Customer service was excellent. They had a lot of options to cater for all appetite sizes and dietary requirements. I wanted to try multiple things and thankfully they had mini size ramen bowls that I could order through the machine and customise the toppings. Ticket machine to order was so easy to use and it is strictly no cash payment. I recommend getting a mini shoyu ramen and adding yuzu to it. This is not normally on the menu but it tasted better than the yuzu shio ramen. The chashu pork rice was really nice too, they added seaweed to go with their nicely chargrilled pork belly chunks.

OK, so one of the chefs is unbelievably handsome? Cannot deal. Vegan ramen were sold out, which is...certainly a situation to have. So I just ordered bland noodles with a side of bamboo, greens, and nori. The store itself is super clean and not smelly at all. No cash payments possible. Will come back to try the vegan ramen.

Impossible to overhype. Been here half a dozen times and it’s truly that good. Absolute legend in the ramen game. Spiced yuzu bowl is the crown jewel. Extra tamago always nice!

Very tasty and fast moving ramen restaurant in Japan. Being a vegan, I was a bit skeptical. But their vegan ramen is one of the best I have had in Japan. Their broth has a bit of yuzu (citrus fruit from Japan) taste that makes it very unique. The only thing is they don’t accept cash. All other forms of payments are accepted. A definite must visit restaurant in Japan!

A remen restaurant which I'm willing to queue without feeling wasting my time Dipping soup is so intense and nice smell from yuzu. Noodle is cooked well with good portion. Chachu pork is tender and tasty. Price is reasonable. If you love intense soup, try the dipping type. Then, you cannot turn back to the served soup because of lighter level.

Great ramen and friendly staff. They use a machine to order which makes it much easier for non-Japanese people. Lunch lines wrap around to the back of the restaurant, expect to wait 45+ minutes for food. Vegan ramen is available.

The soup flavor is really good, I ordered salty ramen and the soup has a mild flavor of the famous citron. Pork slice is grilled right before serving and the flavor is rich. Also great services. Highly recommend!

If you're a ramen enthusiast like me, a visit to AFURI in Harajuku is an absolute must! My recent experience at this exquisite ramen joint left me spellbound, and I can't wait to share the sheer delight I found in their Yuzu Tsukemen. The moment I stepped into AFURI, I was greeted by a trendy yet inviting ambiance, as the modern-looking interior was accompanied to western R&B and rap. The Yuzu Tsukemen broth was an absolute revelation. Light, yet bursting with tangy and vibrant flavors, it was an impeccable balance of citrusy zest and umami goodness. Each slurp brought a harmonious symphony of tastes to my palate, leaving me craving more with every bite. Its an extraordinary culinary masterpiece, boasting a light yet tangy broth that will leave your taste buds dancing with joy. The noodles were perfectly cooked, with just the right firmness to complement the broth. They effortlessly soaked up the flavors, making each mouthful an explosion of delight. The accompanying dipping sauce was a work of art, elevating the experience to a whole new level. Its unique blend of savory and tangy notes added an extra dimension of complexity, leaving me in awe of the culinary mastery on display. I got it as a combo meal, which included their signature aburi chashu gohan, which perfectly complemented the rich ramen notes with the smokey flavor. They even have a vegan option, giving this restaurant something to eat for everyone. Prepare yourself for an unforgettable experience that transcends the boundaries of traditional ramen. I am already eagerly planning my next visit to AFURI, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking an extraordinary dining experience.

I have had more than my fair share of ramen back in my home country, the Philippines, but what I consider to be my first “authentic” ramen experience was right here at Afuri Harajuku. I couldn’t contain my excitement as soon as we set foot inside the restaurant. We were greeted by the familiar open kitchen counter and stools typical of ramen houses. It was a delight to see the staff concocting one ramen bowl after another with their experienced hands. I was told this place is often packed with people, but I guess luck was on our side on the day of our visit as we didn’t have to queue and got our orders placed without much trouble. It didn’t take long for our orders to arrive – soon after taking our seats, a bowl of perfection was right before me. I am a fan of tonkotsu-based broth because of its rich taste. Afuri’s was quite the opposite – I found their ramen to be light and refreshing but nothing short of delectable. A sip of their broth was enough to send this ramen to the top of my list – definitely the best out of all the others I have tried before! The noodles were cooked to perfection and were a great complement to the delicious broth. For less than 1,000 yen, their serving was huge and more than enough to satiate my hunger. It’s worth all the money, I swear! Overall, it was a great bowl of authentic ramen – one that you wouldn’t want to miss! 🏯🍜

They upgraded their vending machine to electronic. Now you can pay in card also and they have the digital machine with English option! Still one of the best spot in Harajuku!

I think the locals wished they could take this one back from the tourists. Expect to queue for about 30-40mins. The line goes round the side of the lil shop. There are <20 seats in the place, but the meals get slurped up fast, and diners move along quickly. Orders are paid up front at the kiosks, and, it’s a Cashless establishment. There is one unicorn-like girl who greets you, manages the queuing, tells you where to sit, gets you your water, and sometimes, serves you your meal. This keeps service well-oiled and contains most of the hustle behind the counter. The counter is the only thing between you and the kitchen. I spotted 3 in the kitchen + 1 unicorn girl. Thats all they need. The star of this experience is the ramen itself. I ordered the set meal of the yuzu-shio, and it comes with a mini bowl of chopped up pork on rice. Yuzu-ramen with yellow noodles: the broth is genius. It has the full body of bone flavour with the pep of yuzu. The noodles itself, springing with a slight bite. *chefs kiss* Mini rice bowl: yummy porky bits are clear cousins to the chashu that floats in the ramen. It shares the same pedigree of flavour.

It's so so so good!! The yuzu base broth adds another dimension to the ramen, and very refreshing! Everything is just done to perfection, nothing to pick about.. Just that ordering can be abit daunting when there's a queue. The sliced pork was OMPHHH!! The slightly charred edges add lots of flavour to the pork, and it's extremely tender.. It was so good that I added another slice of pork, totally worth it!

OK, standard ramen shop. Worth queuing up for 1 hour? For me not special enough. Fresh Yuzu-salt ramen sounds mouth pouring, but I wouldn’t repeat as its noodle, soup, Chashu is quite standard in taste. It is one of a “different” kind of ramen though. Try it out by yourself and see.

I had the most delicious tsukemen here, bouncy and chewy with subtle but definitely present yuzu flavor in the dipping sauce. The regular shoyu ramen was great too. This place is rather cozy with counter seating surrounding the kitchen. There is an English menu on the ticketing machine. People line up next to the door and it continues outside. Diners eat quickly so don't be discouraged by the long line!

AFURI serves contemporary ramen, with the distinctive sour and refreshing taste of yuzu in the broth. We ordered the shio yuzu ramen set, which comes with char siu pork rice. The food is nice, but not amazing. There are alternative options such as vegan, konjac noodles, and chicken breast. You can watch the chef in action while listening to uplifting soundtracks.

Such a nice place to eat a delicious Raman. I highly recommend the Yuzu ramen with the thicker noodle and the richer broth. The Yuzu beer is also quite nice. The staff was very nice and friendly Expect to queue up to 30/45min depending on the time of the day !

This place was delicious! It was a perfect final Japan meal. We got there right when they opened. The food was quick and so yummy. The atmosphere was nice, and it was very clean. I would recommend this place if you're looking for some slamming ramen, even if there is a short wait.

The sleeve-flavored noodle soup, the char siu is delicious, and the soft-boiled eggs are delicious. It takes more than half an hour to line up, which is unnecessary.

I recently visited AFURI Ramen in Harajuku, Tokyo. It truly was an unforgettable experience. The ramen was delicious and being able to customize my bowl was a huge plus. As a pescatarian my options are limited, but the flavors are still amazing. The only downside is the waiting time, but that's to be expected in a popular place like this. If possible, try to go during off-peak hours. The added bonus of being able to watch the team work their magic at the table made for a truly unique dining experience. I highly recommend visiting AFURI if you are in the area. They have other places around Tokyo- check out which suits you best!

Tastes great! I recommend. A fashionable ramen shop in Japan. There are also many tourists from overseas. Line up for lunch. Ticket vending machines are difficult for foreign tourists. I look forward to store's improvement.Cashless payment is possible.

The ramen here are very delicious but also the rice bowls. I absolute recommend the Chashu bowl! As for vegan there is only 1 option on the menu but my vegan friend said it was also recommendable.

Undoubtedly one of the best ramen I have ever had, the I got the ramen shiyo ume set which was divine! The taste of ume was perfectly balanced in the soup, the rice and chashu that it came with it as set was also so delicious! Strongly recommend!

Really great ramen. Reasonable price despite being so popular. We didn't wait in line at all, just 2-3 minutes to be seated as a couple. We really liked both shio ramen and the spicy version.

If you like your ramen with a light broth, this will be right up your alley! Great tasting ramen with a delicious broth. The yuzu gives the broth a refreshing note. Service was excellent! Fast and efficient. It can get a little crowded though. We visited in between meal times and didn't have to queue.

After having been to other ramen shops in Tokyo, I have to say that Afuri is the best one. The other places offer a very similar experience where you get a bowl of noodles and some other toppings, but at Afuri it's different. They have way more toppings and side dishes which makes it a great option for dinner with friends.
