During my recent stay at Shibuya Tokyu REI Hotel, I experienced a mix of impressions. The hotel's location was undoubtedly its standout feature – conveniently nestled in the heart of Shibuya, providing easy access to the bustling streets and iconic landmarks. However, there were some downsides to my stay. Despite booking a non-smoking room, I couldn't help but notice a lingering smell of cigarettes, which was disappointing. For travelers who are sensitive to such odors, this could pose a significant issue and may not make for a pleasant stay. Additionally, the room itself was quite small. While this might be common in many city hotels, it's worth noting for travelers who prefer more spacious accommodations. Despite the cozy quarters, the hotel staff was friendly and helpful, trying their best to accommodate guests within the limited space available. In summary, if you can overlook the cigarette smell and don't mind snug quarters, the hotel's excellent location might outweigh these concerns. However, I would hesitate to recommend it to fellow travelers who are sensitive to cigarette odors, as it could significantly impact their overall experience.

Nice and clean hotel. Staff are very professional just like 4-star hotel. Notably this is a budget hotel under the Tokyu brand. Rooms are small, but location is just fantastic. Next to the famous Shibuya cross junction, with lots of eating spots and shopping options. Shibuya station is conveniently located just across the street. I was travelling with two young children (under 3) and we didn't have problems moving around. We got a room overlooking the train tracks, and the kids were just mesmerized by the view. Great stay!

Pros: - Place is clean. - Staff seem professional. - Location is convenient for Shibuya. Cons: - Paper thin walls! You can hear everything next door. Almost impossible to get any sleep until your neighbors go to sleep first. Big problem. - Room is very basic and basically crammed. Overall, for the price, there will be better options in the area. Very surprised at how noisy the room was, big disappointment.

This is located right next to Shibuya Crossing so you're in the heart of it all. Arcades and food alley along with a plethora of restaurants just right next to the hotel. The staff is very courteous and helpful. We were able to leave our luggages with them before check in time as well as after we checked out. Our room has a projector instead of a TV which was a pretty cool experience.

Lovely hotel and very polite staff. I stayed here four years ago in 2018. Hence I booked this hotel again for Oct. 2022. The breakfast is fantastic. The location of the hotel is next to the Shibuya station and the famous scramble crossing. You cannot as for a more central location.

Sensible room size for Shibuya (1 double bed size room is a tight fit for 2 medium build adults) and awesome location for shopping, people watching and late night drinking. Close to JR train and subway stations, Friendly staff. Room includes a mini fridge, tea pot, safe and a TV. Free wifi. Tooth brushes and bath accessories are also available in the room. Hotel restaurant serves breakfast buffet. There are many other breakfast options close by, we did not try the restaurant. Check out time: 10 AM.

My husband and I stayed here in March. The room was about the size of a cruise ship room. Apparently this is to be expected in Japan. The staff was friendly despite the language barrier. This hotel was VERY convenient. We were about 1 or 2 short blocks from everything that we needed. The area is nice. There was some construction going on at the time across the street but it wasn’t an inconvenience. The train is across the street which was extremely convenient. I would stay again if I ever visited again. We didn’t eat any food at the hotel but we did have McDonalds which is a few doors down. It tastes nothing like the US.

Location was right down the road from the station and walking distance near a lot of night activities. Very nice staff that was able to get me checked in and into my room in minutes. Extra items you need for your room are right at the elevator and there are a large variety of items. Very nice room size and they used a projector for the TV which was very cool. I recommend this for anyone that needs a nice room to relax in. Even if you aren't expecting to spend a lot of time in the room, the time you spend in the room will be nice.

Staff is very friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and a good size. The hotel is located just a block away from shibuya crossing so it has easy access to almost every train line, food, and shopping. I will definitely stay here again next time I'm in Tokyo.

We very much enjoyed our stay here! My boyfriend and I stayed for five nights and had no complaints. The room was was super clean and the air conditioning worked well (something I was worried about given how hot it is in the summer). Everyone we interacted with at the hotel was friendly, helpful, and polite. They even have a little station of free amenities like toothbrushes, sunscreen, razors, etc. in the lobby. The location was perfect for our first visit to Tokyo - it’s a 2 min walk from Shibuya Station and right around the corner from Shibuya Crossing.

I really like the room, simple and clean. Nice amenities like face cream and cotton pads below at the lobby. With a 🛁 bathtub! Accessible at exit 2B of the Shibuya station, near bic Camera, awesome location! But it's summer, and it's too hot. I adjusted the Aircon to 20 deg but it's at 27 deg at night. 😰

If you're looking for a good launching pad for your Tokyo vacation, this is a great choice. Very close to one of the entrances to Shibuya station and literally one block away from the crossing and all the restaurants and shopping around it. Excellent service from the staff who were able to accommodate us with limited Japanese language ability. Rooms are on the smaller end but this is to be expected of any non-luxury hotel in Tokyo in a good location and since we only used the room for sleeping, it didn't feel cramped.

Stayed here during the holiday season Pros: - Location, its super close to Shibuya Station and easy walking distance to a lot of things to do. - Staff was incredibly friendly. - The hotel was very clean, and the on site laundry mat was super handy for tourists. However be prepared to do multiple runs on the dryer. - The water fountain saved us on our travels. Cons (ish) - Its a pretty expensive room for the size, but with location it makes sense. Just be prepared to drop some cash. - While room was small, it was enough for me and my spouse, but Id say if possible try to get double beds if you have more than one person. We got a room with 2 beds and woul;d probably have a different opinion if we got one bed to share. - Walls are a little thin, but was never a big deal as we were only in our room to sleep, and noise never kept me up or anything. All in all, a great place to stay, just be prepared for what you're buying if you're a western tourist because its very different than what we are use to.

First of all, be prepared to enter a tiny as hell room. Upon initial impression I was not impressed. However, upon closer inspection and staying here for a few days I came to love the cosiness and resourceful use of space. The floor plan just works. Every amenity you need is there and in arms reach. It was super clean, great location and does the job. Surprisingly did not feel claustrophobic however I only stayed for 3 nights. Lobby staff spoke limited English and there was no free toiletries for the taking. Overall it was a decent stay.

The rooms are very clean. The service is great. The location is fantastic. Not far from everything I would suggest that if you were looking for certain places, use the subway underground to get there much quicker all information. All information is on the walls as you walk around keep to your left at all times. Using Google translator communicate with people is great. Plus there’s a camera option that translates information for you 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺

The service is really good at this hotel but it's clearly older and in need of renovation. The hotel is conveniently located one block from Shibuya crossing and the prices are reasonable. The staff greet you everytime you walk through the lobby. However, the room smells faintly of smoke on a non smoking floor, the AC is weak and the shower ceiling has mold growth. Decent place to spend one night in Shibuya but not longer.

I'm staying right now. Although the Japanese hotels are small, it feels larger than other hotels. Great location, early check in was possible and Staff members are kind. It was possible to throw away the broken carrier for 500 yen. Recommended if you come to Shibuya.🇦🇺

Location and staffs are excellent. It's near the central of everything with just a few mins walk to every where: the scramble cross, train station, restaurants, etc. Breakfast is okay, but has things for everyone from Western to Japanese foods. The only thing we could wish for is the room being a bit larger. But anyhow, that's what we aware of for hotel rooms in Japan in general.

the hotel is very well positioned right next to the station in the heart of Shibuya. good place to sleep to be in Shibuya. nothing exceptional, but nothing problematic either. the rooms are clean and the bed is ok. I recommend if you want to stay in Shibuya

GREAT location, and the buffet breakfast is phenomenal. But rooms are very small and the walls are thin. There are water dispensers on every floor for hot and cold water, and free amenities in the lobby.

The hotel location was perfect, near station and other point of interests. Staff was helpful, check in and check out was smooth. The room itself is okay, clean, amenities ok. Just the room space and bathroom is quite small, typical size in Tokyo. 3 person in one room, mobility was limited.

Just really needed to say more...... Breakfast was great and environment was very clean and tidy. All the hotel staff are very professional and so helpful and polite. We loved it so much that my son and I decided to stay once again in a few more months and cannot wait to return. Would highly recommend this hotel.

The reception is friendly, and common area looks beautiful. But the rooms itself extra small and looks like 90's style. Bathroom is extremely tiny, like in cheap mansion built in 70's....doesn't worth the money.

Staff is very helpful and location is great but would not stay again. Our first room was non smoking but smelled heavily of cigarettes so we requested a move, (but had to stay there the first night because other rooms were booked), which caused a sore throat for first week of vacation. Rooms are small and reasonably clean but definitely tired.

Since my last visit, all the rooms are renovated and I like modern interior. Some rooms have projector in room where you can enjoy a in-room theater ( note that those theater room does not have full working desk and chair, but foldable desk and stool in stead) The location is very convenient and staffs are super nice. Good for solo and a couple. Not many big rooms.

All you could ask for from a budget hotel in the heart of Shibuya. Clean room with friendly and professional service at the front desk. Our view over the railway was fun and colorful. We looked straight down on an alley of tiny bars and across to some of the giant video billboards. The window blocked out almost all of the noise and with the sliding shutter closed nothing bothered us. The location is basically just around the block from the Scramble and Shibuya station.

Very good location, right in the heart of Shibuya and less than 5 mins from the Shibuya station. The staff were friend and spoke reasonable English. Rooms were small but that is to be expected in Japan. The room was comfortable. My only comment is that the rooms weren't as quiet as most places I've stayed in. Outside noises were more noticeable and you could hear people in the next room if they were being loud/coughed/sneezed. although, none of these noises woke me up. Overall it was a good hotel in a great location.

The rooms are very comfortable, clean and modern. The size of the room is a standard size as you would expect in Japan meaning compact but with all necessary amenities included. The breakfast is just wonderful with western and Japanese options. I recommend to try small portions of the many options they have, its all amazing. And the hospitality of the staff is simply 5 stars as everything. Not to mention the location of the hotel right in the center of Shibuya. Simply spectacular.
