Had high expectations but my experience fell flat. They plate their dishes beautifully but I found the flavours surprisingly lacked depth? Portions are small for the price. Atmosphere and service were good however we were disappointed with the 90-minute time limit, so our catch up time was cut short.

Thankfully Tryst is finally open again! An absolute must to eat at. With a near perfect 5.0 star it doesn't take long to see they nail the 3 categories, servers are incredibly accommodating and know their stuff, drinks are crafted not just poured and the food is stunning. Rotating menu here is always on point and never the same. Stop in and see for your self, I'll be back soon!

Tryst Wine and Small Plates is a quaint restaurant in the heart of St. Albert by the Arden. The service on this night was wonderful. Our server was extremely positive and helpful. We enjoyed our cocktails immensely. The space is great. It's difficult to manage the temperature in the winter when the doors opens however as it's one singular space. You can get a cool breeze now and again. Now to the food. There is so much potential here. I can see where Tryst is trying to go and what they're doing. But the food tries too hard. I think the establishment would benefit from simplifying some of their dishes. There are often some competing flavors in the dishes and there seems to be too much happening in some cases. I still gave it a four stars for food but in this case I feel less is more. This is a super dining experience in St. Albert before a show at the Arden. We will definitely be coming back again. 4 x 🍽️🍽️🍽️🍽️

Food was spectacular, loved all the different combinations of flavours and aromas, as well as having an excellent server. All in all, one of my favourite dinning experiences in #YEG (only took a couple of pics as each dish looked too good - had to dig in!)

Recently checked out this great little place in St Albert. It was such a great experience, loved the presentation and all the little plates. It was nice to get to try so many different foods without them being huge portions. The food was amazing, especially the scallops! The atmosphere was wonderful and cozy. Definitely a great experience overall. Well done Tryst!!

Small restaurant but packed with personality. The drinks are amazing and food was really good. They have a lot of options for meat eaters and vegetarians. Staff was also friendly.

My wife and I went to tryst for a birthday meal for the both of us. To start with I want to say the food was quite delicious and the atmosphere was lovely. However, there were a couple of items that left us a bit disappointed. To start with, we have been to many small plate type or tapas style restaurants similar Tryst and have always had the staff guide us through the menu and make suggestions. As this was our first time at Tryst we asked our waitress to help us with their menu (we like to hear what the staff favourites might be) and unfortunately she was not really that helpful. We also asked if we should order all our plates all at once or if we should order them as we go. Our waitress said that we could order our plates all together and she would send them out kind of by the course. We started with a charcuterie board and unfortunately, halfway through, all of our plates ended up coming out all at once. This unfortunately, kind of soured the experience as we felted rushed to eat our meal while it was warm and fresh. Thinking we could enjoy a glass of wine prior to dessert, we barely ate our dessert, we were then we’re asked to clear up our bill because they had other reservations.

Overpriced for the quality and quantity. I was excited to try this place out because of the good reviews but geeze, what a letdown. I'm all for paying top dollar for amazing food, even if the portions are small but brunch here is underwhelming. The shortrib hash was bland despite the mouthwatering menu description, eggs benedicts were small with no sides, and the pancakes, though tasty, were you guessed it, tiny. How these dishes are considered sharing plates is beyond me. And 5$ espressos and loose leaf tea? Get out of here. Service was verging on subpar given the small number of tables being serviced. After parting ways with the rest of our party, my partner and I went to a local cafe back in Edmonton to satisfy our hunger pangs. Shout out to Old Beverly Cafe and their butter chicken poutine for saving the day!

I love this little place for a date night. They have a cozy atmosphere and a great patio. The charcuterie is super yummy, and so are they fresh baked chocolate chip cookies. Great drink list. The menu is seasonal, and sometimes the dishes can be hit or miss, but super tasty for the most part. The staff are amazingly friendly, but service can be a bit slow from time to time. As long as you're not in a rush, no biggie. Still love this place.

Fabulous spot for tapas-style dining. If you like having a little bit of everything when you eat, Tryst is the spot for you. Wonderful little plates that are full of flavour and priced fairly is what we got. The bread and salted butter is excellent. We really enjoyed the chicken skins too. Modest footprint in the winter. Summer weather allows for more tables on the patio. Atmosphere was lively and everyone was enjoying themselves. We don’t drink wine, but the menu was extensive. Highly recommend checking this place out. It was worth the drive out to St. Albert.

We had dirty gin martinis with olives, steak tartar and the pork. finished with espresso. Hands down the best restaurant in St. Albert. Luxury is in the details, and this locally owned family restaurant provides a great dining experience. My only constructive feedback would be that the bar lights were bright.. but I have sensitive eyes. 5 🌟 stars! Thank you for a wonderful evening.

Food started off really strong. I highly recommend the sourdough bread and butter, as well as the brussel sprouts which were amazing. I wish I had ordered two bowls. The garlic butter fries were good on their own, but the dip they came with did not fit the description of the fries. Wish overall this dish was more garlicky. The gnocchi was just alright. Flavor wasn't quite there and it needed more sauce with it. The fried butter chicken was good, not exactly what I was expecting but good. Forgot to take a good photo before we dived in. The rhubarb crumbled cocktail was more sweet and on the butterscotch side than rhubarby. I wanted there to be some tartness but didn't get anything. Overall the atmosphere was great, service was super fast and on it, and food came out at a good pace. If some tweaks and improvements to the food are made, this place can be a 10/10.

The food at Tryst was pretty good but the "Bao" was a bit strange as the green onion cake used for it was a bit too dense to serve as a proper Bao.

my partner and I stopped in for brunch and everything we ate was insanely good! I love the style of small plates and getting to taste a lot of different things. the menu is creative and we had a hard time choosing, everything sounded so yummy... we originally had just stopped for a cocktail and a visit but couldn't stop ordering more plates 😂 we can't wait to go back and try their dinner menu!

Went for brunch with friends living in Edmonton. We enjoyed all plates on the menu, especially the dutch baby and breakfast sandwich. Also, thanks to our waitress for her warmth.

Another amazing meal! Love that they rotate some items out of their menu so it is always a new experience. Had the orange tart, lovely presentation (should have took a picture), great flavour, not too sweet. A lovely dinner.

I would say my first dining experience at Tryst was fairly good. We were a table of three and ordered seven plates to share (one of which I forgot to take a photo of!) We were full at the end of meal and even had a couple pieces of fried butter chicken to take home. I would give four stars for the food. My favorites were the house-made sourdough bread with whipped brown butter and the ling cod. The one thing that struck me as odd was that I wouldn't call Tryst a "casual" restaurant, and yet the hostess and waitresses were dressed very casually. For example, the hostess wore a pair of high-waisted pink pants with a cropped t-shirt and a Lululemon crossbody bag while our server wore a white tank top with thick straps and a white mini skirt. There is nothing wrong with dressing comfortably; I just didn't think it went with the vibe of the restaurant. The service was inconsistent. The first few dishes came out quickly and then the last two dishes appeared to have been forgotten. A server (not the one we had the entire night) asked if we were still waiting for more dishes. When we said there were still two remaining, she followed up with the kitchen. Our waitress was still around, but did not serve us for the remainder of the evening. There wasn't any communication about the servers switching, so it left us kind of confused.

Tried Tryst today and it was wonderful. Food was delicious, drinks were delicious, staff was friendly. Love that they use local producers for their drinks and meals!! Looking forward to coming back again soon.

The place is beautiful and cozy. Has plexiglass between the tables. The waitress was outstanding so polite so helpful so knowledgeable! The food was spectacular, homemade bread that made me feel like in a French boulangerie, kimchi pancake was delicious. Highly recommended

Those carrots had better stay on the menu FOREVER! Yes - the carrots. Go find out why yourself.

Wow!!!!! My husband and I just had a date night here and it was absolutely fantastic. Highly recommend!!! Given how amazing the food was I cannot believe how quick our service was. The staff was so friendly and inviting and this little wine bar is small but cozy. I love how casual it is but the food is definitely upscale. Check this place out. You won’t be disappointed.

👍 Great customer service. Ordered garlic fingers and steak bites with salad. No complaints except the vinegarette/dressing. Nevertheless the staffs are amazing. Will definitely be back.
