Always crowded but they have many shops around. A wide variety of Chinese food with reasonable price. The portion is big and recommend to come with a group of friends so can order more food. Must order 辣子雞。it was yummy. Love their appetisers too. 5 of us and we ordered 14 items. Truly enjoyed the food and it wasn’t costly. If you are around Chinatown, must visit this shop. Total bill is $133.30 with 2 beers, tea and warm water.

Food was quite good. Most of the skewers were quite juicy. Service was quite fast also. However the shop is quite stuffy and crowded. And the pork belly skewer was simply terrible. The pork belly skewer was dry, literally dry and hard. It's as if they air dried it for hours before serving it. Even our next table told the waiter that the pork belly wasn't here yet, which the waiter pointed at it... as they thought that was the cartilage....

I’ve lived in Taiwan and Asia for years and yet this was some of the best tasting Chinese food I’ve had for a few years. Very good service and amazingly tasty food. The cumin lamb was incredible, sweet and sour fish pieces was beautiful, beef fried rice was great and the lamb and beef and squid skewers were incredibly well cooked and tender and so tasty. Paired with a beer with my girlfriend and we both gorged ourselves on this awesome food. I can highly recommend it.

Was choosing a place for a quick gathering and decided on 东方美食。The food was good especially the 辣子鸡 and 锅包肉。The seating can get a bit squeeze for a big size group. Might be a good idea for them to provide something or some basket to put our bags). Overall the food is good and pair with beer, it will sure wash down the tiredness for the whole day. Definitely will return.

This restaurant has a big menu and there’s definitely something for everyone. You get the authentic vibes just driving past the restaurant with visible queue outside the restaurant. The outside tables along the side of the blocks were serene, and the waitstaff comes by here and then to check on us. As we were ok to sit outside and it’s just for a table of 3, we didn’t need to wait upon arriving at 7.15pm on a public holiday with the restaurant full and a decent queue formed. From order to service of the cold and cooked dishes was super fast though the skewers came via 2 batches and a long time between. The best dishes 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻for me were: Garlic Eggplant 🍆 Tiger’s Salad 🥗

Came here to eat 串串, and I am so glad I came here for my first ever experience! I was surprised how HUGE this establishment is considering they have 3 stalls along the main road and one at the back. The staff had to guide us along the streets to bring us to the next building where we will be dining in a triple storey building. Service was quick too! Waited for 15 mins only on a weekday 7pm for our 1st dish. 💧 Water & Wet tissues are chargeble. --------- The menu is very extensive and provides a myriad of choices from poultry and carbs to vegetables. And all of which are rather affordable. Our total bill came up to $97.40 for 3 people. The downside is they may miss out on a few sticks, so do keep track of what has arrived and what's not. 🥦 Fried Bean Sprouts (炒豆苗) It is lightly fried, which makes the sprouts still very fresh and crisp. It's very well seasoned, too (with msg), but so good. I rate: 4.5/5 🌟 🐔 La Zi Ji 辣子鸡顶 This was rather underwhelming compared to the reviews I've seen. Chicken was crunchy and very fragrant. But the chicken bits were really small and the chilli and peppercorn were not coming through. It's like eating mini fried chicken. I rate: 3/5 🌟 🍝 Fried Chicken Noodles For $5.50, this is a very good portion & flavour of carbs for sharing or ala carte. Noodles were a bit too cooked, in my opinion, and had the texture of Ramen. I rate: 3.5/5 🌟 🥟 Cabbage Dumplings 10 cabbage dumplings for $5.50 and its chewy skin wrapped with succulent meat. I'm pretty sure this is prepacked and boiled because I tasted something similar in Scarlett supermarket, ahaha. Nonetheless, the vinegar that went with it was really good too. I rate: 4/5 🌟 🍢 Skewers 串串 I won't go into details of every item, but for some, there is a minimum order quantity of 2. Our preferred ones are the Enoki with Pork, Corn, King Oyster Mushroom, Shiitake Mushrooms, and Pork Belly. The Man Tou Bun one is rather interesting because there is sugar on top. At an average of $1.80 per stick. I rate: 4.5/5 🌟

Great Variety Of Tasty Chinese Fare At An Affordable Price. One of my favorite restaurant in Chinatown that has all the comfort chinese dishes I love. Their Mapo Tofu is the best and their bbq skewers are super flavourful.. great with a glass if ice cold tsing tao beer! What I love about their dishes is they are simple, and tasted like home cooked. Can be super crowded even on a weekday dinner even if they have a ton of seats and occupies almost all the shophouses in this stretch of road so make sure to come early. Service is great and a bit loud at times which to me adds to the charm that you are in a neighbourhood chinese restaurant. Make sure you have cash or paynow as they don’t accept credit card. Communication with the staff can be a bit challenging but they do have some that can speak good english and most can understand english.

Deliciously done, served fast and piping hot! Flavorful and not overwhelming. Not costly at all, serving is plentiful. Skewers are served hot. Too much dishes to try in 1 seating. 10/10 will return with a bigger group!

I love the skewers so much!! They are grilled to perfection and seasoned so well and nice! Spoilt for choice by the amount of things we can choose. Enjoyed the fish soup as well. Big portion that is good for 3 people. Everything was enjoyable and the staff was friendly and nice. Overall a good experience!

Love the flavours of the food, though they're slightly on the salty/oily side. The wok hei was strong and I really enjoyed the vegetables and egg dish. 👍🏻 The highlight was definitely the skewers, which to me were really good value for the great flavours and portions given. And there were still a great deal of dishes we have yet to try... 😋

Actually my first time eat china Dong bei food is this restaurant. I would said their prices is really reasonable. Food is delicious too.. I would advise to ask for less oil and less salt or spicy. Would blame them because their traditional way of cook is like that. Just that I feel abit oily and salty for me. I will still come back for their food. 👍🏻👍🏻

Very popular restaurant that always has a queue on weekends and during meal time. Expect to wait for your seats. To avoid the crowd, come during weekdays off peak timing. The lamb skewers are the must orders. Other good options are beef & pork belly skewers. The menu has a big variety of dishes. Food is good & price is reasonable.

Trying this for the first time upon recommendation from friends. Food is slightly saltish, not spicy, however, delicious and savoury when paired with rice. The grilled items are a must order. Grilled mushrooms, mutton, beef, chicken feet, squid etc.. Super yummy! Will definitely be back again in the future!

Overall experience is just satisfactory. Food came very fast, telltale sign of pre prepared dishes. Sweet and sour fish came after all other dishes finish. Company policy, cannot cancel the sweet and sour fish.

Great service although long queue. Service was quick and managed to be very efficient. Popular store with a lot of people served the food within 15 minutes of ordering with top notch quality. Waitress were well trained and easy to communicate as they have radios so they were able to process our requests faster like serving the rice. Could improve on reservations for groups under 5 as they currently cannot make reservations. Thank you for being a good host and letting my family stay even after we finished our food for a great Moon Festival 2023!

There is a crowd even at 10pm, serving of the dishes is pretty fast, portion is big, price is reasonable. I think they tweak their spicy level to suit our Singapore taste buds, if want it spicier gotta let the server knows. The fried noodles is a bit bland. Overall can eat.. will be back next time to try their skewers!

Visited this place twice, and I must say the standard of Dong Bei cuisine is top-notch and decently priced, affordable! Most customers were from China, and this is how you know the food is authentic and good. Must try the sliced pork belly, lamb and chicken wing skewers! Also the clayplot cauliflower was just- chef’s kiss 🫡 Sweet sauce fried meat (锅包肉) was slightly tough, but had a nice crunch to it! Crowded from 7pm onwards, and a long queue will form then. If planning to visit, I would suggest coming around 5-6pm to avoid the dinner crowd!

Here has numerous delicious menus with quite cheap price. The place is very huge got a few different locations around but during dinner, the place is very crowded so the worker always let us seat at different places whenever we visit. I have tried guobarou 锅巴肉, laziji 辣子鸡, some skewers 串, and dumplings 水饺子. Everything was so delicious. It has really authentic Chinese flavour. I love to visit here. One thing is they charge the wet tissue fee so if you are not using then you can take home or ask to take it back so that they won’t charge you.

Long queues in the evening, but the food is really good and well priced. Huge menu with many different items available. Serves Traditional Tze Char style dishes with giant BBQ skewers that also competes in terms of meat choices and cuts. As table space is limited depending on where you are seated, you may have to eat faster to ensure that there will be space to place all the items you have ordered. It's a good change of pace to dine at when compared to the usual hotpot restaurants.

I feel like this restaurant dominates almost the entire Mosque Street in Singapore. My first time at the restaurant was at around 11pm and it was still full with people. It’s said to open from 11am to 2pm. You have to order bu scanning a QR code and you can order only once. If you wanna order the second time you have to ask the waiter to order it for you, directly from their phone. Then, once the food comes you will have to pay before eating the food. Quality: - Fried rice was on the average. 5.5S$ for a big portion. - Fried eggs with shrimp. S$9 was not really worth it. I was expecting a real shrimp mix, not just fried egg with some shrimps on top. - Dan dan Noodles. I don’t remember the price but it was also not very impressive, so-so. - Fried beans with shrimps. This was tasty, very garlicky and quite salty. Would goes great with white rice. - Most delicious and definitely a must try here: Lamb skewers. It only costs 1.3S$ per skewers and it is the most wonderful dish I ever had in my Singapore trip. Juicy, tender, the spices are just right. I came back the next day for them but the waiter told me to wait for 40 mins so i gave up. Please note that it’s very very crowded here as many Chinese (locals) and tourists come here.

东方美食 had some of the best Chinese food I've had in Singapore. There's a wide array of dishes and no lack of seating space as they own many outlets in the area. One of the dishes that we tried was the pan-fried meat (gou bao rou) that was deep fried lean pork meat with a sweet garlic sauce. The batter was very crispy and soaked up their sweet sauce quite nicely. They are also very generous with their portions of meat. However the meat inside was a little bland and could use some seasoning. Overall still a good dish. Next up we tried their spicy boiled pork. This dish was just amazing. Anyone who likes mala or spicy dishes in general should order this. The mala broth that the meat was boiled in was rich and spicy in a way that was much stronger and more aromatic that usual mala dishes. The meat was also nice and tender with the right amount of fat on it to soak up the mala flavour. This is available with other meats too. Next was the Beef fried rice. This was the one dish that didnt really do that well. It was bland and didnt have much taste at all. The beef chunks were also a little tough and not really seasoned. Would skip this in favour of noodles or just plain white rice. Lastly, we had the skewers. This is a must order when coming here. There are many skewers on the menu and we just ordered a few to share. Each skewer was very nicely flavoured with their spicy seasoning and had a nice char on it that gave it that intense smokey flavour. Of the ones I tried, the pork belly and beef skewers stood out to be the most tender and flavourful. Will be back to try other skewers in the future. All of the dishes were also very affordably priced and great to eat with a group of friends. 东方美食 is a nice place to try a different style of chinese food and i'll definetly be back to try more.

This is my third time visit this restaurant and this time round we sit at L2. Staffs are friendly and they served the food very fast, it took less than 15min to serve all our foods. Food taste quite standard and I like their BBQ stick. Usually very crowded on Friday. Other than that I think still ok. Easy to get sit.

Food 5/5 The food that this place serves, you’re practically taking a trip to China with all its food at your fingertips. It has cold and hot dishes ranging from all parts of China with their taste guaranteed. Personally I am not from China so I cannot vouch for its authentic taste however from my visit, there were a lot of Chinese ethnicity customers who all seem to be enjoying their meals, so I am pretty sure their food is of top quality. Service 5/5 Prompt and polite service, pleasantly surprised at the speed the food came. From the moment we sat down, choose, and placed our order, the food came in under 5 minutes. Ambience 4/5 Lively place filled with the sweet aroma of Asian delicacies. Overall 4.5/5 Great place for gathering with any group size of friends or family.

We went on weekday at 6 pm, with no queue at this time, but most of the seats were occupied. Service was attentive, and the food served was pretty fast, too. Most of the grilled items are tasty and well marinated, especially the chicken wings. Went again recently, and I loved their grilled breads 🍞 and Hui Gao Rou.

Highly recommend, best food we ate in Singapore. This place is very busy and there is almost always a line but it is 100 percent worth the wait, don’t be put off by the line. Service is organised and efficient. We are here two nights in a row because w wanted to try more dishes. Will definitely be back on our next visit to Singapore.

Food was super good. We were a big group so we were able to order several different dishes and share. Prices were also very good. The restaurant was really full and loud. Which is not great for the atmosphere but I would stilled totally recommend to visit.

Now I understand why this restaurant is that popular, especially to Korean tourists. 😆 They have magnificent varieties of food menus with great portion, reasonable price, not to mention good taste. Spice deep frued eggplant and Pan fried meat (which is actually deep-fried pork with sweet and sour source) make perfect match! 💕💕

  • 4/5 Javier T. 5 months ago on Google
This place is surprisingly good! They are super efficient with their food and seating arrangements! The few dishes that were spectacular is their Chuan Chuan and the Sweet and Sour Pork! The Sweet and Sour Pork was crispy despite the generous portion of sauce poured on the pork! The combination was delicious and portion was also huge!

  • 4/5 Tan S. 5 months ago on Google
generally food quality is better than the other outlet at the main road. the sour fish soup had really fresh fish pieces. the skewers were also nice and tasty. la zi ji was crispy and flavourful but unfortunately the amount of meat given was abysmal. The tomato eggs were simple but yummy. the tofu skin with pork was interesting, wrapped like a peking duck.

The food standard has drop abit compare the last trips I went about 1 year ago. Overall, it's still ok, but the crowd is heavy so be prepared to wait abit long for your sits. If u come in the group make sure all arrives first before enter to avoid long waits.

There are three branches of this restaurant, and we visited the original one. The staff are incredibly kind! I'm very pleased with both their food and service. My friend from Dongbei Province also enjoyed this place. The signature dish here is Guo Baorou, but we expected it to be more sour. Nevertheless, it's super crispy and delicious!

Decided to try out this place as seeing so many customers. The waitress brought us to the another branch at the side and sat us at 2nd floor. It's a cosy set up. Food was pretty fast and delicious. The snow beer was very shiok! The patterns cucumber paired with e spicy diced fried chicken is a good combination! Would definitely come back again and try other dishes!

This place is the crowded place around this area, expect to be good and delicious. The most delicious dish is grilled Mala stick. Rest of the item were so so. Price is quite expensive compared to the taste and quality, but serving portion is huge.

first time here as highly recommended by a friend. a lil hard to get a table during peak dinner hours (& we were here on a weds evening). the crowd probably gets worse starting friday through the weekend. saw tables filled with tourists of many different nationalities too! absolutely in love with the food! everything we ordered was yummy! must try their 地三仙、大拉皮、salted egg pumpkin、grilled pork belly wrapped enoki! the portions were generous, & pricing very reasonable. we got to pack home what the 3 of us couldn't finish 😋

  • 5/5 Kimberly P. 8 months ago on Google
There was quite a queue when we were there for dinner on a weekday. However, we got our seats fast enough. There is only 1 size for every dish n big serving for a couple. Cannot order too much variety cos won’t be able to finish if small eater. Good for group sharing. Food is fantastic n we really enjoyed it. Will definitely go back again.

An outlet of classic Dong Bei 东北 cuisine can be found. There are a great varieties of skewers, you can find all the usual from pork, mutton to beef etc. A great selection of vegetables and offals as well. The pork belly is a great option, the fat was almost melting in my mouth and the combination of meat and fat is of a perfect ratio. If you generally do not like very mutton taste, you can give it a try here. I could not detect any of that - it just taste “meat with seasoning” which could be good for some. The spicy sour fish is not overly sour or spicy. Generally all the dishes we tried are of standard. There is not one dish that we do not like.

We booked in advance so could a get a table for 5 almost immediately at 7.30pm on a Thursday! Highly recommend the salted egg cuttlefish (especially if you’re a fan of salted egg like me!). Loved the flavours and cuttlefish was not too chewy, perfectly tender and easy to bite. 锅包肉 when hot was also really crispy, with just nice amount of sweet and sour kick to it. However the meat was a little tough for my liking :( Didnt really enjoy the 小笼包 cos the skin was thicker and not much meat flavours. Skewers were also meh. Would come back here again if i crave :’)

  • 3/5 Tan Chen X. 9 months ago on Google
It was quite crowded when I went late noon was seated next to a group of korean tourists which made it seems like a pretty popular restaurant. However, food was just edible pretty average compared to other chinese restaurants in the area. Skewers was alright but not exceptional. Overall wouldn't come back again.

One of the best China food I ever had. Definitely must try their fried potato and the spicy chicken. Its so crowded during the weekends night and recommended to book before going there. It is my favourite spot and definitely will come here just for the food.

One of my go to place if I crave Chinese bbq with the boys. Food and pricing are both very decent. Sometimes the queue is long but they run a few outlets around the area and waiting time is usually not that long.

  • 4/5 SZ L. 2 years ago on Google
Food here was definitely towards the stronger tasting Chinese food. Loved the food and the affordable price tag. The 串 were more to the saltier side but just nice for me. The queueing system could be greatly improved.

2nd attempt to this place and finally had the chance to try out their food. Avoid going on Friday evenings unless you’re willing to wait for >1+ hours. Very generous portions, hence would recommend to come in big groups. Note that you will have to order min. 2 of the same skewers if they are below a certain value (can’t rmb if it’s $2 or $3). Environment is slightly on the rowdier side. Overall, a pretty nice experience.

  • 4/5 Siqiang Y. 11 months ago on Google
Food is nice but the seasoning made me very thirsty after eating. They have multiple shops around the area so if the location u went is full, they will send you to another shop. Place is crowded and our table was at level 2. I often wonder if there’s a fire, can I escape? Anyway, the price of the food is reasonable.

  • 5/5 Ant 1 year ago on Google
Came here for the skewers but the tofu w century egg is super nice too. Definitely come with a bigger group so you can order all the kinds of skewers! It was only two of us today so after sharing 10 sticks & 2 dishes we were full. Ordering is via QR so service was very efficient. The food was brought out pretty fast too despite the full house. Awesome

Love their skewers of pork, mushrooms and veggies. It's a MUST order in my list. Stir fry dishes taste good too. Their scallops with vermicelli is also a must order. Basically, I love their food. Happy food makes my belly happy. 😋

Location is amazing. Just go to Chinatown MRT station. It is just right at the exit. But I forgot is exit A or B. The food is cheap, a lot of choices. Most of the sticks is just one dollars. The beer is cheap too. Service is good, can't complain. They open until late night. A good place for lunch/dinner/supper.

Hearty Chinese meal open till late. Absolutely bustling at midnight. Prices very reasonable and quality is decent. Main thing is of course being able to go in the middle of the night to get a succulent chinese meal. You can of course find better meals but not at this hour.
