(0 Stars) I was in yesterday and had an appointment for my teenage son with a stylist named Marcia. Marcia completely botched my son's hair. He came in with probably 4-5 inches of length all around looking for a trim but to keep a majority of the length, and have a nice fade from bottom to the longest parts. She went in and just shaved the entire back part almost to the skin leaving essentially a bowl/mushroom cut. I told her to stop but she insisted she was going to "fix" it, so she kept shaving off more and more without using any kind of technique to fade anything. I finally got her to stop with what little hair my son had remaining. We went to The Barber's Chair near the Zehrs entrance and thankfully they were able to fix it into a presentable cut. But all his hair is essentially gone because of Marcia. Marcia also started to complain to another customer about how this was our fault and exactly what we asked for which is incredibly unprofessional to do. She said this is some Japanese trend... maybe it was a trend but in the 15th Century. It was absolutely not what we asked for. If she had admitted she didn't know what she was doing, made a mistake, and couldn't fix it it would have helped the entire situation. But instead she kept insisting this was what we asked for and was our fault, and tried to sell it as some sort of popular hair style. Please do not go here. It's not worth the money, and not worth the headache. You're better off shaving all your hair off at home for free than coming here.

Soooo I’ve been receiving cuts from jack for the past year and not one single complaint or bad hair cut from him. But the last 2 times I have my hair cut by Lilly and basil. Lilly made me look like a mushroom which was supposed to be a bald fade to a number one on top, and basil….. he’s a different story, I went in for a buzz cut and he persuaded persistently that I get a bald fade because it would look “fresh”… I didn’t know that looking like an organic fresh mushroom was his version of fresh. Anyway after the last two mushroom cuts and all that money spent I had to go home and have my wife buzz my head. Stay away from Lilly and basil

This place is a joke. EVERYTHING is way over priced compared to other stores or online for the exact same brands. They are on you as soon as you walk in the door and I am not sure what is more funny. The BS they feed you about how their products are magically better or the girl who wears a lab jacket (Doctors Jacket) to make you think she is an actual doctor...lol Don't ever contradict what they try and tell you or they get all upidty at you. Shows a great deal of insecurity. Do yourself a favour, never walk into this store uninformed or without doing research on a particular item you want to buy or they will feed you manure till the cows come home and make the most money off you as they can under the guise of fake medical knowledge when it's just simple ignorance.

Super impressed!!! This was my first time going there one of my friends referred me and I can’t believe how happy I am with the cut. I even decided to get a beard trim while I was there. Jack was fantastic he is the one who cut my hair and trimmed my beard up. I will definitely be going back and will be letting people know about this place.

Barber Basil was a bit rude. He needs to understand the client’s needs, rather than forcing his views. I showed him a picture, and by no means the fade was even close to the picture. He kept saying he’s got 15 years of experience and I can’t tell him that he did not give me a nice fade. He is full of himself unfortunately. Not satisfied with the fade. Two stars only because receptionist seem nice and the hot towel service.

Less service but higher cost. I used to a regular here for a buzz cut then they provided worse service and less service but continued to raise their price. You used to get a buzz cut, with a razor line up and shampoo but now it costs more and you only get the buzz nothing else. The one barber I saw left and no one else can seem to do a buzz cut without missing a ton of hairs that I have to go home and fix. Nothing like paying close to $40 for a buzz that you have to then go home and fix youself.

0 stars should be an option absolutely don’t listen to you didn’t do my haircut as asked tried once with Aman they had someone named basil step in so I had my hair grow out let this basil guy have a chance again and he didn’t listen didn’t do anything that I wanted. Again would give 0 stars if possible will never go back here again even if they gave me a lifetime of free haircuts I wouldn’t step foot into this place

If I could post picture of HOW TERRIBLE my “FADE” is... you would NEVER consider this place. 34 DOLLARS FOR A FADE HAIRCUT, and I kid you not, she made it uneven so now my entire head looks lopsided. I look crooked. It’s A terrible haircut at a terrible price !!! IM LIVID.

I overheard one of their older barbers (Jim or Jack maybe) use the phrase “those people” in a discussion about black people.

Wow. What an unpleasant shopping experience. Rude, miserable and very unhealthy looking saleswoman giving me her personal opinion on health products instead of informed advise. I will never shop there again. Peanut Mill has my business!

With only one experience from this studio, I would not use their services again. I admit, the ambiance is pleasant and many of the employees are friendly, my styler was not. They were cutting my hair, whilst pushing their values in religion and slandering gay rights. I have never been in such a vulnerable position before. I didn't want to respond because I did not want to leave with a bad hair cut. Eventually I had enough and I asked them to stop discussing the matter to be welcomed by silence and painfully-aggressive hair styling. The irony of this review is I would not have left one, just not returned. But, because your company has been continually contacting me, after many attempts to unsubscribe, I decided to leave this review. I hope this one employee is not representing your whole establishment, albeit it seems your hiring standards need to be reviewed.

Excellent spot, highly recommend.

A few weeks ago I got a haircut here, and it may qualify as one of the poorest haircuts I've ever received. The quality no-where near what should be expect for the price. It was rushed, and with little attention to detail. After I went home, I noticed my hair was uneven in multiple spots, patches of hair were missing, and showered that night, I noticed my neck burning from the barbers poor use of clippers. I don't know how they can get away with these prices for this quality. I went to a different, better known barber the following day to fix my hair, and his first question is if I had let my friend cut my hair at home or something, and not a professional. Stay away from here.

Amandeep gave me a perfect haircut today. She did exactly what I asked for, even with my vague explanation. She was very precise and thorough with making sure the length was proper on all areas. Will be returning to her for my next haircut.

My hair was a mess and I didn't give great direction, but Jack gave me a really nice cut and put a lot of time and care into it. Expensive, but worth your money. Definitely will be returning

Absolutely loved the job they did on my hair, never had it look so good right after a cut, however the shave was not so good. Very nice and relaxing with hot towels and lots of attention but I got a few nicks and now the day after my jaw looks a little chewed up on the left side. Next time I'll just get my hair cut and then shave at home.

Be careful some barbers (Lindsey) can’t do a bald fade

11:15 appointment that the receptionist said she could do for my boyfriend. Waited until 11:35. Got up and walked down to The Barbers Chair about 200 steps away and got seated immediately. We've been coming here for about a year but probably won't be returning due to the waste of time caused by the receptionist. People are busy and have things to do. Waiting 5-10 minutes is acceptable but 20 minutes is where I draw the line. if the receptionist had of been honest on the phone about how busy the stylists were this entire issue could have been avoided. Transparency with customers and communication is essential...

I’d love to give this place 5 stars. The barbers are all really good and i’m always satisfied with the finished product. But i pay to go to a barber shop for the experience, not just a haircut. This is the aspect that has had me walking out disappointed every time. I pay for the precision cut every time, expecting to get a wash with the hot towels - my favourite part about going to the barber. It the best way for a man to treat himself to a nice relaxing experience. However every time i go back, they send me out the door without the wash, and they still bill me for the full service. I keep going back thinking this time will be different, and i keep leaving dissatisfied. I think i’ll have to stop going back. Too bad, I really wanted to like this place.

So. I don't know what I want when I get a haircut. So I entrusted Basil to see my head and face, and use his expertise for a cut and beard trim. Well bud you smashed it outta the park. Hair = 🔥 Hot towel?! Amazing. Squared it all up real nice, much sharper than I could ever do. I've kept the lower lip soul patch you shaped in there! "let's get creative" he said. Man 12/10 your my guy.

Eric did a fantastic job with my hair I don’t think I’ve had a more perfect hair cut and he’s really cool and talkative. I highly recommend him for anyone looking for modern cuts.

You always know what is best for his hair and make it a quick and detailed experience! First experience with my son who doesn’t love getting his haircut was with Basil! He is outstanding! Awesome cut! And while I was standing in the hall, he had my son laughing and smiling! Excellent job Basil!! Second experience( Basil was not available) Marcia cut his hair, she was definitely not good with kids. My son was absolutely miserable the entire time I ended up standing with him because she was definitely not a kid person! and although he wasn’t moving around or fidgeting, she managed to miss hair around his ears, the top was uneven and even nicked his ear in two different spots! I was not impressed to say the least. Also, my appointment was for 4:30 pm and when I arrived was told Marcia was just finishing up with a client, and I still did not get called in until 5:00 pm. I will only be returning when Basil is available.

I’ve been getting my haircut here for at least the last 6 months after getting my hair cut at places like First Choice for years. I can say without a doubt that the quality, value, attention to detail, and the level of professionalism at this establishment is far superior than that of other places. I had the pleasure of getting my hair cut by Amandeep today and she was wonderful and she did an amazing job! I will be requesting her from now on. Do yourselves a favour and get your hair cut here.

Love this place! Lots of useful products, and the staff are very friendly and knowledgable, and always take the time to answer your questions. I've been using the silver spray as a toner, and it feels really soothing, and seems to be making my skin much less red and irritated.

My boyfriend just used this place for a beard trim , Marcia was very unprofessional . She asked him if he would like underneath his beard cleaned up with an electric razor which should be standard with a beard trim. After heading to the counter she told the lady at the front it was a extra $10 and she proceeded to asked him for $28 when he was told $18 on the phone and Marcia made no mention of the “extra $10 charge. If we could give this place less than 1 star we would . I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU GO TO A DIFFERENT BARBER SHOP !!

Knowledgeable staff that will work with you rather than just push supplements AT you. Very happy with our visits! Fantastic source for info on specialty diets. (gluten, dairy, sugar, etc) We even get out pets their holistic aids here. Very satisfied!

I've been coming here for a couple of years now and honestly I cannot recommend them enough. All of the staff, especially the owner Jack, are very professional and skilled at their craft. Some weeks ago I had a haircut done by one of the staff, and it turned out to be a little lopsided (my fault for not realizing sooner). By the time my hair grew a little bit, it became very noticeable so I called back with the intention of paying for another haircut to get it fixed (it had been two weeks). I spoke with Jack and he booked me in immediately to take care of it. Not only did he do a great job, but he also refused to take any money/tip despite me insisting that it was my fault for not addressing the concern sooner. In a nut-shell, this is just one example of how Jack prioritized the care of his customers, and maintains a high standard of excellence in his barber shop. This is also the reason why I will keep coming back! :)

Tried this place based on convenience and recommendation from a friend. $37 for a kids haircut seems insane as well as completely didn’t listen to what he wanted an asked for- took more than double the length off and there is zero blending down so basically he has a perfect bowl cut…. We left and immediately went to Lids to find a hat .. to cover his terrible haircut

Worst haircut I’ve ever gotten… I asked for a little bit off the sides and back and they fricking cut off pretty much all the back of my hair, they cut off some on the front and pretty much trim all the hair on the sides of my head. DON’T GO HERE IT IS A WASTE OF MONEY! IT ALSO LOOKS TERRIBLE!

I could have had a better experience, I attempted to tell my stylist the length I wanted the top of my hair and he kept reassuring me he understood and then it was an inch shorter than I wanted. I did however like the line work on the sides and back it was very nice with good attention to detail. At the end of the experience I had no time to stay so I did not complain and left a 40% tip regardless. But it is very irritating that I now have an undesired and non fitting haircut for my prom.

I went back in October to get all my long shaggy lockdown hair cut off. She did quite a nice job, not particularly what I asked for, but I did show up late AND maybe it wasn’t particularly to her expertise. Either way, was a really nice clean up. Would definitely go back to this spot again and recommend it. Really polite staff as well.

Have been getting my hair cut here about twice a month since discovering them post lockdown. Kris is an expert with the scissors and trimmer, always leave looking and feeling 110%. All the staff are friendly and welcoming and the online booking system (reservations only due to covid) is easy to use and you don't have to pay to reserve. Would recommend!

I have been looking for a barbershop for the past year that will pay attention to my request and care about what they are doing. Last week I found Mavericks and they were amazing. Jack, the owner, runs a great business and it shows through his employees. From the booking of my appointment to the follow through with my hair cut and beard trim, It was the best experience a guy could ask for. Genine was my barber and she was awesome. She paid special attention to what I was looking for and gave extra care with my beard (which I have been working on perfecting for 6 years, so having someone mess with it is a sensitive subject). My haircut was exactly what I wanted and she cleaned up my beard perfectly. I received a hot towel over my face while she washed my hair after my cut was done. I received a straight razor shave on my neck and face, which was exceptional. After everything mentioned above, Genine styled my hair and even made recommendations on the best shampoo for my hair and a great beard balm for my beard. This barbershop should have a 10+ rating. They are great and I would recommend anyone to go here for a great hair cutting experience. I will definitely be a life long customer. 🙂

This is my first choice when it comes to men's haircuts, awesome decor and comfortable chairs. Employees are polite, and know what they are doing! You get a spa like experience with a regular men's haircut, straight razor cuts for the back with warm cream and a nice warm cloth over your face while they wash your hair. Never leave here dissatisfied. Recommended Mavericks to all my friends and family. the ones who went loved the experience and results just as I did.

Went in specifically for feminine products. They had 2 little boxes on the shelf. Seems like they'll stock anything that says "healthy" or "vitamin" on it, wothout even reading the label.

They have some of the basics but there is far too much emphasis put on gimicky supplements instead of food and nutrition. I was also scolded by one of their staff for being vegan and was told it was a bad decision. One staff member was understanding of my lifestyle choice and was helpful. Still left a bad taste.

Price is unbeatable, the folks running the place know what they are doing. Consistently better pricing than Amazon.

Great health store. Could use more makeup. Great staff. Can get pricy though. But what do you expect...

I have shopped here for 15 years. Good supplements and the best advice. Advisors take time to answer questions and give counsel with up-to date information and thoughtful analysis of individual needs, etc.

My littlest guy was quite nervous and has never gotten through a cut at the barber shop and Ryan was his barber, he took amazing care and patience to make sure my little guy felt safe and got the cut he wanted!! Took my son for a haircut last night and showed a photo. Specifically stated we wanted the top length the same but flowy so it can be styled. My poor 2yo now has the sloppiest hair on top with all different lengths looking like an early 2000’s emo cut on the side. Not even a week before Christmas and no time for his hair to grow back before photos 😩

We've taken our children to this shop for a couple of years now for their hair cuts. We usually have Basil cut my youngest son's hair and he always does a great job and is great with the kids. My other son had long hockey hair that he's been growing out for a year and we don't typically have someone specific work on him so we just went with who was available at the same time. You can probably guess where this is going... I had asked for him to shorten the front so that it flowed into the back better and just asked for him to clean up the back a bit for more body. Just a bit, not much. He proceeded to show me an inch on the front. I thought it was a bit much but we wanted the front shorter so I said ok. Then specified AGAIN, not much on the back. I sat down and started scrolling my phone and when I looked up a couple minutes later, 3-4 inches was gone from the back of his head. The front is now LONGER than the back. A year of growing, gone... He was devastated. I simply can't understand how someone can take off so much hair when they were asked to just clean it up. I realize miscommunications can happen but at the very least, he should show someone what he's thinking to double check before ever removing that much hair. Especially with kids, who probably won't speak up for themselves or realize what's happening. Very disappointed.
