I was out with a few of my friends and one said they enjoyed this spot. I'm so happy we checked it out. Beer menu is great and they are available in bottle to take home. I heard the wings are great but the waitress let us know they had chicken and waffles available that day. So happy I decided to switch up. Absolutely delicious. Great service and a real relaxing pub atmosphere. I'll have to head back next time I'm in St. Catharines to try those wings. Try the blueberry ale!

We stopped here on a whim after the place we had planned on going had an hour wait. Let’s just say after we were done here that all thoughts of that place disappeared! We all enjoyed the food very much. We ordered garlic knots, deep fried pickles and chicken sandwiches, delicious. The beer was fantastic. I had a Jacked and Juicy and my wife had the Blueberry Wheat beer. Was planning on taking some home but my beer fridge is setup for cans, not bottles. Will 100 percent return!

Great beer, their stouts are fabulous. Food is a bit on the pricier end since the sides are not included in the price.

Came here today for the first time with a good friend and absolutely loved the service, the beer and the food was awesome! We shared the wings with the Texas Gold sauce to start. This has to be one of the best wing flavours ever! It's like a honey garlic with a spicy kick to it. Then I had the Paisano sandwich with Quebec Poutine as a side. Both were so yummy and such big portions! For beer, I had their Bad Blood dark lager and it was so nice and smooth.

I've been here twice with my husband, really love the place. We stumbled upon it while visiting St. Catherines, and it's one of our favourite places now! The food is delicious, as are the drinks.

Nicole is hands down the most authentic server I’ve ever had. The bond we created this evening is incomparable to any experience I’ve ever had. It started off a bit Bumpy due to third party nonsense.. but man is this woman ever so so good at what she does. I left a $20 tip and couldn’t be anymore thankful for making a friend out of such a hard working individual… you’d be delirious to not give this place your attention when visiting Niagara 10/5 stars. Will be back

Took an old friend here for both our first times and this place was great. Fast and friendly service with great food. The atmosphere was nice and old wooden. I had the quiche and my friend had the burger, we also shared the pretzel knots. The meals were fantastic and fairly priced. If you are in this area and looking for a bite to eat, this is the spot! 5 of 5.

We had just arrived and the “bouncer” kicked out our Asian friend even though he was not under the influence, saying the “bartenders don’t want to serve you because you’re too drunk” and that was it. Considering it was a group of gay men we have a feeling it was a combination of homophobia and anti Asian racism. Would not recommend it you want to relax and have a drink at night.

The best nachos ever. I was really getting frustrated with the quality of Skip food. You guys blew me away. Everything you should have with nachos was there. Not a big advacodo fan. But it was perfect.

The blueberry wheat beer is phenomenal, food is high quality and the service is very prompt and friendly. I've attended this establishment more than a dozen times and can not speak of a bad experience. It is a short walking distance from the Meridian Center Arena where the local CHL hockey team and plenty of other entertainment. Although this is a university town, the Ale House is never rowdy and has more of a refined atmosphere. Plenty of seating for couples or small groups upstairs and down. Like I said, the food is fantastic and the beer is top notch.

I had the worst day ever at a job I stayed one day at. I walk into this place because it's the only place serving food in the area at 11:30. I order their specialty Light Roast pint and a fried chicken burger. Drink was the best lite beer I've ever had, burger was the best I've had this whole year. Just go here. You won't regret it. Great price and I regret not staying for the live music they had that night.

Can’t beat the vibes of this pub! Environment is super cozy and relaxed. Vegan menu is limited, but the burgers were very tasty and service was quick. Definitely enjoyed our date night here

Beer was certainly available and very interesting selection. Staff was attentive and friendly. Nice location, would've been nice if the kitchen was still open but no food available to us.

Highly recommend their blueberry beer! They brew their own there. Staff is also super nice. My friend spilled her drink and they gave her a new one, free of charge and helped us clean it up.

Blueberry beer is a must have here! The absolute best. The food is okay not the best but not the worst, I prefer the shareable starters more than the actual meals but this is a great place to go out for a drink and meet with friends. The new patio is beautiful and I hope they keep it permanently!

Me and my boyfriend went here on our valentine’s day weekend getaway and we’re blown away. We fell in love with the atmosphere and the food was to die for. A must go to in St. Catherine’s.

Boyfriend and I came in last week. He had the IPA and I had Blueberry Wheat. Beers were amazing. Couldn’t get food because it closed at ten. But the server Nicole was the 5 star experience. Young bubbly blond. Everyone needs a Nicole as a server. She was adorable. Thank you for the great experience. Will return for her.

My friend and I had a great experience here last weekend. I had the best fish sandwich of my life and the poutine was great too. I got a local cider that I loved - the color was this beautiful shade of rose gold and it tasted wonderful - and my friend got one of the house beers which he loved. Hope to come back here again sometime!

"This is the best beer I've ever had!" This is a bold statement, I'll admit. You've heard your drunk mate say this a million times. But honestly, Merchant Ale House is home to the Blueberry Wheat, and it is easily one of the best beers I've ever tasted. Seriously, I drove over 5 hours from Ottawa to drink it. Plus, the food is amazing. Go get some. Do it.

A great place for a beer and pub food. Stopped to have a drink with a good friend and was surprised to enjoy everything I tried here. The wings were great and to my surprise the vegan wings were just as good as regular! The beer selection is good but I chose a cider as that's what I prefer. Staff was very friendly as well. My one complaint would be that I don't like stools and they had a lot of stool seating which was uncomfortable for any longer than 30 minutes.

Great food at reasonable prices. Best to make a reservation for popular meal times however if you want to eat earlier you can walk in without waiting for a table. Televisions seem to be well placed to keep you entertained while you wait for your meal. Outdoor patio is available and wraps around the side of the building.

Probably one of the best places to have a relaxed dinner. Love it that they enforce passports and ask people to sign in. Beer is great food is great staff is great. If you get the nachos get no jalapeno

I went here with my girlfriend the other night, loved the back patio and the ambience. I call it industrial chic, we shared the beer battered pickles with curry mayo they were delish.👌 I had a sunset glow (sour) loved it and a blueberry wheat. I really didn't love the blueberry wheat, I wanted to but just didn't. Ellicottville brewery in the states has totally ruined any blueberry beer for me elsewhere because their's is superb. I took a growler of the strawberry blonde home🍓 it's a good one!

So welcoming and friendly. The restaurant decor is very architectural pleasing. Food is tasty, and there are a variety of choices for beer. Must try!

Amazing place , blue berry beer is our favorite here, service and ambience both are wonderful. Love coming back here again and again.
