A Standard Tzechar Restaurant with air condition. As expected the items are more pricey. $18 for cereal prawn, the prawns are not very fresh but still taste good thanks to the cereal. The prawn is big but there is only 5 pieces ! The furong egg taste crispy and flavorful. The prawn paste chicken was crispy and juicy as well. Service was prompt overall the taste is above avg.

Very crowded on weekends. Tables are very closely arranged. The good thing is their service is efficient and steady. Despite crowded, food serve was quick and doesn't have to wait long. We ordered the seafood horfun and beehoon, bitter gourd black bean pork ribs, mince meat fried egg, hotplate tofu, cereal soft shell Crab and baby Kailan. All the dishes were delicious and flavourful. Not very salty and everything were fresh. Good food happy customers.

This place is quite popular with the locals. While the area is being upgraded, it is not very accessible. I do like the Prawn Minced Meat Rolls and Sweet Sour Sliced Fish are excellent options. Baby Kai Lan is too hard for older people. Coffee Pork Rib is a bit bland. Cereal Prawns are pretty lovely. Home-Made Tofu with Minced Meat is disappointing - while the meat is flavourful, the tofu doesn’t absorb the flavour, so you get a too salty feeling from the meat, but the tofu is tasteless. The salted fish fried rice is well received, so do try it.

The assam fish head has the right amount of spicy heat but could be a little more salty for my personal taste preference. The sweet and sour pork is nice and I liked the broccoli. The rest if the food is good but not spectacular. Serving size is generous.

Prawn paste chicken is very good! The soup for their fish soup is better at the mayflower outlet though but still decent.

Service is very friendly and helpful. Food tastes very good - everything is well seasoned! Our favorites were the Yang Zhou Fried Rice (ask for their sambal, it has a nice belacan flavour which goes well with the rice), the coffee ribs, and also their fish dishes like the Assam fish slice and Gong Bao fish slice. I don't like prawn paste chicken but they do it so light and non-oily here which is very rare! I think it's worth a try. The price point is very reasonable. Four folks with fried rice, fried hor fun, a fish slice, a veggie a pork rib and prawn paste chicken (and rice drinks) set us back $98.

Lovely place to it Hongkong food, such as Assam Fish Head, Cereal Chicken, Chicken Wings, Prawn Paste Chicken, Tofu with Minced Meat, etc. Located in Novena area, this is a lovely restaurant to visit for sure if you like Chinese/Hongkong casual food. Affordable price also.

A chain tze char outlet which you can find across the island. Though not all outlets serve good food. Affordable tze char fare along novena. Nothing to shout about but its definitely above average. The restaurant was considerably filled on a Sunday night at 8ish when other restaurants were closing for the day. If you're in the vicinity and looking for some tze char, I'd recommend this restaurant.

Brilliantly executed plate of Sam lor hor fun! Good amount of wok hei, although not evenly distributed. Sauce was tasty too. Fish was generous and was quite affordable! Roselle tea was quite sweet but strong in flavour to me (unable to adjust the sweetness). Best to reserve in advance as the place was almost full during dinner, was only left with outdoor seating.

A reasonably priced restaurant with good tasting Chinese food. The oil soaked croaker fish was super crispy. We crunch crunch crunch almost every part of the fish. The sauce was not too salty and just nice to eat on its own without rice. The braised brinjal was really flavouful and umami, best to eat with rice. Will definitely go back again.

Had Fried Fish Thick Vermicelli Soup (with milk) for $8.00 (before gst). Broth was deliciously sweet, thickness and texture of noodle was nice, fish was fried without thick batter. Will be back again.

Dine in and has been a regular supporter even during covid times when not even a single customer stepped in. However, we will BOYCOTT this restaurant for now, never step in from now on. Now when the crowd has returned, the owner charges 70cents for a 500-600ml glass of water and it is NON REFILLABLE ! The menu is misleading and cheats their customers, it is not clearly indicated in the menu if the water is by per glass and if its refillable or no. They also charges service charge. The PRC lady lead even proposed to us to order Chinese tea at $2.50 (upgrade from 70 cents) and gives us free glass to ice?! Perhaps the owner is very lazy to mobilise his staff to refill water and prefers to make more money or cheat his customers by charging another 70cents per glass of water or upsell other drinks. He might as well charge $1 per glass or $2 per glass and it’s REFILLABLE ! A Wannabe restaurant standards but charges like big boys (ie. Jumbo, Imperial Treasures, Paradise etc) Branded restaurants only charges abt 50-70cents per glass and is refillable with good service rendered. Horrible service ! A restaurant that doesnt care abt their customers will not last long.

I remember there was a period some years ago, when there were quite a few branches all over Singapore. And there were also "variations" of the name. As with most fads, many of these restaurants have since disappeared, but this particular branch still remains, and is very popular. That's because the food here is very good and tasty, of course. This is one of my go to places for fried fish bee hoon soup. The soup is thick, milky, smooth, creamy, and filled with flavour. The fried fish and vegetables are generously portioned and tasty. The 三捞河粉 or Sam Lao Hor Fun, is also delicious. The Hor fun has a light wok hei which makes it even tastier. One of our favourite vegetable dish here is the French Beans with Minced Meat. The french beans are stir fried perfectly and still retains its crunchiness. The minced meat and mushrooms provide a gorgeous umami boost we could not stop eating it. Drop by during off peak hours to be assured of a table. It's definitely worth checking out.

Good service n delicious tze char, signature San lao hor fun lives up to it's name. Minus 1 star because chicken essence frog legs was very tough and rubbery probably because it's frozen

I enjoy my black bean sauce hor fun and prawn sauce chicken alot. The coffee pork ribs was not to my liking as it was too bitter. The price was reasonable and definately will return

Was introduce by the supplier, claimed their sliced fish bee hoon is nice. Stepped in and first noticed all their service staffs are from China. This giving me first thought of their food standard (could be basing on China standard). Not very busy even around 6:30pm but I could see number of walk-in to ordering taking away food. Ordered the sliced fish bee hoon, sum lor hor fun and coffee pork ribs. The soup of the sliced fish bee hoon is good as they put in some Chinese wine that created a nice fragrant, but this dish lose out is the fish that used. You will not able find the smooth and soft taste. About their Sum Lor. The way they prepare just like you ordered the hor fun from any others stall. I will prefer the dry type. Coffee pork ribs is very much well prepare and cooked. The meat is soft and skin is a bit crispy and with the coffee sauce mixed, it is very nice. This dish I will recommend to take a try. Hopefully, we will stop by again someday to try the rest.

Better call/WhatsApp to book in advance. Quite fast in response. 三捞河粉 the best, as what many reviews put. Prawn might be a bit let down. Fish got promo now so won’t miss it. Other than that, it is a typical Zi char in Aircon

Hearty dishes and it's for money. I like the coffee ribs coated in rich sauce yet not overpowering. Prawn paste chicken are very crispy, wings are quite meaty. Homemade tofu, assam fishhead & veggies are great too!

My first time eating here and the San Lou hor Fun was superb! Portion was huge for $7, value for money!! The home-made barley drink wasn’t too sweet, just right! Will definitely come back again!! Highly recommended!!

The restaurant was packed, probably the reason why 1 of the staff was disgruntled.. she slammed our drinks on the table & was a little rude. The dishes were delicious.
