Great experience for those interested in the Great War. Walking the WWI battlefield does require some hiking, and a couple of hours. I thought the hike was well worth the time taken. Between the memorial, the trenches and bunkers, the smaller memorials, and the views I found it all very rewarding.

The landscape here captures the brutality of war...nature highlights the peacefulness and beauty of the region...an inspiring Memorial to the numerous fallen warriors of WWI.

What a lovely place to visit! Filled with so much history, you can hike the various routes between the trenches and visit all the different buildings. There is a restaurant/ information centre at the beginning before departing as well as a museum you can visit too. Spare 2-3 hours to enjoy the full experience

This world memorial was very overwhelming. Not only did you have the many burials in the cemetery, the whole mountain was left as it had been at the time of the battles. You could go up and examine the mini shell holes, the trenches, and see the leftovers from the battles. There were a number of pieces of metal that still showed the bullet holes directly above the trenches. There was something truly surreal about the fact that this was a location of so many deaths, and yet the woodlands were so beautiful. It is quite a hike, but worth it, to get a sense of what the war must have been like.

Absolutely amazing mountain to climb. Paths are narrow and at places steep, and not for taking 83 year old granny with you. Take water and a flashlight with you!! Beautifull vieuws, many small bunkers, and a few routes to, and around the summit. The sematary is also worth a visit to pay your respects to the fallen. All in all, absolutely worth the climb. Will visit again!
