It is very old temple in Solapur. Temple premises are kept clean by the authorities. Very peaceful place right beside the lake. Early morning or evening would be the best time to visit. Good parking space near the lake.

A Siddheshwar Temple is located at the heart of the city. It is surrounded by a large water tank. It is believed that Sri Siddharameshwar dug the lake himself, when all the holy rivers came and asked for permission to reside in the lake, thus making it sacred. In Shravan, many devotees have been visiting a temple. On Monday the temple gets full of devotees. Siddharameshwar was a great contributor to Lingayatism religion and he is considered as one of the five prophets of Lingayat sect. Siddheshwar temple at Solapur is a renowned temple for followers of Lingayat sect. The fair is celebrated from 12th to 16th January. The principal day of the fair is 14th January. Shri Siddheshwar is the Gramdaivat of Solapur city. The Siddheshwar temple was built by a yogi, Shri Siddharameshwar, who was a devotee of Sri Mallikajuna of Srisailam. It is said that the shrine was built 600 to 700 years back by the Habbus who were disciples of saint Shri Siddharameshwar. Shri Siddharameshwar himself attained Jeeva Samadhi in the temple complex itself, and his Samadhi itself draws a lot of crowds. Shri Siddheshwar temple is dedicated to Lord Siddheshwar, who has other forms as Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu.

The Siddeshwar Temple in Solapur is absolutely amazing. If your planning to visit solapur you must visit it, you will get amazed by its beauty and historical significance. This temple is not only the oldest in Solapur but also holds a special place in the hearts of the locals. Surrounded by a serene lake, the temple offers a peaceful and tranquil atmosphere that is perfect for spiritual reflection. The architecture of the temple is breathtaking and the intricate carvings and designs are a true testament to the skill and craftsmanship of the artisans of that time. The temple grounds are well-maintained and the surrounding area is clean and well-kept. The view of the temple from across the lake is simply stunning and makes for a perfect photo opportunity. The spiritual energy of the temple is palpable and I felt a deep sense of peace and calmness as soon as I entered the premises. The priests and staff were friendly and welcoming, adding to the overall positive experience. I highly recommend visiting the Siddeshwar Temple in Solapur for anyone interested in history, culture, and spirituality. It truly is a gem of a place and I am grateful to have had the opportunity to visit. It's a must-see destination for anyone visiting Solapur. Inside temple you will find : Drinking water , washroom, Garden, Prasad shop, statue & articals stores.

Siddheshwar Temple is a temple in Solapur district, Maharashtra, India. It is sacred to Hindus and members of the Lingayat faith. There is a lake within the temple complex. Located amidst a lake further flanked by Bhuikot fort, Siddheshwar temple is sacred to Lord Siddheshwar, who is considered as an incarnation of Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu. The temple is highly revered by the devotees as it is the place where Shri Siddheshwar attained Samadhi. In the main temple complex, there is a beautiful sanctum, which features the idol of Siddheshwar. Also in the main courtyard, there are 68 shiva lingams, which were installed by Lord Siddheshwar. Amrit Linga and Lord Ganesha temples are special mentions. Silver-plated Nandi, and the temple of Vithoba and Rukmini along with the various other gods are a part of the temple. Siddheshwar Temple is a temple in Solapur district, Maharashtra, India. It is sacred to Hindus and members of the Lingayat faith. There is a lake within the temple complex. The temple is dedicated to its namesake Siddheshwar, a twelfth-century devotee of Shiva who is considered a prophet in the Lingayat faith and the grāmadevatā of Solapur. It is at the temple's site where he is recorded as having attained samadhi, and as such the location is revered by devotees. Upon achieving samadhi in 1167AD, Siddeshwar buried himself alive. A marble tomb exists at the centre of the temple today. Siddheshwar is attributed to having installed 68 Shiva lingams in the main courtyard; the amrit (immortality) linga being one of them. There are several smaller temples within the complex, such as ones dedicated to Ganesha, Vithoba and Rukmini. Additionally, within the sanctum of the main temple complex there is an idolic effigy of Siddheshwar. A silver-plated figure of the mythological bull nandi is also present.

A very sacred religious place. Like the Golden Temple in Amritsar, this temple is in the middle of a lake. There is water all around. The temple is surrounded by the Bhuikot fort. The surroundings have been vastly improved. At the same time, there is a laser show here. All these things make the temple and its surroundings very spectacular. Visitors to Solapur must visit the temple. The special thing is that the temple is located in the central location of the city. Bus stand, railway station is very close from here.

A peaceful place with a gorgeous garden. The mandir consists of samadhi of God Siddheshwar. There is a special train 🚂 as Siddheshwar Express. The temple is surrounded by a beautiful lake with lotus in them. The temple is still under construction. The temple's small model of architecture is made available for devotees to see how the temple is going to transform in the upcoming years. Inside the temple taking photos is not allowed but from outside we can take pictures. Autos (rickshaw) are also available outside the temple. Stalls are available outside in front of the temple gate to buy some religious objects.

Siddarameswara or Siddheshwar or Siddarama was one among the five acharya("saint") of the Lingayat faith. Siddheshwar was a great contributor to Lingayat religion. He was a great mystic and a Kannada poet who was a part of Basavanna's Lingayatrevolution during the 12th century. His philosophy was one of service to mankind, the path of karmayoga. Siddarama was instrumental in saving the vachana literature from destruction. Siddharama (c.1150) claimed to have written 68,000 vachanas out of which only 1379 are available.[1] Along with Basava, Allama Prabhu, Devara Dasimayya and Channabasava, Siddharama is regarded as the most acknowledged and respected poets.[citation needed] Vachanakaras wrote in the genre of Lingayats , under Kannada literature from the mystic period. He shares the world view of other vachana poets in his rejection of blind conventions of caste and sex discrimination and emphasis on realization through personal experience. He too borrows Metaphors from diverse spheres of everyday life. Apart from vachanas,he has written several devotional works in tripadi. writing three-line verse, used from the 7th century.

Siddarama was the son of Muddanna and Suggaladevi, born in Solapur, Maharashtra. When Siddarama was seven years old, Shiva appeared in the guise of a Jangam Swamiji and called himself Mallinath from Srisailam. The place where Mallinath met Siddharam is known as 'Gurubhet', which is now in front of the Collector's Bungalow in Solapur. This Jangam requested Siddharama to serve him hot fried tender Jowar. Next he demanded curd-rice in order to soothe the burning sensation in his stomach. Siddharama ran to his home and asked his mother for curd-rice. On his return to the fields, he searched for him, shouting, "Mallayya, Mallayya" did not find him. There he inquired the Kawadi Jangams who were on a pilgrimage to Shrishail. They promised to show him Mallayya. His quest for Mallayya made him determined to go to Shrishail.

The Sidheshwar Temple in Solapur is a famous and ancient temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is situated on the banks of the Siddheshwar Lake, also known as Siddheshwar Talav. The temple is a significant pilgrimage site for devotees and attracts a large number of visitors throughout the year. The temple's architecture and the serene surroundings make it a peaceful place for worship and contemplation. If possible visit it after Seven in the evening. You have less people and it looks more magical.

Shri Shidfheshwar Temple is a landmark serene religious place, a must visit place in Solapur! A huge complex of temples with a Great temple and lovely surroundings in front of a lake. It is pleasant place to visit in the evening or morning. One thing I don't understand is they make you remove your footwear almost 300 to 400 metres away n walk barefoot which is very uncomfortable in afternoon or even during day time till evening. And what do they achieve by doing so? Of course anyone will remove footwear before entering the temple, but why so far away? It would be better if local guides are available or some means to provide more information and history of the temple. Over all it was very blissful experience. After this darshan, we went for evening Light and Sound Show which is just walking distance, opposite to the temple which is another nice experience. LIGHT AND SOUND /MUSIC SHOW @ SOLAPUR There is not proper information or phone numbers available online about this interesting programme. This lazer show of light and sound is held everyday close to Shri Shiddheshwar temple at Solapur on opposite side of temple across the lake. There is no details or phone number available. From 7.00 to 7.30 pm the programme is in Marathi and from 7.30 to 8.00 pm the programme is in Kannada. In case you do not understand Marathi and Kannada then you may not enjoy the programme. Compared to Light and Sound shows I have seen at Somnath temple, Delhi near Red Fort, Delhi Swaminarayan Temple, Jaypur Fort etc this may not sound great nor interesting. There is not much entertainment. It is more like a documentary giving history of Solapur, details of places of tourist attractions in and around Solapur and some publicity of Smart City project of Central Government and joint efforts of Government of Maharashtra. The lake area and surrounding walking track etc nice to enjoy quiet evening. Reflection of lighting of Shiddheshwar temple in lake looked beautiful! It is worth visiting this place. Tickets for show are Rs 30 per adult. HARISH THAKKER GOOGLE GUIDE
