Very huge place to walk, hike and cycle. RM3 per adult for entrance fee ticket. There are scooters for rent, a lot of people bike around here but be mindful the road would be uphill and downhill for cycling. There is also a shuttle bus that takes you around bus stops inside the garden should you have a family, so no worries to cover the ground concerning children's ability to cope. Albeit under-maintained as well, strongly urge the management to do improvement to the place with entrance fee payed by public. It has good mix of forest vibes and good roads to walk on. Definitely a great place to catch weekend exercises. The pinned drop location itself has a huge parking lot to park many cars.

Parking fee is RM5 per car. The entrance fee to the park is RM3 per person. Children under two get to free entry. It is advisable to wear comfortable shoes as the park is big with paths going in many different directions. If possible, avoid weekends and school holidays. The queues for a free bus ride are very long. There are bicycles and several types of electric 2-wheelers for rent if you don't like to wait. Perhaps the most popular attraction within the park is the mini zoo. There is a section at this mini zoo run by a private entity that charges RM10 per person. You are also offered to buy animal feed for RM5 per mug. In my opinion, the animals here look sad and stressed by annoying visitors. Animal lovers had better not visit. In summary, it is a good place to get away from the urban world. A place to stretch your legs and sweat.

Perfect place for family and friends to spend time together with the nature! The entrance fee is only RM3 per head. There’s many activities to do here such as hiking, cycling and just exploring nature and animals. You can rent out bicycles so that you can explore the whole place (you wont be able to explore all if you dont ride bicycle) While there’s also another fun activities like flying fox, kayak, archery (these need to pay if not mistaken RM10 - RM15 per activities)

One of my favourite Botanical Gardens in Selangor. This place is also formally knows as Bukit Cerakah and has been here for over 30+ years. I still visit this place for my birdwatching from time to time, and my last trip here was 14 May 2022. Overall, the place is huge, with a massive walking loop that takes around 2 hours to complete. However, many will walk half way, and turn back. The good news is there are bicycle rentals available here, mostly mountain bikes and some electric bicycles. Prices vary, but seems like many opt for cycling around here. There a park shuttle bus available and great for those wanting to go to other areas in the park. Great place for singles, couples and even families. Price is RM3 for locals, RM1 for seniors above 60. Prepare to spend at least 3-5 hours. And on weekends, it can get crowded. Park opens 7.30am, and by 7am, there's already people waiting to go in. Recommended.

Entrance fee its rm 3 per adult. You can rent bicycles here. Can ride tram also for free. The old watch tower is old and ruined (near arboretum trail). But the new one is good (near herb garden). Visited two dams, Sg kuning dam (some persons are fishing there, can rent boat I think), quite a nice dam here, beautiful view. And the other one is Sg Baru Dam. It's quite far from the junction. No fishing here. The suspension bridge is also ruined. Have surau, toilets (near Sg baru dam& entrance), cafe, ice-cream stall, and bike station. U can walk around the area for about 20kms. Nice and big area but not fully maintained.

A lot of path and facilities is under maintenance and poor condition. The park is big enough for a long walk or jog for easily more than 3hrs+ to go to all spot. Nice view and can enjoy nature Entrance fee is rm3 for adult and rm1 for kid and senior.

The place is sadly different before Covid Era. There were very few animals to be visited at Animal Farm - they have two rabbits, a bird, chicken, ducks, deer, horses (at the stable), more chicken... They used to have more animals and there was horse riding section too. Rumah empat musim was closed too so it was disappointing. Really hope these can be upgraded and more children friendly activities and attractions can be provided. The good thing is - the place is surrounded with ton of trees, friendly for the joggers, cyclists, walkers and the ticket fee is really affordable.

Went for cycling today, for people who not always do exercise like me, is was quite tiring cause there are lot small hills 😂 The entrance fees for the park is RM3 for adult, we rent the bike for RM15 per hours for each bike... however there are 2 stalls for bike renting... Overall the scenery quite nice, the park is big and the people is not so lot...hence we able to maintain social distancing...there also lot others activities provided i.e. rock climbing, flying fox, archery and rowing with extra charges... There also got animal parks, which suitable to bring kids there 👍🏻 Bus also provided for you inside the park.... Overall a good place for outdoor natural activity 😊

Very nice place for morning walk, hiking and cycling. Despite not much attraction in this garden but the natural scenery is so nice to enjoy and relaxing, and is good for short gateway out from city. Definitely recommended. Car entrance fee at RM5 Garden entrance fee atRM3 per person. Mountain bike rental start from RM15 per hour, E Bike rental from RM35 per hour.

The Shah Alam Botanical Garden is open again since April 1st 2021 (after months of closure) . After arriving today, noticed that the road leading to the west (towards the cactus garden is closed as per photo). Hope this helps someone to plan their trip here 😀 especially those interested to cycle or walk towards the westward route.

Visited Nov 2022 Car park was clean. Some areas are naturally shaded. Drains are uncovered and its surrounding area is uneven. Need to be careful when leaving the area. Entry fee is MY5. The park is mostly free of rubbish which is great to see and appreciate. Kudos to the maintenance team. However some of the facilities seems dated and in need of some maintenance and refurbishment. The paddy fields were filled with lalang etc. Some sheds were in disrepair. The pond was slightly murky.

Beautiful place but very poor management. So much potential that can be done with this place but how it is managed is so disappointing. Buildings are not taken care of, animals not fed well. The shuttle bus had no introduction of the taman botani, the unfriendly bus driver merely picks up visitors, goes 1 round into the depth of the taman, and back. 1 single drop off at the animal kingdom which are infested with wild monkeys causing danger to visitors. Poor management but yet there are new buildings coming up. Got money to build new buildings but no money to maintain and fix what is broken. These neglected buildings/ attractions become an eye sore, a waste of resources! Bicycle rental had plenty of electronic bicycles for rent but all are not charged-- in the morning. Move over and let other ppl more capable take over la if you can't do a good job at your work. Again, I'm very sad/ angry that a place with great potential like this is being wasted by poor management.

This is my second visit to the park. It is a big greenery with multiple attractions inside the compound including kayaking, flying fox, bicycle renting and mini zoo. However, I feel sad to see some buildings and landscapes lack maintenance. This is a nice place to bring your family for outdoor activities. I hope governments can maintain the facility better.

Disappointed during my revisit after 10years. Seriously needs more maintenance and upgrading works on their facilities. I believe this pandemic COVIC19 brought a big negative impact to this once a beautiful park. -The Paddy Field, Rabbit Farm was abandoned. -The Four Seasons House is closed. -Many big trees are dying or dead. Many fallen tree trunk along way. -Pitiful deers kept in the totally opened area, sad to see those adorable animals are exposed under the torching hot sun with no shades provided. Cycling in the park should be a fun thing to do here. BUT The bicycle rental centre only provide mountain bikes type which is more suitable for taller guys, my mom's limited body height cant afford to ride on it. We forced to walk by feet cuz the free shuttle bus is not operating during weekday in this low period. It's tiring to walk within the parks cuz each point of interest could be very far in distance. (However the positive point is all the bikes for rental are in good conditions.) Surprisingly the Kampung Idaman is under well kept conditions. This village consists the replica of Rumah Melayu (Traditional Wooden Malay House built on stilts). The rental of these beautiful malay house is suitable for family, friends or even company team buildings, each house are equipped with attached bathrooms, kitchen and BBQ facilities. The room rates is surprisingly cheap if compared with other same concepts resorts. Check on their official websites for more info.

Taman Botani Negara Shah Alam is a good place for recreation, picnic and outdoor activities. Its like a reserve forest with plenty of outdoor activities/exercise such as boat riding, cycling, flying fox, jogging, electric scooter (beam) and so on. One of the favorite spot for team building activities. There is a bus bringing you around the botanical park. There are plenty of animals too, wild one like hedgehog and monkey, and tame one too such as goose and horse. There is parking fees of rm5 and entrance fees of rm3.

I enjoy and love the well-kept lush green forest. Unfortunately, it is not a free entrance park. RM3 for adult and parking is RM5 per entry. So you spend about RM20 for 3 adults and a car. In many other developed places, the country will encourage people to visit their parks and free of charge. Rated 3 because of that else, it should be 4-5 rating. Hope the state government will review.

The park makes me think how broke our country had become. It could be a great attractions but things are badly managed. Please at least take good care of the animals in Taman Haiwan. Landak is having injuries and its sad to watch. I paid entrance fee but most people just walked in without paying. The workers were sitting inside there not doing their job.

Great place to enjoy greenery while cycling (bike, e-scooter, e-bike rentals available) around with friends and family. There is a moderate road trailing track to a tree house. Unfortunately, you can't go up the treehouse as it's worn down and the stairs are broken. There is also a fishing lake and a few small animal farms.

A great place for a family outing/camping/team bonding with friends as there are various activities & sites to visit. Free parking available. RM3 entrance fee. Keep the map of the park with you. The bikes were very affordable as stated by many, you can rent a normal bicycle (RM15 + RM1 for every hour) /electronic bicycle (RM30 + RM5 for every hour, suitable when riding with kids), beam scooters were also available. Make sure to test the breaks, test the ride, check the gears & check for flat tires before riding off for the day. They accept cash & online banking. **recommend to get electronic bikes/Beam scooter if you don't want to cycle up steep hills. There were some parts that are not advisable to ride, due to the steep hill, nonetheless bring the bikes along with you as its only certain areas that are restricted. With the presence of monkeys, stay calm & walk in groups (team up with another group of people if necessary) as the monkeys can be aggressive. Most areas aren't shaded, therefore it's advisable to bring umbrella/wear caps. We also noticed some nature photographers present. Free bus shuttle is available at certain stops if you prefer to rest after the long walk. Public toilets are also available at certain areas. Drinks/food are only available at the entrance. Overall it was a nice scenic walk, not that crowded too (came during Ramadan month, on a public holiday). Roads were wide, hence we could maintain social distancing. Since its a huge park, we walked more than 10k steps. 1 day isn't enough to visit the whole compound. Bring along light snacks to fuel up (but careful of monkeys). **we did not participate in any activities neither visit any of the sites (except for the fishing lake & the water dam), hence unable to comment about the maintenance/fees. Hope you've found this helpful 😊

I have been there yesterday with sibling and family members. The park has a lot to offer being a big place to explore with fauna and flora and mini zoo with few animals in cage. Sad though an area badly maintain even the entrance without a big signage. No ticketing staff. Anybody can enter illegally. Toilet with cockroach, some no water, roof defect.. Tree house floor broken not maintain. Hanging bridge also not maintain. My grand niece took the horse ride with the track looking in shambles. Why is Selangor government not maintaining even there is a crowd on weekends. If they are thinking of developing housing and destroying the place it is a sad reaction and for the next generation. No place of greenhouse.

Poorly maintained however this means you will have privacy for the kayaking, wall climbing, bus ride, flying fox, visiting few antics, cycling or jogging. Been here a few times with kids and friends. Give this place to a real entrepreneur and they’ll make sure the ROI is worth it. Moral of the story, don’t overown something you can’t maintain in the future. Own a smaller house, smaller garden or smaller land. Same goes to Kelab Shah Alam and other government initiatives.

Been here for long long time ago, just remembering here and come to have a walk. Since when did they start need to pay for parking and/or the entrance? Well that's definitely fine for the payment but what's inside is not well maintained. Walking / jogging area is a mess. Also, some of the attractive place is closed down.

Definitely one of the best places to spend some outdoor time, alone or with friends. Tucked away somewhere in Shah Alam, and it's not too difficult finding this place. Ample parking spots. Tickets are needed for entry, and according to the counter, one can bring a bicycle and also food items for picnic without extra charge. Remember to get a printed map from the entrance counter. Lots of attractions inside and one can easily spend the entire day here. Currently during CMCO, they close about 4.30pm, so plan accordingly. My favorite spots include sitting in the padi fields, sitting by the lotus lake, and also visiting the animal farm. The fishing pond seemed to be under maintenance, so, couldn't tell if it's a good spot for fishing or not. Highly recommended for a day outing.

Big park with ample parking lots. Entrace fee for adults is RM3 & RM1 for kids. You can either opt to bring your own bicycle, rollerblades, scooters or rent from one of the rental shops there. Baby/child seats also available. If you dont feel like cycling, just ride the free bus around the park instead. Cheap flying fox across a lake for RM10 located near the animal park. The paddy field makes you feel like you’re in Kedah and not in Shah Alam.

Haven't been to this park for a long long time, not expecting much changes. But was really disappointed with the state it is now, though they are in mist of upgrading the place. Upon entering, there used to be a really picturesque 'padi' fields around, now is dried up. Good that the lake next to it, still maintaining it's charm.....capture the whole picture! Walking further in, gives us the pleasure to be close to nature, serenity into the forest. Nice paved paths for walking in the constant shade of trees around. The animals farm is still under renovations, hoping the authorities will give the animals a much better home environment closer to their Habitat. The deer enclosure urgently needs cleaning and upgrading! I felt sorry for all the deers inside. This place is rather big, just managed to walk until the model dwellings of different states. Well, will be waiting for the day when this park is fully upgraded.....it will be a wonderful place to explore again!

Always love to come to this park for a leisure work out. Came here with a 5 yrs old newbies in cycling. We did some light training here. He is learning to "manage" his small bicycle...learning how to switch his gears to do "uphill" and "downhill". Well technically there is no hill in the park but small slope, good enough for him to learn as newbies.

First visit here with some friends. Huge area.Plenty open car parks and it was free. Entrance fee was RM3 per adult. We were thinking of renting bikes to cycle around but each was RM15 per hour...which was too pricey for us. Decided to hike up the lookout tower which was at Bukit Sapu Tangan. It took us an hour to walk up the hill from the entrance. Some part were steep and not suitable for bicycling but that didnt stop some people. We were happy to finally reached the tower but the staircase were broken!!! It was such a disappointment. The management of the park should have maintained it better. Some smaller trails were covered by shrubs and creeping plants too. It is an embarrassment to tourists. The view would have been great up there. We saw part of a beautiful skyline with clouds above the hill peaks, a lake and residential area. Overall it was a fun hike. You need longer hours to cover the other parts of the park. Tram car was provided too.Not sure about the fee though.

The best place to feel nature and smell of fresh air of rainforest in Shah Alam. Large space parking area for motorcycle and cars. Need to pay parking fee RM3 for cars. RM1 for motorcycle. RM5 for bigger cars such as lorry and so on. You need also buy ticket for entering this place for RM3/adult, RM2/kids and RM1/OKU or older peoples. You also can rent a electric motorcycle and bicycle. Normal bicycle for RM15/hour and additional RM1 for next hour. For extreme bicycle RM20/hour and also additional RM1 for next hour. You can also walk or jog in this for about 6km can refer to maps for direction provided in the place. Best outfit to wear sports attire or comfortable attire because you will sweat a lot. Many ups and downs throughout the place. There are hanging bridge, lakes, small river and dam. There are also like a mini zoo. You can give deer and horse to eat by buying the animal food for RM1. Many other things you can experience here. You want to know more? I recommended to come and feel it yourself. Best place also to spend time with families and friends. 👍👍👍👍👍

Park closes on public holiday? Expect people to visit on weekdays? Gov should encourage people to stay healthy and visit the park more! Even the side notice says "Isnin tutup kecuali cuti am" means the park should stay open on public holiday! What valuables are there in the park to protect? I never seen anyone patrolling even when it's open.

Nice area. Lots of activities can be done here. Hiking, exercise, kayaking and upcoming petting zoo in mid Nov 2023. Got a bus to go from one area to another. Bicycle, motor bicycle to rent. Runaway a bit from hectic life. I will definitely come again to explore more. Got some food stall in the area also, but the price is quite pricy like the area is so isolated like in the middle of nowhere 🤷🏻‍♀️. So bring your own food if you are a cheapskate. You can picnic here if you want, but be careful as here got wild monkeys. Just remember you come to their places, and they have the right to the area more than you do. So stay humble and vigilant. 4 star because some places like culture houses have nothing to explore. Cant access kinda waste of area. Also, in the fb mentioned there is a petting zoo opening on Nov. However when we come here there's no petting zoo, only empty cages.

Let the virgin forest wake your day and the tranquillity of the scenery will give you peace of mind. National Botanical Garden or formerly known as Bukit Cerakah is a as research centre and scientific conservation, national education in botanical development, horticulture, forestry and many more. It is a great place for sight seeing with interesting place to visit like Seasonal House, Herb Garden, Fruit Garden, Animal Park, Cactus Garden just to name few. If you are interested for challenges you can try Skytrex for flying fox, balance on high ropes, climbing ladders which you can choose beginner, intermediate and advance level. The price is very reasonable not exceeding RM 100 and free shuttle service available upon request. Surau is situated not far from here. If you choose to rent bicylce, it will take 20 minutes from the gate entrance with RM 15 for rental fees. Bear in mind to bring your own food because there is only one restaurant provided at the entrance wherease other places only provided snacks and drinks. So far no interference with wild animals except monkeys which did not disturb visitors. Saturday and Sunday will be the best day to visit because all parks and stalls are open to public.

Dog friendly parks are a rarity in Malaysia but Desa ParkCity proves that you can make a well managed park where people of all races can live in harmony with our furry friends. The park’s large area with a lake in the middle means that your dogs will have a lot of space to run and enjoy themselves without necessarily bumping into other dogs unless you choose to. The park management even provides plastic bags and rubbish bins so you can clean up after your dog when it poops. Many of the shops in the park are actually dog friendly as well.

A good place to visit, for weekend activities or exercise like jogging, cycling, walking. But this place need a better management team. This place is not well maintained, even though it's belongs to Government department. Their management should learn from Singapore on how they maintain a flowery garden. Even though it's a reserved forest, but pretty sure there is a way to well maintained it.

(Translated by Google) It is a loss to Selangor because x is well maintained. Maintenance is very bad, it can be said that it is not taken care of at all. Iron tram holders for passengers are rusty and very dangerous if children are exposed to the iron. Unmanaged rice fields, high weeds accumulate, I suggest that the villagers pay to be farmers for the fields, and provide a small space or room for the growing rice process, resulting in a small packing of 2kg / pkt, already generating economies of scale to supply little rice supply to the people of the land The 4 season x house has been open from the beginning until now. Traditional homes for state x are well maintained. I applaud the tickets for a reasonable price, but the management is responsible for the park.

Beautiful Botanical Park. Great place to enjoy time away from severe and addictive use of technology. So many activities can be done as per posted in the pictures. Note to oneself, come during the weekends as most activities are available then. Some places require you to call in advance as they are outside agencies. Many scenic places to have picnics and just spend quality time with your family. There are stalls available for lunch. I advice to use the trem first to know each location and distance betweem them, the park is ginormous.

It's admission fee was RM 3/person only. For ardent cyclists who love to ride on hilly track, bring your own bicycles. While those who want to refresh their riding skills, can rent it on hourly basis from an in-house operator. For those who like adventure, flying fox, pedal boat and kayak activities were also available.

This big place is very suitable to bring a bicycle or scooter, if you want to walk from the entrance to the zoo can also stand far, there is a shuttle bus service available, so it is very suitable for cyclists, want to relax bring an electric bike because there is a road up, tired a little want to paddle, beautiful area full of natural forest wood, very peaceful here, there is a zoo but many empty cages may impact pkp before .. hopefully there are back animals like before, want to jog is suitable, kayaking is also available , I hope this park is as lively as ever with a mini zoo ..

Lots of run-down, abandoned areas; only saw deers, rabbits and geese at the animal farm. Wished there were better paths for walking and more things to see. Upside is there's a free shuttle that takes you around.

Overall still a nice place to walk for the fit n unfit...Happy to pay for entry but not for parking. If entry n parking fees are to be used for park upkeep then acceptable. However this does not seem to be the case. The highlight of the 6000 over steps uphill was supposedly to be rewarded with a magnificent view from the top of Bukit Saputangan. It's tough for first timers. After the gruelling hike up, one wd be devastated as the watchtower was closed. The wooden stairs up the tower were missing! No view from the 204M high top 😭😓😢 All one can do was a sneak peek thru thru thick unkept foliage beneath the tower. Will go again to check the rest of the park with the hope of the entry fees contributing to a simple dream of being able to feel the "4 seasons" again in this once beautiful park!

Terrific spot for family cycling outings! The expansive area offers various attractions with reasonable entrance fees. It’s great that visitors aren’t obligated to pay for features like the mini zoo if it’s not their preference. Given the size of the place, upkeep costs are understandably high. Before critiquing the RM5 parking fee, it’s worth considering the necessary maintenance expenses involved.

Taman Botani Negara Shah Alam is located in Shah Alam and charges an entrance fee of RM 3 per entry; RM 1 for senior citizens 55 years and above and free for OKU. The park is very large but unfortunately the facilities are not well maintained. The bus only runs on the weekend and there are bicycles for rent. It is alright for a spot or walking or cycling exercise and there were only a few visitors when I went during a weekday morning. Staff at the entrance were friendly and polite.

For just RM3, can explore a very big park filled with many animals and attractions. Riding bicycles is recommended given the large area to be covered. One day is not enough to explore the whole park. Nice place to go with family!

A decent park/garden for a day out and cycling with friends and family. Parking is free and toilets are available. I suggest you climb all the way to check out the lake/dam, but then it is not well taken care of. Hopefully they will fix it soon. You will need to pay RM3 per entry and additional RM12/15 if you want to rent a bike. Preferable to bring own bike, the bike seats are not in good condition so it will be painful for you. Nearest public transport access: KTM Shah Alam

Workers here do not practice SOP during this season of pandemic. We do not recommend families to visit this place.

Beautiful nature with proper maintenance and SOP.. suggest to come on weekends because they have a lot of food stalls on Saturday and Sunday.. Children will love this place very much.. The entrance fees for adults is rm30, kids rm1.. They also provide shuttle bus that always fetch the visitors every 10-15 minutes..

An attractive place for a family vacation to get closer to nature. New experiences for children. Get ready for sweaty kids!

Maintenance is way below par. Big parking provided early. Many groups, family day events. No social distancing being observe. Avoid weekends to avoid crowds and to minimise contact with unknown people.

Great place to bring kids and family members. You can have a tram ride for 15 minutes. Stop for a walk, see the nature and deers. Even you can try flying fox, kayaking or archery. The fee was cheap also.

Beautiful family friendly place. We as a family enjoyed our trip. Tram ride was enjoyable. Food at the cafe was tasty. Feeding Animals and other activities like Archary worth checking out. Please call before you go and ask the price and book activities for children. Will visit again

Rainforest is the theme! Its tar road all along. Main artery roads with many diversions/attrations inside. Ticket only rm 3 for adult. Kids rm 1. Follow the road can reach the mini empangan. Cooling even at 10 am because of the very tall trees. The google map point is where the empangan is. I saw some monkeys..thats all. Love the place. can rent bicycle at rm 15 for a day. Non stop walking up slope from payment counter, about 1 hour to the empangan.

This park is big and have many attractions such as animal farm and cactus garden. It will be entertaining if you love walking or cycling around. We went to see the 4 seasons house but it was closed until further notice. It was disappointing for us. The shuttle service is slow and unable to accomodate all of the tourists.

Nice botanical garden, not far from city. Family friendly, parking lot available. Good for exercise, walking, jogging or for gathering with family and friends. There are few part only accessible for walking and cycling only. Also you can rent bicycles here and enjoy the park. Some area also have tasik and you can see few lotus flower here.

Kindly dissapointed. I rent a bike just to use bike road to go explore all places but kindly they closed. Besides, no notice date or incoming date mentioning the place will be open. So yeah. Closed

Lovely and relatively well maintained place, they charge a nominal entrance fee. We enjoyed seeing the farm animals like buffalo, ponies, deer. However please exercise caution when you spot monkeys. We were waiting on the road from around 60 m away for a family of monkeys to cross the road and one suddenly charged towards me and my baby. Needless to say we nope-nope-nope and ran for our lives. Not today king kong!

Parking : RM 5 Entry fee : Adult RM 3 Child RM1 Recommended to rent a bike here if you wish to explore the whole area since it's quite spacious for you to just walk. There are plenty of bikes to be rent there.

A lot of path and facilities is under maintenance and poor condition. The park is big enough for a long walk or jog for easily more than 3hrs+ to go to all spot. Nice view and can enjoy nature

Maintenance not so good... not much thing to see except you can ride a bike to go places inside the Taman Botani. Most of all it still nice place to visit.😇

Even on a national holiday this place is not packed. Beautiful gardens can be seen at their best using the Beam scooters.
