Fantastic location with the pub itself well decorated, appropriately lighted and reasonably clean. However, the food menu is rubbish. Lack of variety and no “lunchtime quick bites”. The pizzas are expensive with small amounts of toppings and are sometimes delivered to your table burnt. Curry’s are again expensive, small portions, with the curry itself thin and very bland. I have yet to receive the same type of chip with my order. Sometimes it might be a small fry type, another time it might be the lager type, but never consistent.

The pub looks like it has been renovated recently and it looks good. Unfortunately the atmosphere is not good as the main restaurant bit is quite noisy. I think this is due to poor acoustics. The service was reasonably quick and the staff even though were very young they were very pleasant and accommodating. The food was a bit hit and miss, my fish burger was beautifully cooked and tasty but the portion was small and needed some kind of salad to complete the dish. My partner’s roast was a good portion but lacked flavour and the beef was very chewy. For these prices I’d expect more and I probably wouldn’t visit again any time soon.

We've eaten here a few times and the food is always good, however we went with a guest who has a peanut allergy this weekend. We were given conflicting information on the allergens in the menu. We were told by one member of staff that the whole kitchen was "completely peanut and nut free". However the allergens menu listed both nuts and peanuts being used! Not great and could have caused a situation if we hadn't double checked the information in the menu.

Great setting and a really great 'nice' family restaurant where you can take the children, feel comfortable and still get good food. Not the best pizza you'll ever eat but fair from the worst.

Only stopped for a quick drink. Atmosphere was good. Live football on the TV in the bar area and people eating round the other side

Really nice place to eat and drink! Food is well priced for the amount of food you get and the quality of it. Lovely setting with really nice staff!

We ate here today and had the worst experience possible. We arrived as a group of 4 adults and 4 children and had planned to have a nice quiet Saturday birthday lunch. Unfortunately, this plan was ruined when we had 10+ of the loudest drunkards, with no respect for others, placed right next to us during our meal. The individuals creating all the noise were a part of the local areas rugby team and were given exceptionally better service than what we received. All their food arrived before ours (remember they arrived AFTER us), whilst we had to wait forever for ours to come. After complaining to the staff and manager regarding all the noise disturbance, we were basically told to just put up with it. All the staff seemed to know these individuals, so it was clearly a lost cause to even raise this issue with them. You need to pay more money to get better treatment at The Cricketers it seems. One of the woman staff members tried to come up with an excuse that they were not aware we had a table with children at it... even though they could clearly see 4 children at the table!? And the OpenBooking online form didn't ask for amount of kids/adults when booking. Regardless, I can’t fully understand why this information would be needed. Even if I came here as 2 adults for a meal then I still wouldn’t want 10+ drunkards placed right next to me, yelling profanities and drunken slurs constantly in ear-shot whilst I struggle to hear the people talk at my own table. In conclusion, Cricketers ruined the birthday experience for our grandson.

We went for a Christmas lunch. It was well cooked and reasonably priced. There is plenty of space inside and a good-sized car park. My only issue was that the wine was either not great or too expensive. Would go again.

FOR MORE, GO LISTEN TO OUR PODCAST - PUBTROTTERS PUBCAST WE ALWAYS GIVE 5s AS ALL PUBS ARE DIFFERENT AND GREAT CONTEXT There is a partner and daughter and dog for a late lunch on a weekday. ATMOSPHERE Friday PM was really chilled and nice, roaring fire, great autumn afternoon SERVICE Superb, very kind, patient, and welcoming. STYLE Front is classic pub, back is like mini wedding venue. They have pub at front, which is great, very cricket themed (no surprises), then what looks to be new barn space at the back, which is very airy and bright. Also outdoor and kids play area. TOILET It's very sleek and clean, and it is a nice addition to the new elements i imagine from the old pub parts. PRICE Not bad at all, food very reasonably price, cant remember ilexact sums. FOOD & DRINK SUPERB non-alcoholic range. I was driving and was very excited to see 5 different non alco beers, as well as cider! Alcoholic selection was great. Partner had a lovely malbec. Food was incredible. However, we had to order a new dish as the pasta ragu had had 0 taste. I'm not sure if a vital ingredient was missed in the sauce or what. But they were very accommodating and the other dishes were lovely.

An anonymous place that has a neutral atmosphere. We'll lit (in the evening) and so a bit bright. Hard furnishings. Kitchen played music whilst cleaning at the end of service which impacted our ability to have a conversation. Popular with families during the day and early evening.

A group of us went boxing day for a late lunch. The food was lovely, the staff were very helpful and polite. Will definitely go back. Plenty of parking available, a lovely country pub.

Great wood fired pizzas that always come out excellent, and with top quality ingredients. I find some of the other food not as good but still good quality pub food. Lovely and warm inside as it gets cold and you're welcome to take along your canine friends. Great family spot with events usually going on.

Had a very nice family meal here. Pub grub done really well and the ale was first class. Staff were friendly and attentive. Bit empty for a Friday but I suppose people are saving for Christmas. Probably be harder to get a table nearer to the big day. Will happily go there again. Thank you for a great meal.👊

Good for family meals. Wood fire pizzas and speciality burgers at lunch time. Good atmosphere and service. Service a little slow but everything cooked to order. Personally I would appreciate a little more variety on the menu.

This is such a great place for food and drink. Very tastefully decorated inside and out, you can see what's going on in the kitchen and how they make such brilliant food. Pizzas are brilliant and the prawns for starter were delicious. Would highly recommend.

We visited The Cricketeers yesterday for a Birthday celebration. It was my first visit and had been recommended by 2 members of our party. Our experience from our arrival to leaving was excellent. The staff are ALL so welcoming and offer service with a smile - nothing was too much trouble even though the restaurant was busy! A special thank you to staff members Jaz, Harley and Ethan but thank you to all. The menu is varied and has a good choice of veg and non veg dishes. All 5 meals ordered were delicious The portion sizes were excellent - my personal choice of fish and chips comes highly recommended! (But the steak, pizza and burgers looked equally good). Excellent value for money. We left knowing that we would definitely be returning again!

The food was fine but feel a bit fed up as we told the waiter that we had left him a good tip on the table but he still put over £6 service charge on our bill . So we ended up paying over £11 tip which was more than my meal cost, as we only went for lunch.

Disappointing would be the word. I've eaten here a few years ago and the food has gone downhill. 6 of us all ordered different things and none of it was great. Lacking flavour generally. GF pizza was just burnt and very dry all around the edges and really unappetising. The saving grace really was the children's play area which is great. The food wasn't awful but certainly not worth the high prices. And although they are clearly well set up for families, the staff need more training on how to do that - lovely menus for the kids with activities but no crayons given. Had to ask multiple times for kids cutlery, kids drinks given in high ball glasses which were lucky not to get tipped over (kids are 3&6 so for the youngest we just put it in a shorter water glass). The pub is in a lovely setting and has a lot of potential but needs someone to make some improvements and give staff some training. Service was prompt and plenty of staff for a Saturday lunchtime at least.

We have recently visited for mother's Day. Good bits. Food was very nice and hot(roast potatoes need work though). Staff were very friendly and helpful. Bad bits Should have made it clearer on booking that you were running a very limited mother's day menu. I had spent all week looking forward to a pizza. Service was really slow. 2hrs 50 mins considering we were the first table in the restaurant and a set menu? We asked for an additional veg as between 3 people there were 2 florettes of broccoli and a teaspoon of Savoy cabbage. On looking at the bill we were charged £3.5 for this even though the menu did not menu did not mention sides.

The place is lovely. It has an amazing outside area. My kids played happily in the children's area while we chat. The only down side was it seemed that the members of staff were a bit lost ( even so they were very friendly).

Stopped off here halfway through Gravely circular walk. Needed a respite and some well deserved refreshments. A great choice!! The food was absolutely amazing. Could not fault it. The young lady behind the bar was a joy. We shall definitely visit again.

Poor evening at the Cricketers. Place overwhelmed on a sunny Bank Holiday weekend. We booked a table but were told due to numbers of people eating outside it was at least 45 minute wait for food. 1 hour after we ordered they brought our kids food out but were then told our mains were another 30 minutes away. By this point we cut our loses and left getting fish and chips on the way home. Staff were trying their best but not a great experience. Hopefully will improve throughout the summer.

Very disappointing! We came last night for a lovely meal with our children and friends. We arrived at 5.30 ordered at 6 and didn’t receive our food until 7:30!!! (There was only 4 tables so they weren’t even busy!) By this point the children were just tired and not even hungry. The calamari starter was very over cooked. Both my steak and my friends (medium rare) were so over cooked both were not edible! All extremely over priced for such a poor experience!

Lovely pizza, serving staff were friendly efficient and great with the kids. The Pavilion is light and airy, great outdoor space, good for the summer, the kids could enjoy the play equipment whilst I relaxed in the garden. Ample parking.

I had a friendly service by the bar attendant although a pint of Guinness comes to £5! Damn inflation! The location is lovely and spacious with great outdoor seating in a quiet cul de sac Village. Nice seating arrangement separating diners and drinkers. Would have given it a 5 stars if I'd had a roast dinner.

Came here for a family lunch to celebrate my daughter's 1st birthday, she has lots of food allergies and the kitchen and waiting staff were so accommodating in finding out something she could eat, I clouding checking the ingredients of everything, right down to the vegan cheese! Really appreciated, thank you ☺️ Food was lovely too!

Manager/owner of this this establishment and his team are absolutely smashing it here, we’ll done. 🎉 Hands on manager who treats his staff with kindness & respect, definitely not worried about rolling up his sleeves and pitching in, serving customers behind the bar and delivering their food, all the staff friendly, courageous and extremely helpful and the food amazing. Thank you for such a warm welcome, an amazing meal in a lovely relaxed atmosphere, will definitely be returning real soon.

We recently had our wedding reception at the cricketers and couldn’t have been more pleased. Mike and the staff were incredible and catered to every one of our requests. The food was outstanding thanks to Ziggy and the other chefs. Thank you all so much for making our big day so special x
