If you are in Srinagar then one night must stay at boathouse. This is a mesmerising. We have stayed one night at Gemini group. Though prices were at higher side as it was their season time but we liked the place and ambience. You can negotiate on tariff part. Happy Travelling.

The houseboat was fine and the food served on banana leaves very tasty. But we arrived at 3pm and sailed up the busy main channel to a very crowded large lagoon and then returned to the same channel again and tied up to a riverbank at 6pm. Boats are not allowed to sail after to 6pm to reduce pollution and give the fisherman an opportunity to fish. You have to keep doors and windows firmly closed as masses of insects desend on the boat. There are almost 1000 boats on the waterway so it can be very busy when they all motor away from their moorings at 8am. The narrow backwaters are not navagable as the boats are too big and also they are choked by water hyacinth. You can see a few aspects of local life on the river bank.

Very comfortable, very helpful staff, chef is extremely talented, no worry for your dinner, they take great care for veg and non veg in their cuisines and serving, honest staff, staff always in service around you for any kind of service they might help, good wifi speeds even at full capacity of houseboat if you are into that, overall great experience and memory, houseboat has a fleet of shikaras to drop and pick you up at any time of day or night

Unprofessional caretaker and poor stay experience Unclean cutlery No black out curtains Cold breakfast without any prompt service Breakfast is measured in grams and nothing can be done if something additional is required Washroom fixtures are broken and hot water is given as a prized gift - no promised running hot-water available. You will be granted hot water as per the mood of the care-taker and not as per your days plan. You will face hostile behaviour if you are not buying things from houseboat caretaker’s touts. Your stay will be made as uncomfortable as possible (WiFi not being provided- unwanted shikara rides being forced on you- meals being forced on you which you don’t want) Don’t take breakfast included package - you will remain hungry - better is take morning breakfast from cafes on the road opposite Ceilings have cello tape keeping the walls attached! Furniture is so poor that backs of chairs and beds keep falling off and don’t be surprised if you are asked to pay for the “damage”! Washrooms are in really poor state- no toiletries or exhausts Basic amenities like heating kettles or TV also not available and travellers who are not having postpaid sims are destined to struggle without WiFi. Overall an exceptionally poor experience which is contrary to what the other fake reviews suggest

Great hospitality, very Royal interior and charming ambiance, I recommend this houseboat strongly. Please stay to make your kashmir trip memorable.

Please confirm first that veg or nonveg which dishes he provide and you are not doing his shikara then said you pay for lake transport behaviour of staff is rudly waste of money and mood

If you are in srinagar then must stay in Gemini Houseboat. We have stayed in Gemini Houseboat. The Rooms are very good. Location is also perfect. All the staffs are very good specially Ajaz Malik.Room service and food is also good.We had a great experience.
