Shibden Hall is a sight to be seen even though the day we visited fog clouded the skies. The path trailing up to the hall was long and winding yet peaceful and relaxing. The best kind of leisure walk to take with the family. As it was December the actual hall was closed to the public however the outdoor stone museum was open. Things such as shepherd huts and cattle prevented stone walls could be seen with many informative plaques. Nonetheless overall it was a joyous and enjoyable experience .

Nice place to visit - good for kids as not enormous. Has a boating lake and good cafe. House and outbuildings are very interesting and have a lot of character. Anne Lister the most famous owner but other interesting history too. More character profiles of staff and groundsmen would add to experience.

We visited Shibden Park for the first time today. Beautiful, clean, very big place. Children loved it which means parents also had a great day

Absolutely brilliant park for walks, has a great kids area and they love it. Lots of parking spaces which is good. They host funfairs and a yearly circus. Lots of places to see within. Great scenery. They have paddling and rowing boats also which you can hire. Loads of wildlife if you like tour pictures like me.

Really nice gardens to walk around and enjoy the wildlife. The pond has ducks to feed and boats to row.the tearoom is very good. There is a road train to take you up the hill to the house if you don't fancy the walk up the hill.

Lovely park would highly recommend for families or for something to do with your partner. Plenty of car parking. Very picturesque 🛶🦆👌🏻 if the sun is out, get yourself down to the boathouse and hire a rowboat or a peddelo

One of my favourite parks to visit. Grounds are immaculate and well kept. Chose a lovely sunny day to go and ended up staying for hours because we enjoyed it so much. Had a ride on the train exploring the grounds and a great experience on the boats rowing on the lake. If you've not visited then you need to would recommend it to anyone

Our favourite place for a day out, even when it's raining 🌧! Great space that allows you to chillax since it's extremely well looked after; cozy cafe with variety of options and friendly service🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟. Restrooms are at rear of the café when busy it could be a queue which might decrease if the toilets, near the children's playground, were open and working. Definitely a nice area to take your pets for a stroll.

Interesting place to visit and the park was lovely; full of different wild plants and alive with birdsong. With the hall museum, the park, wildlife, boating lake and play area there's something for nearly everyone.

Extrodinary house and condition for its age. A rich history and so much to see. Very friendly and attentive staff and Anne Lister, what a woman! Loved it :)

The grounds and parkland of Shibden Hall, home to Anne Lister. Rolling landscape, quite hilly. Parking. Café. Boating lake with lots of waterfowl. Kids playground. Woodland walks. You can walk around the Mere. Also has interesting dry stone walling exhibits, showing the variations in style - I never knew there were so many! My dad would have loved this, a volunteer at Loggerheads Country Park in North Wales, he had a passion and innate knack for repairing dry stone walls. Dogs on leads, because of the plethora of wildlife, but of course, there's always those rebellious owners who ignore the signage. Recommended. Good vistas of surrounding area.

An exceptional park offering various routes to explore. We enjoyed the open spaces and the forest area with our dog. There is a little green train that you can take from the bottom to get to the top and vice versa.

Lovely park, could easily spend a full day here. The park has numerous walking routes. There is plenty of parking with numerous cars located at different points across the park, very reasonable price wise £2 for full day. There is a nice modern cafe with a good variety of food and drinks to choose from which are reasonably priced. There are numerous toilet facilities throughout the park. The children's playground is divided into 2 sections, one perfect for toddler aged children and one for older children. Both in a good state of repair and well maintained. There is a small boating lake with a selection of boats and pedalos for hire, again reasonably priced. And of course Shibden Hall, I found the entrance price for the hall to be quite steep as from exterior is quite small in comparison to others I've visited.

For all the times I have been to Halifax (all my family are from there) I never knew this hidden Gem was there!!!! Fantastic walks around, with a playground for the kids. The house itself is amazing, rich in history. If you love historical places this one is worth a visit and it is reasonably priced too.

There is a very informative outside exhibition of dry stone walling in the park. There are tea rooms. A well-kept park adjacent to Shibden Hall

Lovely place. Great value for money and helpful staff. Only negative was lack of catering and small car park-many visitors didn't have cash and didn't want or couldn't download car park app

A most beautiful park with extensive grounds and facilities. 2 car parking areas top and bottom. Bottom is near the large modern cafe which if very popular and gets very busy. Parking is pay and display. Not too much. Is patrolled so make sure you pay. There's a train at £2.50 each boating and duck pond. Stream and vast grounds. Be sure also to visit Shibden Hall about £6 each. We'll worth it. Great family visit.

After watching the TV series Gentleman Jack we just had to visit Shibden Hall, the home of Anne Lister. We were not disappointed. The atmosphere was amazing. Its a photographers dream inside and out. Just to see simple things like her desk and papers on view was very special. Do visit if you get chance. The grounds are wonderful and pet friendly, and there is a very nice cafe inside the house. A larger cafe is a few minutes walk in the grounds.

A lovely place to go for a stroll around the grounds. Several pay and display carpark, can also pay via APCOA Connect parking app. Great for dog walks, large playground for young children, boating lake in summer and cafe. A lovely day out, ideal for picnics in a summer, beautiful in autumn too.

Parking is £1.50 for the day. There was a large car with an overflow. It's gravel underfoot do hard for mobility issues. There is a large cafe with toilets a range of snacks and ice creams. The ice lollys started at £2.50 ice cream from £3.50 per scoop. Lots of seating inside and out . There is a land train that takes you around the grounds. We didn't use this today but looked a great attraction. There is currently a fun fair too but we didn't go to that either. We had a lovely walk around the duck pond and stopped for a picnic along the way. The children enjoyed a go on the little singl paddle boats and didn't wait long for a turn and had a good amount of time in them. There are also rowing boats but we didn't go on those. Afterwards we headed up the the playground area, there is an public toilets here too. They were a bit smelly and not that clean but better than nothing. The playground is split into two areas one for younger kids and one for older kids. I had children aged 3x 2year olds and ,9yo with me and all had a great time. We then took a walk around the other side of the lake and went for a ride on the miniture railway. We could park up our pushchair and jumped on . The driver was lovely with the kids. We were charged £10 for the 5 of us . Everyone waved back at us the kids loved it!!😍🚂💖 We had earned snacks so went to the cafe the staff were really friendly and helpful. Looking forward to returning to look ok around the shibden hall and go on the land train!

Great park for families. Boating lake, play ground, road train and miniature railway. Plenty of room for picnics. Large cafe.

Best places to visit for anyone either alone or family place with huge children park, lake with enjoyable row boat ride - self row boats available, miniature train rides within the valley and Parkside. There is a long Land train if you would want to hover around entire park. But would suggest treks, walks along scenic mountain and hill side. The shibden Hall presents the history of the place with their museum home. Kids will enjoy their own hand pedal boats, it's a must if they are less than 10 years.

Such a beautiful place to visit. The Hall transports you back to a bygone era, much of it instantly recognisable when/if you watch 'Gentleman Jack'. The grounds looked like they would be stunning but were covered in snow, so we didn't see them at their best, and the Folk Museum is worth a visit too.

Beautiful Park. A little tricky to find your way in from main road but if you follow Shibden Hall, you will find it. Also for those less mobile, don't park in the first car Park but keep driving threw until you reach the cafe. Little train takes round the Park, which is great. Little pond with hire boats also available. You must try the Kelly's Icecream... Delitious 😍

Prebooked trip to the beautiful home of Gentleman Jack /Anne Lister. Afternoon (we were told) was quieter for visitors which was great for ‘tourist free’ photographs around the property. No guide… we were just left to it! Fascinating history (not just involving Anne) and the entire property/museum walk around took us about 90 minutes all in… excluding a very fairly priced cuppa at the museum cafe and some amazing flapjack!! (Cash only in the cafe). A great way to spend an afternoon and if the suns shining… pedalos for later!!

After watching the tv show Gentlemen Jack I wanted to visit Shibden . It was a good 25 minute walk from the train station. There are 2 car parks for those coming by car . The hall was everything I hoped it would be. We visited the cafe there for lunch. Good food and good service. Would recommend.

Always a great place to visit, even on on overcast winter day.

Lovely park with boating lake and miniature train. A land train is available to get from the top car park to the bottom, or vice versa. The play area has a few nasty people on so be careful and keep your eye on you little one. Parking is pay and display with wheelchair access from both sites. There is also a paddle boat area for your little ones to boat by themselves.

The wonders of the fascinating house may distract from the wonderful park but it is well worth exploring the area. There are well marked walks and the lake area has a miniature train ride and other attractions.

We came to visit Shibden Hall so the Park came as an unexpected but delightful bonus, £1:50 to park all day, excellent cafe and w/c adjacent to the boating lake, miniature railway (not working today) beautiful lawns and shady woodland walks. Large 🎪 circus & funfair setting up so will be very busy for the next few weeks.

Loved my 2nd ever visit to Shibden Park today. Beautiful scenery and beautiful weather. Highly recommended. Lovely people and lovely Dogs. Very well socialized. Best park I've ever visited. Such a gorgeous lake. And for the little ones a miniature train and railway. So cute. ❤️👏😃

A truly unique experience. A place of discovery. Take the local bus from Halifax or Bradford and discover a rare breed for yourself

Beautiful house, lovely visit with of course lots of information about Ann Lister. Rainy day but enjoyed our visit, volunteers were very informative in each room. The out buildings were Although really interesting, but a shame about the gardens and grounds which seemed very neglected. Presumably Covid will be the excuse for this, but that is no reason for people not to be working outdoors ...gardening etc. If not so unkempt, it would have been perfect 😊
