Obnoxious service and attitude. I was at the airport with my father, who was indeed very ill/ last stage of cancer, when some of the airport staff called an ambulance from that hospital. To begin with, they confiscated all his luggage, including the suitcase itself, wheelchair, very personal-family staff, which were packed in the suitcase and handed me 2-3 faded sweaters in a plastic bag. Their forecast was that he's got left 10 days life max., but no, I was not allowed to see him for a last time under ANY circumstances in the ER. I had to return to London unfortunately, a week later he passed away and I was told that should the body not be collected within 48 hours, he'll be classified as a John Doe, a police investigation will trigger and his body will be passed to Forensic Medicine department for the medical students to practice autopsies. No comment. I would like to give a special thanks to Iva Galeva on this occasion - not a doctor, but a social/ family relations, I think (?!) -who seemed to be the only person with humane approach, and thanks to her we managed to handle this absurd situation. Off-subject: a few days after my father's death his Bulgarian bank account with funds in it, was closed by the BG authorities, completely disregarding his family. I've left Bulgaria more than 20 years ago, and now more than ever, I detest this doomed country.

In 2017 I have been asked for a 20 leva after an emergency med. treatment which later turned out that they cannot, went back to hospital and found the doctor, lady around 60s.,asked her why did you take this money (the way letting others to hear) since I am with my insurance coverage!? what happened is she told me in a whispering way to go inside with her, and then took 20 leva out of her pocket and gave to me, if you are a foreigner be more careful that they think who doesn't speak local language good are also gullible fools.

The luxury ends with the entrance room of the emergency - there is AC which is amazing innovation for most of the hospitals. The rest is as good as its supposed to be - slightly old equipment, not enough beds, the lack of shop to buy water or food on Sunday and so on. But it's very clean, the staff is more friendly than in the most hospitals (there are still grumpy ladies ofc but way less than expected) and the usual sad, crowded, hopeless atmosphere is missing. Everything happens smoothly and professional, which is most important I believe. I'd recommend to "visit" if you have an emergency.

You all are very fortunate to have been treated here. If you leave a bad review, you're a self conscious dog. This blonde, young woman... She is a doctor. I will never forget her. She saved my life. And checked up on me the day after. If it wasn't for her. I would have been dead on December 28th, 2020. She immediately took care of me when they brought me in having a seizure.

I waited for 3 hours whilst almost dying, no one paid attention!!! Then I went to another hospital.

The two times I've been there I went into the ER (as companion). The first time the wait was grand. The second, we discovered they don't have emergency eye doctor, but they were able to tell us where to find one (Aleksandrovska Hospital).

A recurring lung thrombosis emergency got me to St. Anna's Pulmonology ward in November 2017. It took the good doctors there 16 (that's SIXTEEN) HOURS to administer ANY anticoagulants. Spent the next four days skipping on the terrible food and having incredibly demeaning spats with the staff and witnessing at least six lifeless bodies leaving the ward. You can imagine my utter cognitive dissonance after I was admitted to the Cardiology Clinic, three floors below. Try getting from 18th to 21st century in an instant. The really great IV surgeons (they access hearts and lungs with wires through your veins and arteries) greatly improved my life-threatening conditions, nurses treated me as human; food did not improve though. Still, if you need your pump fixed, this is definitely the place. Thank you, prof. Velchev!

Admirations to the doctors, nurses and orderlies who are always on duty helping people and saving lives in this very difficult situation for all. Gratitude for the help to me and my daughter in the ER on a Sunday with so much work on their shoulders!

This hospital in few words: hours of waiting time in queue! (By the way the queue doesn't even matter, because doctors and nurses just yell "somebody for bandages" and the whole queue starts rushing in... so even if you are the first on this queue, you might be the was to enter the cabinet...)
