Apparently they decided to close 15 minutes early. The lady left me at the drive through menu board for 5 minutes so I drove to the window and the older women stated “ I should have said something when I heard you there but I didn’t, we are already closed we decided to close early bye” OK

What a great place! I hadn't had Greek food in a while and decided to give it a try. Terrific! Friendly staff. Nice environment and very Greek. Delicious food. We had two gyro plates with fries, a drink and a spinach puff pastry for about $30. This food is authentic Greek and amazing! Highly recommend this place. Pictured is the puff which was so fresh and flaky - heavenly!

At last, dine in is open again and I can return to my true love, the gryo platter from Nick's. It's been a few years, old friend, and I missed you most ardently! *This has been sightly dramatized for effect* As always, Nick's doesn't disappoint. Quick, delicious food, friendly workers, clean restaurant.

I would highly recommend dining in. The place is SPOTLESS. Inside is painted in semi-gloss blue and white (ώπα!!!) Nick's makes most of its revenue from the elephant line of lazy South Dakotans who can't do a 30 min jog.. How ever the drive-thru line on average is 10min wait. (Nick has to go fell a cow for you...lol Actually that's very good for food made to order. Comparable to popular Gyro Time or bigger chains like Mad Greek) The menu is simple. Gyros or Burgers ... Has your staple Spanakopita and Baklava. The Gyro is simple (basic pita, gyro meat, sliced onion, tomato, and a garnish of 2 olives and piece of feta. Fries come off the fryer pretty crispy. Fries are fries, don't complain the serving size, fried food is BAD for you anyway ... They do have sides but who cares about those, you're here for the Gyro Plate (not the 6" Gyro Sandwich) RIGHT?! For a Gyro joint in SOUTH DAKOTA it's pretty fun. Food is swell, the service is fast and professional, and the townies love it. It's Gyro joint, not. Bistro... You will not get Moussaka here so don't find reasons to whine, The food is good, that's all you need to know. Nick's has been around for a while because the service is consistent and food is hot when served. Pricing is not too steep but you are paying for a spotless dining room, decent food, and a quiet atmosphere to escape the normies and not-so-based townies in Sioux Falls. You'll enjoy the dining room more than the drive-thru and it's close to plenty of shopping and other food chains to keep the prices reasonably good. Nick's is the place you go to avoid the daily grind, long lines and ridiculous wait times.

I’ve tried gyros at many different places. If there’s a gyro on the menu, that’s what I’m trying. I’ve had them at state and local fairs, chain restaurants like Arby’s, and Greek Restaurants around the U.S. and I’ve got to say that the gyro sandwich’s at Nicks are the best I’ve had anywhere and their cucumber sauce is also second to none. It certainly doesn’t hurt how generous they are with the amount of meat they put in them either! If you get one, you have to dine in. I swear they lose some magic if you take them to go. When the dining room was closed during COVID I thought they changed something but then when I dined in again, it was still the best!! Get the gyro and get a side of feta cheese to crumble up on top and finish it off with their red hot sauce. So good! I guess if you get the gyro plate it comes with the cheese but if you get the gyro by itself you have to ask for a side of feta? I don’t really get that because the feta is for the gyro, not the fries that come with the plate, right? Oh well… Service is always pretty fast which is amazing because I don’t know if I’ve ever seen more than 3 people working at a time. They seem to be very efficient at what they do. Staff there is kind and courteous. The woman that always seems to work the register has been there a long time and she’s always so patient even with difficult customers. The owner is there working often as well which is always good to see. The chicken gyro’s are good too (that’s what my wife always gets) but for me, you gotta get the classic… that’s the best. My son always gets the cheeseburger which he seems to like well enough. I’ll probably never get a burger there but it’s nice they have something for the picky unadventurous eaters amongst us, like young kids. I want so bad to give them 5-stars and I would but I am just not a fan of their crinkle fries. I’m sure some people love them but for me they are just not flavorful and kinda mushy. If I do get them, I eat my gyro over the top of them first so all the stuff that falls out ends up over the top of the fries, top that all off with their hot sauce and then eat them with a fork and then they’re not bad but, I can’t eat them by themselves. All in all, this is one of my favorite spots in town. If you’ve never been, you’re missing out!!

I have always loved Nick’s. I have been going there for the last 10 years. I ordered 5 gyro sandwiches today and 3 out of the 5 were wrong. When I called to let them know they didn’t offer me any sort of compensation. I still give them 4 stars because their food is always good but not acceptable what happened today. I hope today isn’t repeated because I love to support local businesses.

Great Gyros!!!! Amazing flavors and fresh ingredients. Probably the best Gyro in Sioux Falls. Clean store. The fresh fries and salads are always a go to here. Helpful service and unique place for fun food and a good atmosphere. I am a fan of the chicken gyro, you can't go wrong with that! Enjoy!!

Nicks gyro sandwich with fries and extra white sauce is what's pictured. They have so many delicious options! Love their gyro fries and gyro platter. Their onions and tomatoes are always fresh, and the gyro meat is cooked to perfection. Always friendly staff and great owners.

Nick’s is one of my favorite places in Sioux Falls. The food is excellent and the service is always great!

Believed the food looked an was of the amount as in photos on the menu. Three small squares of cheese, six small slivers of green pepper, one slice of tomato chopped in twelve pieces, three olives, definitely not cucumber dressing. No thank yous when paying or giving tip..no hair nets on long diffinately dirty hair.

What an amazing meal all around! Upon arriving in the drive through I informed the lady it would be a few minutes as my boyfriend and I had never been there before. She said no problem take your time. While studying the menu a gentleman named Jamie came out side to my car to walk us through the menu and answer any questions we had! Upon his recommendations we ordered gyros fries and a gyro. We also purchased a side of humans and baklava. When paying the lady at the window was upbeat and friendly. We thanked them for their help and left for home with our food in hand. Nicks gyros did NOT disappoint! This is one the the best meals we have had in a long time! The fries were crisp the meat was tender and don’t even get me started about the sauce and hummus. 12 out of 10 would recommend! Thank you Jamie and the entire Nicks Gyros staff for making our first meal with you guys a success! We are sold and will be back regularly!

We’ve been customers for years and have always enjoyed the gyros. However we went to dine in last night and hours were posted open until 9pm we arrived at 8:25pm. So we go to counter to order and my husband tells the lady what he wants and she’s like “you’re ordering this to go right?” And my husband and I look at each other like huh? And she continues “cause our lobby is closing real soon” and I asked looking at my phone for the time “how soon is that?” And she says “5 minutes” then says “well we wouldn’t kick you out” semi annoyed. So I said “no nevermind I wanted to sit and eat not in my car” and we left. If you’re going to close your dining area a half hour before posted closing time have that stated somewhere. We were on our way to a movie so was annoyed we wasted time stopping in.

Best Gyros I have ever had, way underpriced.

  • 3/5 Monica S. 3 years ago on Google
Average at best. We ordered the gyros. My husband and I each got 1 piece of feta and 2 olives. The meat had good flavor but overall not very good for the price. We would go elsewhere for gyros in the future.

My wife got me hooked on their gyros I've only had a gryo one other time and was not impressed. These ones the pita is nice and warm meat if flavorful and tender and the service is always fast.

  • 4/5 Big Beautiful T. 9 months ago on Google
Not super impressed. Odd that fried are $3.00 as a side but they charge $5.00 for upgraded to "plate" which includes THE SAME piddly amount of fries. There is nothing more added to the "plate" deal. Did not notice that until i took pics of the menu boards. Didn't bother complaining...just wont go back. Very clean place though, well taken care of!! Staff...ok, not very cheery or friendly...the gal complained a lot about rain. I just laughed as she kept going on about it. The lamb spam was typical processed stuff. The cucumber sauce wasnt anything special as a lot of folks say. But im very finicky to Gyros...had then all over the country and on the pier in Dubai and Bahrain....so im judging against those standards. It was a good amount of meat...but not 10$ worth. Or $15 with the $3 fries and 2$ Styrofoam plate added in i guess..lmao. oh and the baklava...good price, good flavor...but just a bit to dry to me.

Pros- Great food and awesome staff. The owner is a really nice guy. Cons- if your lactose intolerant, avoid eating here..really messes with your gut. And very pricey for a fast food joint, two meals is almost $40.

more than half of they items on the menu were not available because they decided to turn the machine and they take for ever to make the meal

  • 3/5 Nikolas P. 1 year ago on Google
It was ok.. the taste was nice, but the quantity was not, as were the flies going around the table... BTW, this meat is not gyros, not by Greek standards. This is Döner, it's the Turkish method. Oh, and the fries were soaked in oil, they were weirdly crunchy on the outside but juicy (oily) on the inside..

Amazing experience. Due to issues with my bank and traveling, my card got declined. The lady in charge of the drive through today payed for it out of her own pocket. She was super nice! The only thing close to a criticism would be that turning a sandwich into a basket is an extra $5 an all you get for it is about 10 frys (maybe $1 worth). That part doesn't make any sense.

I've been enjoying Nick's Gyros since they were next to the Target store. I think it's been 28 or 29 years. Very good food, customer service is great.

My family has been eating here since they were in their old location and quality hasn't changed. The employees remember you -- and are so good at suggesting things to try if you've never been. I've brought multiple friends here for their time time trying it and they've been converted. I love the gyro plate + fries and the baklava & custard are must haves for dessert. The tzatziki sauce is so good, like I can't tell you how good it really is. Definitely get extra!

This is amazing food and the staff was so friendly. My car broke down in the parking lot and it was a hot day and they asked if everything was okay and we told them about the car and they brought out water for us free of charge. They even let us order on foot through the drive thru, since it is during covid 19 the inside was closed but the drive thru was open. I would highly recommend 100% they have really good fries, the gyros were great as well.

Great location and clean environment. Went here for a mother's day meal with my mom and ordered their gyro burger. Great flavor and plenty of gyro meat to go around. The gyro plate my mom had could of used more olives and feta; plenty of tomato and onion. The white sauce is excellent with anything on their menu and the greek fries are also very good. Will be back. Superior.

I ordered a Gyro salad with onions and extra feta cheese and olives. And I was not disappointed at how much they put on! I ordered the extra chunks of feta cheese and not the chopped up feta cheese and they were happy to substitute and it was perfect. They don’t overload the salad with lettuce and very little of anything else… Instead they give you nice fresh veggies and a ton of meat. So much meat that I can put part of it away for a sandwich later. When they hand me that salad I am always surprised at how much it weighs! Two containers salad dressing. I was happy to see they were wearing masks and I saw one girl changing her gloves. They have the best iced tea in town, too. The staff remembers me and treats me so well. When I order things without the styrofoam containers, trying to be a little earth friendly… they don’t complain at all. And the outside grounds and flowers are just unbelievably beautiful. I highly recommend giving it a chance if it’s just that little blue and white building you pass by all the time! Stop in!

I really cant describe how amazing this place is-the spinach puffs are to die for, theres something for everyone and its authentic- the real deal for greek dining. And everytime i go the staff is super friendly. Its my husbands favorite.

Love the food just hard to know when they are open. Seems as employees stop taking orders when they see fit. Should still be open for another 45 mins today.....nobody home.

  • 4/5 Amanda H. 3 years ago on Google
Good gyros. If you order the platter you get some olives and a chunk of feta and fries. If you order the sandwich by itself you dont get feta or olives :-( Prices are higher than I expected. But the quality is good.
