Frequent diner review: Once you step through the gates you’d think you were in a outside beach bar! Multiple covered dining & activity areas, order at the cook shack. Meals served on compostable wares. Good tap beer selection. Attentive wait staff. Accessible ‘heads’, free parking in small lot. I’ll be back! Very good Scallop special, always have the fish spread, good place to hang out on a rainy day visit. Had fish spread, hush puppies & black grouper. Fish very fresh and well cooked. Red Snapper fish of the day on this visit, very moist & flaky, tasty sauces & sides based on staff reco and right on! Staff always attentive. I’ve been back several times, never disappoints.

One of the best seafood restaurants I have ever eaten at, a real and absolute delight. Fresh, fresh, fresh seafood. All outdoor dining in an unconventional location creating and ambiance that it truly remarkable.

Came here by chance while having a night out with friends. Atmosphere is laid back and inviting. Food service was quick and delicious and bartenders were responsive and quick. Live music was great. Will definitely be back!

The vibe. The food. The amazing drinks and of course wonderful staff. There is no place like Trophy Fish! Go for the fresh fish & hush puppies and stay for the “Fin & Tonic” cocktail. It’s devine! Cannot wait to come back!

Before I get into the review of the food, the blonde bartender with the large mustache was definitely giving racist vibes to the colored people in our group. I won’t rate the establishment poorly for it only because majority of the kitchen staff were super sweet and welcoming, just that one guy that was a real a**hole. Okay so, super cute spot, felt like a great vibe. They have live music sometimes and a spinning wheel of prizes, very open air atmosphere. The fish was comparable to the kind you get by the beach for sure. Like amazing quality fresh fillets, perfectly cooked rice and veges. If you’re in St.Pete and you’re not trying to go all the way out to the beach, this is a great downtown alternative that kinda mimicks beach vibes. Drinks were well crafted!

Great atmosphere, you feel like you are at a Beach Bar right on Central Ave. They have a nice variety on the menu and the prices are reasonable and the food is good. Great customer service and frequently live music.

Great atmosphere, excellent food and delicious cocktails. I just had the best spicy margarita of my life , Jovan the bartender made it for me and i couldn't believe how delicious it is. They have a wide range of liquors, wines and beer. I ate a fish tacos with the catch of the day and was extremely tasty. I recommend this place 100% if you are in the area of downtown St. Petersburg.

Not even 7pm on a Friday night. Came in with a bridal party of 10. We all just wanted simple drinks, with great tippers. It’s a shame we had to wait 20minutes at a near dead bar top. Just went to the bar across the way.

Seem like a fun place. Atmosphere is fun! No waiters you place your food order in line and your drinks which is fine. Drink too forever to get and tacos took forever to get. Food is very disappointed. 68.00 for 2 chicken tacos n 2 fish taco which took almost an hour to get. No excuse! Give food a 3 on a 1 to 10 scale 10 being the best. Seriously don't waste your money or time here

Awesome spot, freshest fish in DTSP! Kocho is the best at the bar — always welcoming and checking in! Service, food, drinks, atmosphere are all 10/10! We love the fish of the day, the fish dip, and any drink Kocho makes.

Beautifuly hand crafted cocktails. Tammy was so warm and so was everyone who interacted with us. The vibe of this place was a perfect in between. Not to loud but at the same time very lively!

Andrea, Kocho and John are a great team! Always full of smiles, great stories and drinks. Would be great to offer a earlier happy hour during weekend. Perhaps a brunch deal, like $1.00 oysters, to pair with the great Bloody Mary's, cocktails, and the champagne special that is offered.

I’m so late to the game, but this spot has THE BEST fresh fish options in town. I ordered delicious blackened swordfish tacos that were dressed with sauces and toppings that perfectly accompanied the protein. You have to get in here and grab this grub!! The service was also welcoming, fast, and friendly. Kocho was the nicest mixologist! To top if off it feels so tropical and breezy here. The atmosphere is really setting the mood for an upscale beach shack feel in the middle of downtown St. Pete!

On our third visit to Trophy Fish, we were once again charmed by its consistent fun and relaxed atmosphere. This place has managed to maintain its inviting vibe over time, making each visit just as enjoyable as the last. The service was quick and attentive. A special shoutout to Kocho, the bartender, who made us feel exceptionally welcome and well taken care of. The food was of course a highlight. The dishes (the shrimp po'boy, the grouper as the fresh catch of the day, and the chef's special scallops) were delicious. The scallops, in particular, were a standout, being flavorful and cooked to perfection. We loved the chorizo creamed corn so much we plan to recreate it for our Thanksgiving feast. Sitting in the shade, enjoying the gentle breeze, added an extra layer of enjoyment to our meal. We left Trophy Fish already looking forward to our next visit. Highly recommended for anyone looking for fresh, delicious seafood in a relaxed and friendly setting.

I went for a lunch time date with my spouse and we ordered the Smoked Shrimp Burger and the Shrimp & Avocado Salad. The Shrimp Burger had a delicious sriracha aioli-garlic butter and the bun was warm and toasty. The shrimp burger itself was yummy and thick. The accompanying fries were fantastic – 5 stars for the fries! With that said, we were both underwhelmed by the Shrimp & Avocado Salad. The vegetables were saturated in dressing and the flavor profile was just ok. The shrimp also was displayed on a skewer, which is a bit of a personal pet peeve of mine because it creates more work for the eater and with disposable utensils, it was a bit messy. My big piece of feedback is the price point for a self-service-style restaurant. It’s absolutely overpriced for a self-service set-up. The Shrimp & Avocado Salad was $21.50 and the Smoked Shrimp Burger was $18.50 – way more than going to a full-service comparable restaurant serving fresh seafood. If this review about Trophy Fish was just about the bar experience, I would rate this place a 5/5. The bar set-up is spacious and comfortable whether you’re sitting at the bar or standing around waiting for a drink. The bartenders are knowledgeable and provide good service. Thar bar is PERFECT for a date or two friends catching up. If it’s nice weather, the open-air setting is divine.

Great atmosphere, music and vibes! Loved all the plants and nautical touches. We came for a cocktail and unfortunately the service wasn’t great. We had to wave one of the 5 bartenders over to order our drinks and felt like we were interrupting them from chatting with each other… it was clear they didn’t want to be there. The cocktails were ok. Nothing to write home about. I wanted to love this place because of the ambiance… but the bad service overtook the experience. We had to wave them over to ask for water and then to get the check. Maybe it was an off day?

Love this place! The ambiance is such a botanical chill trendy vibe. Cocktails were some of the prettiest I've ever seen. I was surprised it wasn't more crowded for a Friday night. For someone who is from out of town, this is a perfect place to take your guests after dinner for a few bevs.

Great place for dates, friends’ casual hangouts and family gatherings. The choice of sides and seasonings aren’t many but just right for and with the fish. The bartenders and staff were friendly and attentive.

Nice find in Saint Pete. Open restaurant with a bar. Has that beach shack atmosphere complete with crushed shells for floor. Order, pay and they give you number, sit wherever. Menu is posted. Had the mahi platter. It is very good with the fried yucca and slaw with pineapple. No frills. Great service.

The food was absolutely delicious. My fiancé and i both ordered the Mahi with rice and rosemary potatoes. The fish was perfectly cooked, and the potatoes had so much flavor. The margaritas were delicious too! Check this place out if you’re in the area :)
