Not a place to go if you want to sleep. I had to attend an interview and had to go early to sleep. This was not possible because the hotel is actually a bar, and there was music and Karaoke untill late. The bed was really old, bent and you could feel every single spring. Apart from the music which didnt stop until late, the heating system was turned off, and for the first time in my life I was woken up by the extreme cold in the room. It turned out that the heating system was programed to start heating only up to five degrees, 5°C!!!!! The shower was tiny, and you could only have have cold water or boiling water. There is a water heating device to make yourself a cofee, but the milk was out of date .... The wifi had password which no one would give you. If you want it I guess you need to go to the bar and wait untill you get attended. In a nutshell it was a nightmare, the worst was the extreme cold at night and the music which made it difficult for anyone to fall asleep. The reception is the bar by the way, and there is only one person to serve the bar and serve the "hotel". For just a bit more you have real hotels nearby. No doubt, dondt make the same mistake, choose a proper hotel for your stay.

50th birthday treat, warm, welcoming and friendly with a relaxed atmosphere, staff friendly and helpful. Food was amazing, bogof burger Saturday, excellent value for money, delicious and definitely filling 10/10 x

Visited sunday evening when quiet. Think this place has new owners who are new to the industry, nothing like the last time we visited, although the food was OK the menu is now tiny and so are the portions. It was one girls 1st day serving but not sure about the other who didn't really want to be there or serve food and drink.

We both ordered the mixed grill and the meat was shocking. The piece of ham tasted off, the lamb cutlet was boiled and really chewy, the beef was chewy. The chips were very old brown inside and soggy, one egg was rock hard the other was under done and was snotty . Iv never had food as bad in my life.wasnt even offered a refund . Won't recommend and will definitely not be going back. I didn't even want to give it 1 star

Impromptu visit at lunchtime with a group of 22 ,absolutely excellent service ,very accomadating and friendly. Great drinks and food served by lovely friendly staff. Everyone happy and will definitely return. Thank you all

We have called on a couple of occasions but it was closed but by pure luck as our first choice was quite busy so we tried the again and we found it open 😀. It was a great surprise for it was just like the places we love and weren't disappointed with the service the drinks and also the food . So we will most certainly call again.

Fabulous pub, everyone is really lovely, nothing is too much trouble for them. The food is incredible, Lee is a fantastic chef and goes over and above for his customers. Due to ill health am unable to eat much, I'm always asking to take things off that I am unable to eat but he always replaces it with something else. The people that use the pub and hotel are lovely,very welcoming. I love it here as does my partner, we would anywhere else.

Top quality food, drinks and service. I went for steak night with my friend. The garlic mushrooms are devine, the steak was plentiful, perfectly cooked and very very tasty. The sides where great, as was the peppercorn sauce. Great value for money, I will be back. Quality all round. New owner in here, this is a great gastro pub.

Dining Poor service . Food overcooked and dry . One menu give to a table of 12. Asked for alternative veg meal arrived with no veg . No explanation offered when asked about was told they didn't have it. Staff disorganised. One One out of two ladies toilets in use

Literal perfection the food never fails to amaze me it’s always well presented tastes absolutely amazing there’s no faults what so ever! Child friendly and the staff are so welcoming the service they provide is top notch. Wether you are coming as a couple or a family this is definitely the place.

Celebrated father-in-laws 80th birthday with a meal for 40 family and friends. Menu choice was excellent, the actual food was amazing - how they managed to cook so many steaks to perfection is testament to the chef skills. Atmosphere was very welcoming and brilliant service from kitchen, waiting and bar staff. Lee, Holly and team went above and beyond, nothing was too much trouble. We were a lively crowd and nothing fazed them. I cannot recommend the Woodlands highly enough for a function, a meal or drink and a chat with the friendly locals. Thank you, we will be back.

We stayed here in 2017 & had a wonderful time. So we booked again for a one night stay this weekend and again superb stay everyone so friendly. Good evening of disco karaoke and the locals and staff made us feel really welcome. We will definitely be back.
