Always fun for kids and adults. Beautiful sceneries, nice beach and playground. I love walking along the beach, they also have nice trails for bikes. Carousel is lovely and we'll maintained. Returning there regularly.

5 cents a ride on a lovely, preserved, historical carousel. A must do for young and old. It is in a pretty beachfront area ( or it will be pretty again once all the construction is complete) Ride the assorted animals then swim picnic and take a stroll in the little Main Street for some ice cream

Great nostalgic attraction in Port Dalhousie featuring a vintage carousel that's been in place for over one hundred years in that location. Best of all, it still costs just 5 cents per ride. The carousel itself is in great shape, and features many animals around the outside but mostly prancing horses on the inside rows. It can get a bit busy on some evenings and weekends but the line moves quickly. I find the ride to be a bit faster speed-wise than most carousels, so young children need to hold on. Only one person is allowed on a single animal at a time, so parents cannot ride on the same one with their kids. The only disappointing thing about the carousel is that it's located in such an ugly, dark building. You can barely see outside, and it doesn't accentuate the ride at all. I get the need for security and protection from the elements, but this structure is really disappointing.

Oh my goodness!!! What a joyful experience that was 😁 I haven't been on a carousel in ages!! So much fun!! The Carousel is 5 cents a ride or admission by donation, we gladly paid $5. It is a stunning piece of art and history hand carved from 1898 to 1905 a Charles I.D. Looff original.

It hauls ships straight up the Niagara escarpment. It's a mega structure. It's a "must see" to experience it. It leaves you with a sense of wonder and awe. Definitely a 5 out of 5.

Although parking can be problematic, if you’re in the area & have 5 cents (!!!) to spare it’s 100% worth a ride. The animals are really well-maintained (and hand-painted) & the sound system is fantastic. It sounds like they’re using an actual organ to play the music, which is a great detail (along with the intricately carved, animated centrepiece).

I'm not sure what I'm rating here. Never been able to watch all the locks in use since I'm always there to help repair it. Nice views tho

It's 5 cents for a carousel ride! You can't go wrong. It's all donation based and we put in some extra money. The only thing is if you are driving, you'll have to pay for parking. But you are also going there for the beach and they have a nice playground there for kids as well.

Love this place for tobogganing. I've been coming here since I was a teenager and now I get to bring my own kids and they love it as well. To places like Fireman's Park who banned tobogganing, you are just ridiculous.

Grandsons really enjoyed the ride! We stood beside them on it, too, and had fun. Only 5 cents a ride, they will take any donations. We went on it 3 times. Short line for waiting.

Where else can you have so much fun for 5 cents. The carousel was carved between 1898 and 1905. It has been in St. Catharines since 1921. The over 69 animals have been restored to perfection. The price is still 5 cents but donations can be made to help with upkeep. The entire park area is lovely. RUSH fans can visit the Neil Peart pavilion in the same park. Bonus!

The carousel is one of 9 authentic antique carousels still operating in Canada, this is a St. Catharines tradition!! My kids rode it, now my grandkids ride it for the same price!! Thx to Sid and Dorothy for donating it!!! BUT the music is now out of tune, who do you contact in the city to tune this musical marvel and keep it playing beautifully???

We're very enjoy the moment no matter how many times you visit & walk on the beach or the sand never gets old. The beach is not a place to work; to read, write or to think, It’s a place where all worries melt away in the summer heat as you lay under your beach tent or go swimming, fishing or seating on the boat is very peaceful as well.

  • 4/5 Dionne D. 4 years ago on Google
Very cool place to go and visit in St. Catherine's. And yes, a carousel ride is just 5 cents!

  • 1/5 Sandra B. 4 years ago on Google
Won't be open yet. It is surrounded by sand bags to protect it. The beach is unsafe for swimming because of the high water levels and the fact that there is no sand left because of the water.

Beautiful place and clean place for family with kids and pets. The lake is clean and clear. Washroom are inclusive and tidy. The park and playgroud is spacious and great for to spend a full day. Their carousel is I bleive 5 or 10 cents. This summer 2019 they are renovating the Boat area. We go through every summer atleast once.

As always, this is a "must ride" attraction. The historic carousel is still, and always will be, only 5 cents to ride. The 68 characters are over 100 years old, and are maintained by "The Friends of the Carousel".

Great for kids, but a nice walkaround for adults esp during the summer. A few restaurants & cafes near by, so grab a coffee & walk around.

  • 5/5 Aliyyah A. 4 years ago on Google
We visited this park yesterday to find that is still "recovering" from lake flooding. We still had a nice time taking in the general Port Dalhousie area but were not able to use the beach and the carousel was closed. We were able to play on the amazing playground they have there. We are hoping that the park will be fully usable by the end of summer so we can return for another visit. It is a beautiful place regardless.

We have taken our children here and now we take our grandchildren. Cannot beat the price of a nickel! After a ride go for a walk on the beach or observe the yachts tied up along the pier.

  • 5/5 Leah S. 4 years ago on Google
So much fun for kids. It's only 5 cents to ride the carousel. There are lots of beautifully decorated animals to choose from on the carousel. Right beside the carousel is a fun playground. There are swings, a climbing wall, slides, things to spin on and more.

  • 5/5 Jerry B. 5 years ago on Google
Sone really interesting history here. A must see.

  • 5/5 Alison & Aria P. 4 years ago on Google
The diverse history of this carousel was reflected in the aroma of the wood you hop onto one of those horses and you immediately feel the history and the happiness of so many other people who have ridden that ride before you. I was intensely touched by the information that was provided about the carousel and I feel very blessed to have been a part of the families to enjoy their Summers there I have to thank the community for enabling that experience and protecting such a treasured part of their story

  • 5/5 Christine K. 4 years ago on Google
Can't beat five cents to ride the carousel. Love the vintage animals. Some of the animals do not go up and down but plenty do. You can even rent the carousel for private events. If you buy a pass of 10 or 20 rides, you need to use within the same season. Each rider pays, regardless of age or if you are helping a smaller rider. Will definitely return.
