Had the Poort Van Assen uitsmijter and a cup of tea after a visit to the museum. Nice comfortable restaurant will come back. The salad was very nice too.

The poort van assen at first glance is just another cafe. Im glad to say i was wrong; not only is it a fantastic place to relax with friends and have a snack during the day, but they produce the most amazing meals! Portion size is fantastic. The food was presented with care and attention of a Mich. Starred restaurant!. Meat fish and vegetarian options. Staff were friendly, courteous and made it a relaxing evening out. A must try for those visiting assen.
