What a wonderful artist I met. Really I don't have words to describe his articles. They are so beautiful. I purchased a beautiful tissue box , and a clutch. They both are hand-painted. The best part was Ajaz sahab visited us on our house boat. He's so humble and polite. Very well educated. He was explaining his art to my kids - the process, the hard work they put in. I highly recommend him. If you are in Srinagar do purchase from him. They dispatch products via courier too. Good luck

I met Aijaz bhaijaan in my houseboat and purchased some items. I was super thrilled to see his work. Hence, Aijaz bhaijaan invited me to his house. I later visited them and met his entire family including Yousuf bhaijaan who possesses extreme creativity. I was offered Kashmiri kahwa with some homemade gulkand and cookies. They also took me for a walk in their workplace and showed me how they make these pieces. I was speechless after seeing how intricate every single details are and the amount of hard work put into it. Definitely recommend everyone who come to Kashmir to contact them.

You may buy or not, but do meet the two brothers who are part of a dwindling group of artists who make intricate Papier-mâché handicrafts. The tourist shops do no justice to what you will see in their beautiful mud home, deep inside Srinagar. You will especially enjoy the homemade Kahwa, their hospitality, their stories, and especially get to see the complex process of making such art: very nice people and amazing artwork. Not to be missed stop as part of your Kashmir adventure.

Have met this great artisan Ajeez in Nigeen lake, the handcrafts he made is totally mind blowing, the details of each and every piece is so nice. In the fast changing world where everyone goes behind things to earn a living heartfelt appreciation for people like him who follow their passion and put their whole efforts into it till now. Have bought few handcrafts from him and it’s our first purchase here and it’s totally worth it and will be special. Moreover happy meeting him and warmth he showered on us is much more heartwarming.

Had a wonderful and lifetime experience with Ajaj uncle. His paper mache products and detailed work on it were very impressive. He's a very good fine art artist. The way they patiently speaks itself gives a proof of his genuinely handmade products. A person without a patience can never be a fine art artist. Highly recommended to buy from him and support fine arts. Personally what I feels 1) His products are cheaper than Amazon or any other place 2) unique designs 3) way better souvenir or shopping item as compared to shawls etc. 4) doing shopping in houseboat itself add an uniqueness to our experience 4) just give him your 5 mins his products and a little conversation with uncle itself brings a very sweet memories to your trip.

We met Ejaas uncle on our houseboat stay on Nigeen Lake. Each piece of work he carried had such finesse. The work was so intricate and every item had its own beauty - boxes, shikara miniatures, trays and even earrings. We ended up purchasing a lot for ourselves and friends back home. It's an amazing art!

I had the pleasure of meeting Aijaz bhai at my houseboat, where I was captivated by his incredible craftsmanship. His warm-heartedness and genuine passion for his art shone through, and I was overjoyed when he extended an invitation to visit his home. During my visit, I had the privilege of getting to know his entire family, including the immensely creative Yousuf bhai. They graciously took me on a tour of their workshop, revealing the meticulous and labor-intensive process behind their creations. I was left in awe by the intricacy of every detail and the unwavering dedication they poured into their work. Aijaz Bhai dedication to his craft and his eagerness to share it with others left a lasting impression on me. I wholeheartedly recommend anyone visiting Kashmir to connect with them and experience their remarkable artistry and hospitality.

👍👍 Beautiful rooms and hospitality. We were an accidental guest to this place as we had our houseboat booked but unfortunately the shikara guy to houseboat didn’t turn up and it was 3 A.M in the morning then. The owner came to nishat ghat to pick us up. Our mornings were begun by azaan, chirping of bir...
