The property was awarded Tripadvisor - Travellers's Choice 2020. 1. Category 5 2. Valet parking: available at 15000 KRW. 3. Dining: Charr Restaurant (4th floor), Tartine (Coffee Bar), Tokki Bar (Cocktail Bar), Side Note Club (Rooftop Bar) 4. Executive Lounge: NA 5. Fitness: Available, Swimming Pool & Sauna: NA 6. Guest Rooms Creator Room (1 King or 2 Double): 27 sqm Editor Room (1 King or 2 Double): 35 sqm Director Suite (1 King): 43 sqm Producer Suite (1 King): 58 sqm * Art Suite (1 King): 73 sqm (785 sqft) 7. Benefits for Platinum elite or above members: Free Breakfast in Charr Restaurant for 2 adults (and Children under 12) Welcome gift (Wine+Snack) or 1000 point per stay. <Feature> Hardware: Looking like W hotel, but it is more contemporary and artistic property. The room condition for Art Suite is fancy, very spacious and well equipped with every necessary facilities. Especially the big dining table and spacious sofa and bathroom are very useful. The closeable separate wall is also helpful for privacy between living and bedroom. There is a weakness that it is not easy to control ventilation and indoor temperature. But I believe that it is wonderful Suite Room, recommendable especially for couples and family. Software: The ambience is vigorous and cheerful. Even though the staffs look young and without uniform, do not estimate that they are inexperienced. They are kind, professional and very attentive on the guests. Special thanks to Ms. S.Y. Jung and Ms. Tina Yoon (Guest Leader) for their top notch service. Breakfast menu style is A La Carte (1 entree per person) and Dishes incl. Chicken Porrdge are tasty. Breakfast to go service is also comfortable (Through pre-ordering, taking out to the room is possible.) The only inconvenience I feel seems to be the absence of Express Check-In Line for Marriott Bonvoy Elite Members.

A decent hotel with average-sized rooms, at least for the one I stayed in. Spacious enough for a king-sized bed, a couch, and a small table. Rented for 10 days with twice housekeeping. If daily housekeeping was opted, additional charges would apply. Generally tidy housekeeping, but I was wondering why the floor was always dusty and not vacuumed. Wasn't cheap as it costs more than ₩320,000 per day. When I opened up my luggage on the floor, my luggage was coated with visible dust from the floor, something which is not very acceptable. However, the staff manning the enquiry counter on the ground floor were helpful and knowledgeable and spoke good English. They were able to provide clear directions for travelling and information on places of interest. These were much appreciated. Location-wise, the hotel is situated at Hongdae and by the main road, which is convenient and has a subway station nearby within walking distance.

This is an excellent hotel with a few problems. Because the hotel is situated right on Yanghwa-ro, a major car and bus throughfare, there is a lot of traffic noise. Koreans love to honk their horns, so keeping the window open is probably out of the question. Which is itself a problem because the rooms don't have air conditioning in the winter months, only heating. There's also no laundry facility at the building, checking takes seemingly forever, pre-payments offered through Bonvoy are not actually honoured, and the toilets are far too aggressive in auto-flushing. Oh, and there's a new tower being built next door so be prepared for construction noises. But like, that's all the downsides. On the upside, the beds are comfortable, the staff are friendly, the breakfast is exceptional, the shower is really nice, the location is impeccable, and the overall layout of the Editor suite is worth the extra money. The late-night hotel bar is also a stand-out, with some interesting cocktail ideas. Maybe you're picking up what I'm putting down here: This hotel nails all the big things but could improve on some small things. Autograph Collection is supposed to be all about capturing the essence and unique nature of the neighbourhood it's in. This location certainly succeeds at aht.

This hotel is so beautiful, the rooms are modern and artsy. I had a few rounds of room service breakfast porridge and it's always so tasty. There is also a work area if you need to work from the hotel. The staff are always so so friendly and helpful!! One of the female staff helped me to bring my very heavy green luggage to the taxi because I couldn't handle it. Unfortunately, I did not get her name but I wanna say thank you for being so kind! I can't wait to come back to this hotel the next time!

Nice hotel! Staff were super nice and friendly. The hotel is located right next to a subway exit, which makes it really easy to get anywhere. Lots of shops and restaurants near the hotel, great view too! Rooms were very nice, pretty spacious. Bit pricey but I think it’s worth it for a few nights.

Smack bang in the middle of Hongdae, it's the perfect location to just go out and be in one of the very centres of Seoul fashion and street culture. Endless restaurant choices, boutiques large and small, eateries... Ideal for tourism without being overly tourist-focused like Myeongdong. Breakfast is decent, tho after a few days I felt it lacked variety (omelette station or whatever, more fruits); rooms are spacious, bathrooms are beautiful, practical. Bedding is comfy, the room is quite well suited for light sleepers (near-blackout curtains, good noise insulation, few annoying little night lights....) Design-wise also well-done (has some modern K-interior looking elements incorporated), pleasant space to be in.

Clean and conveniently located right near the center of hongdae. This is the ideal hotel if you're going to the area for a night of fun. Rooftop bar and lounge is outstanding and gym is complete and clean although in something of a strange spot. If you forgot your workout outfit there's a store conveniently located next to the lobby where you can buy one. It is part of the Marriott franchise and they give a bottle of house wine and a Korean snack for checking gifts for titanium members. The wine is kinda ehh at least it's free? The snack is good tho. Free breakfast for gold members and up will suffice as it has the basics but was expecting better based on similar hotels of this grade and price but the restaurant is somewhat small so it's somewhat understandable.

Great location. Overall facilities are clean and modern. Gym is particularly well designed and equipped. Room is nice and spacious. We especially love the traditional little games in the room. Staff was very nice and helpful - gave clear information about buses and transportation nearby. One of the best hotels I have ever stayed. Highly recommend

Hotel is great. The layout is well planned and it seems to have everything you need (i.e. amount of space for toiletries, view, baggage stand). Surrounding area, Hongdae, is very popular and worth the hype. You won't run out of food and shopping options. Will definitely be back again!

10/10 - Best hotel that I have ever stayed at. My wife & I spent 15 days in Hongdae at the RYSE, Autograph Collection for our honeymoon, and couldn't have been more happy with the choice. Room was spacious, clean, and modern. Staff were incredibly helpful with answering questions promptly. Location is top notch as you 2-3 minutes walking from the metro stop, the Hongdae Shopping Street, and hundreds of great cafes & restaurants. The gym even comes equipped with a power rack, dumbbells & kettlebells. Restaurant on the 4th floor has an all you can eat buffet brunch for ~$30USD/person that is well worth the cost of admission. Couldn't be more happier with the hospitality received from the RYSE staff. Thank you!

The room was good, but nothing special. Had way better amenities at other places. Breakfast is very good. I booked this with my suite upgrade vouchers. I expected them to upgrade to the best available, but instead got the cheapest even though better ones were available ._. Seems overpriced for what you get, even taking the location into account.

Interesting rooms with plenty of space. Staff is very helpful. Our included breakfast was very good. Many choices. Close to Hongdae shopping and restaurant area and access to subway for getting to other areas. A lot of college students in the neighborhood, which adds to a hip vibe. Check-in desk is on 3rd floor. Fun rooftop bat.

Overall it is good location, good room, but there less staff then you would expect at check in and check out. They close the AC at 11 pm till 9 am, there was no indication of such things when we did the booking nor during check in and we could not sleep at all during our 5 night stay due to the heat. When we complained they upgrade us to another room which is supposed to be colder but it was not really much of help.

Nice room, but that's about it - slow lift, almost non-existent service. There's no actual welcoming feel to the hotel by the young staffs. Young visitors in 20s may not mind it but we are overseas Koreans with school age child and didn't really enjoy the hip vibe. Walking distance to river for morning walk, but other than that Hong dae probably is not for family to begin with.

Hands down the best hotel in Hongdae. From the room design, service, cleanliness, food, bars and just everything is remarkable. The hotel staff do their utmost to make sure you feel welcome. We enjoyed it so much we are just waiting to return.

Great hotel, great location. The rooms are a good size, we had the editor room. The space is designed like a minimalist yet functional space. The room amenities such as robes and flip flops as well as welcome snacks gave it a luxury touch! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location is great, easy access to lots of restaurants and shopping. Highly recommended.

Super nice hotel right in the center of Hongdae District. You can literally walk to anywhere, so many restaurants, coffee, bars, nightclubs and of course shops. The hotel room is very modern and artsy, it’s also very clean and comfortable. There are two bars inside the building. I really like the rooftop bar, they make very professional cocktails. Plus the bar’s vibe is nice.

Such a beautifully decorated room that was modern and comfortable. The beds were the best I've slept on during our trip. There was attention to detail in the rooms and hotel. They sell their own scents that permeated throughout the hotel. Loved it. The rooms are a tad dark and a bit stuffy when it's hot but other than that it's fine. Really liked the pop ups they had for fnb and retail. Would be good if they provided guests a little incentive to shop there - a nice to have! Location is amazing, right smacked at the key shopping areas with small eateries at the back lane. It's just opposite offer bakery which we all loved (look for the pink cafe)

Traveling as a family with kids we didn’t enjoy the hipster vibe of the hotel, and lack of amenities such as a pool. It has two clothing boutiques in the hotel which might add to the vibe but does not add value for the hotel guest. At the rate we paid we didn’t like that breakfast was extra, and that the rooms (creator room) was tiny! The drinks at side note rooftop bar were also tiny and overpriced. We did enjoy the Hongdae area but will not return.

As a native Korean. This hotel was pretty bad relative to other hotels at the same price point. The front kept messing up, The amenities were lacking, and the water did not get fully hot. I would say the good reviews are from foreigners who are not used to Korean standards, which are very high, in general. Not from this specific hotel. Only saw foreigners here. That’s how u know it’s sub par. At this price point there are many better options.

Enjoyed our 7-night stay in the hotel. The area in Hongdae is great and I would 100% recommend staying here again. The hotel has a boutique vibe and although its rather dark in the hallways, on the whole the space is enjoyable. Bed was very comfortable and we appreciated the eco-cleaning option. Had a few amazing drinks at the rooftop bar (rated best rooftop in Seoul) (you probably need a reservation on weekends but on weekdays we were able to walk in). Only thing that could have been better was vegetarian/vegan support at the breakfast. There was not a lot of veggie friendly options.

Love the location of this hotel. You got easy access to restaurants, street food, shopping and subway station. Plus the staffs here are all super helpful! I would like to express my special gratitude to Jackson and Phoebe for helping out during my stay at the hotel. This is my 1st time staying here but certainly it won’t be my last. See you again soon!

Great boutique hotel in a fun part of town. Rooms are nice size, and well appointed. I liked all the little touches in the room. The breakfast buffet is really solid, and all the hotel staff is super helpful.

Overall good experience ! Arrived at 12pm and was allowed early check in which is helpful given we are supposed to self isolate till our PCR results are out so we could get a good rest with the early check in. Also receptionist could understand English pretty well. The room size we took was Creator room which was spacious and could fit 2 big luggage and 1 medium luggage opened. Toilet was huge with automatic toilet bowl and big shower area. A very good location with easy access to hongdae street and a lot of food options! Also near Egg stop and Issac toast which are good breakfast options.

So far, it has been excellent. I raise the cat and they allow my cat to stay with us and change the litter regularly for us. They have the good quality gym whose utilities are equipped with variety of screens. Also, they have such a good waiting place on the first floor with the Cafe. Though I did not visit yet, they have good shopping stores for clothes (men and women). Their near places are Hong-ik University that is well known in South Kore and Hongdae Street that is filled with fashion items and delicious food. I bet people who want to stay at hotel with their pets and want to enjoy young cultures will love this place.

It's our first time to visit Seoul via free and easy. We stayed 5D4N at RYSE Editor Room . Great location accessible and nice embience hotel. Specially thanks to the concierge staff *Phoebe* , she has been very responsive, helpful and professional. We wanted to give 5 stars however the housekeeping standard not as good as the rest. Didn't refill the amenities ( run out of tissue but left the empty box instead on our 2nd day ) , no coffee spoon provided etc. We believe it's peak season but the standard should be retained as the room price is not cheap.

Great hotel, great location and great staff. Rooms was perfect plenty of room for a family of 4 with two kids. Staff downstairs was great they held our luggage and called for taxis anytime we needed one. The gentleman this evening went above and beyond to make sure taxi was taking us to right location. 9/23 @5:20 pm. 5 star service.

Staff is friendly, accommodating and efficient. The hotel itself is spectacular. The rooms are modern, clean and spacious. The location is right next to Hongdae and you are steps away from everything. The gym is strangely nice for a hotel and the coffee shop downstairs is outstanding. Might be one of the coolest hotels I have ever stayed at. If I ever visit Korea again I would absolutely stay here again.

One of the coolest city hotels I have been. Good location since it's right in the middle of Hongdae and direct connections with public transport. Very relaxed and modern vibe with the blue bottle cafe and store integrated in the hotel. Rooms are very nice but would be nice if the curtain that separates the bathroom would be electric.

  • 2/5 Suzan S. 1 year ago on Google
Room was nice, okay. But the cleanliness, the toilet wasn’t cleaned well and the bathroom was stink of pee, which I think previous guest did pee in the bathroom while taking bath and the housekeeping didn’t though roughly sanitized it. Hope they pay attention more. Staffs were helpful with my requests.

Loved it! The rooms are really nice with high quality amenities and a good design. I really liked the built in bench inside the shower, the products (soap, hand lotion, some shower products) in the bathroom smell really good and match the vibe of the hotel. The staff speaks perfect English and was really friendly and helpful, they even let me store my suitcase at the hotel a week before check-in, which made my time in Korea a lot more convenient. The breakfast is totally worth it, they offer both a Korean and a “western” breakfast buffet, both with a wide range of options. They also have chefs to make fresh breakfast foods. The gym has a nice view and is really big for a hotel gym. The lobby is nice for hanging out. 10/10 recommend.

Rooms are nice. Love the design. Bathrooms are high end and modern looking, which I like. Location is amazing - in the heart of all the hustle and bustle of Hongdae. Staff is friendly and helpful. Mia was awesome in making my stay memorable. I had some issues with my first room (AC not working, some stains on the couches), and despite some attempts to resolve the AC issue, it was never mitigated. She was great in offering me a complementary upgrade to a bigger room which I really appreciated. For those that care, there is no actual desk in the room.

Stay there from 3/31 for 3 nights, the concierge team are wonderful including Jackson and Lea, they were very helpful for surprising my wife's birthday. We have a great stay! The location and the room quality are very good as well

For someone who booked this place for 4 nights, the hotel had really exceeded my expectations. Everyone was friendly and the team was really nice in giving me a free room upgrade and late checkout. Room was definitely nice and even though it’s showing some signs of aging already, it still looks very aesthetically pleasing. My room (Editor Room) had the view of the Seoul Tower which was amazing! Location wise - this is really the place to be as it’s always busy and the metro and bus stations are a 5 minute walk away. Definitely perfect for solo travellers or a group of friends!

We have stayed at several hotels in Seoul. This was on the top of the list of best stays/experiences ever. The location in the hip Hongdae neighbourhood can’t be beat and the vibe of the hotel really encapsulates the energy of the area. The building is gorgeous, and it only gets cooler the more you explore. The rooms are beautiful and clean with some awesome surprises waiting inside. We visited to all the dining/bar options at the property and had an amazing time. The atmosphere and service at each were consistently great. We will be back!

Easy check in, disappointed tartine has been replaced for blue bottle. Blue bottle coffee also opens quite late 8am, they should consider opening earlier. The rooms are very black and quite dark, but very comfortable. Location is good proximity to shopping, restaurants on busy street. Nice gym and restaurant is not too bad.

Rooms were nice but money placed in suitcase got lost after going out. Had to contact staff actively a lot of the times for updates but not much was done. They interviewed the cleaning staff but staff said they did not touch any items inside the luggage. Hotel staff were happy to assist us to call the cops but there is no evidence whatsoever so we didn't want to proceed because we are leaving today. The hotel does not have any protocols for lost items and kept saying that they will check the room again for the lost envelope. Not satisfied with our stay. If you are staying here please lock your valuables in the safe and lock luggages!
