Beautiful little one street village. Despite living just a few miles away, I had never visited before so glad I got the opportunity to do so. Parking in the village is free, although on busier days it may be better to park at the castle. A nice cosy tearoom hides down one alley (they make great cake), and a lovely country pub is by the pedestrian entrance to the castle. The buildings themselves are gorgeous, the sort of buildings you would imagine an English village to look like. There's also a church you can visit, we were lucky enough to be the only people inside so it was very serene. Make sure you check out the village's namesake, tucked away down an alley so it's easy to miss! The view from the top is beautiful and looks put over fields. If you're as lucky as we were you'll also catch birds of prey flying overhead.

Fantastic area for a hike. Lots of countryside to explore and much of it is shaded which is ideal for hotter days. Make sure to visit the Tulip Cafe near by too, they have epic cakes and good coffee.

Very small village ,with the major attraction of the castle and grounds close by. Pity today that scaffolding was masking one of the buildings Found the legendary Chidding Stone ! Scenes from the film a Room with a View were filmed there.

A quaint village with some old style buildings. Roadside parking and a short walk made it a nice break

Always pretty, even on a grey day. It's nice to be able to follow the footpath that leaves from the sharp bend in the village (through the arch) into the grounds of Chiddingstone Castle and beyond. There is also a quite nice small restaurant at the end of the passageway. I say "quite nice" as, although the staff were friendly, it took a long time for the food to come (and it was not busy) and I have had better sandwiches for the price. Update in March. Looking prettier. Many daffodils out and the walk along the footpath to the bridge over the river Eden is pretty. We even saw an otter 👍👍

Worth stopping, the church was quite interesting too. Lots of everything for sale in the village store. And don't forget all the walks and a tour of the nearby castle.

We hiked from Hever to Leigh. It was approximately a 4-5 hours hike with mostly beautiful farm landscapes. There are also a lot of pretty English villages along the way. The hike was mostly flat, along footpaths, and suitable for families. Will definitely recommend.

We spent a lovely lunch and afternoon at Chiddingstone. The food was simple but tasty, all locally sourced. The grounds are lovely and great for a walk. What struck us was the utter tranquility of the place.

A special village with several fine buildings in FP walking distance of Hever Castle. But this village is open to the public and offers free parking spaces, unlike Hever.

Lovely quaint little village with some nice walks around. The cafe is great, not cheap but the slices of cake are massive and delicious! Good for dogs too.
