水沢うどん街道にある元祖田丸屋さんに伺いました。日曜日の11時頃に伺うと、混み始めていましたが、待ち無しで直ぐに入店出来ました。元祖老舗の名店だけあり、広々した店内は清潔感があり、落ち着いた色調の木テーブルと椅子が設置されています。案内係の方の接客もとても丁寧です。
もりうどん二色つゆ(胡麻、醤油)1,210円と、みたらししんこ餅660円を注文しました。胡麻つゆ、醤油つゆ、どちらも美味しいですが、醤油つゆは出汁がしっかりと効いていて雑味が無く本当に美味しいと思います。大澤屋さんの麺と比べると、麺が太くて程よい長さのうどんです。エッジが効いたツルツル麺は食べ応えがあり喉越しも良く一気に啜れます。しんこ餅は米粉で出来ているので、モチモチ感はそんなに無く素朴な食感です。みたらし餡が甘いのでデザート感覚でいただくのが良いと思います。時間が経つと固くなるので、早めに食べた方が良いとの事です。店を出る頃には待ち合い席に順番待ちが出来ていたので、早めに行かれるのが良いと思います。
