The Mixed fish skewer for me was absolutely delicious. Never had one before. I went on a Tuesday evening so was not too busy. I believe I was served by the manager and was really welcoming, attentive and professional. Good location and will be back again soon. Thank you.

I highly recommend this restaurant. We’ve been to Deroka many times and always happy with the service and food! On this special occasion it was my son’s Holy Communion. My son specifically picked this restaurant to celebrate with family and friends. What a wonderful choice he made. From booking the table right through to the day was wonderful customer service. A special menu was put together for the occasion, decorations were put up, ice cold jugs of water were set up for when we arrived. Changes on the day were not a huge issue. The owner was so welcoming and extremely kind to everyone. Thank you for such a lovely day!! The food was fantastic, the service was amazing and all were so happy with the day. Thank you for making my son’s day so special.

Me and my girlfriend visited this restaurant the other day with high expectations based on all the good reviews. We ordered the “beef bourginon” sharing steak and when it arrived it was burnt on the outside and raw and cold on the inside (the steak was not rare it was RAW), the waiter cut the steak for us and even he realised it wasn’t cooked properly and he tried telling us that that’s how it normally comes but they can put it back on the grill if we wanted to (we had a bad feeling about this as they didn’t ask us how we want our steak cooked when we ordered) the steak came back out 5 mins later, some parts burnt, some parts still raw, was barely edible. We complained about this and they tried to justify it by saying “people used to complain that it took too long to cook and we try to meet demand to make it quicker” I never normally complain about things but we got home that night went to bed and I was woken up by my girlfriend vomiting in the toilet and I also felt rough the next day. IF YOU DO NOT KNOW HOW TO COOK A STEAK TAKE IT OFF THE MENU. However despite all this the starters we had were great and other people food looked nice too my main advice is just avoid the steak

Nice place in hitchin. Not the best food ever but it was ok. I had salmon which was a good size portion but had only potatoe with it so was a bit dry for me. I asked for mayo and was not offered any alternative.

On a bit of a whim we just checked out a number of eating places in the town centre and settled on Deroka because it had the most varied menu at reasonable prices. We were the only customers at first but not for long. What surprised and delighted us wsd the quality of the food, delicious and fresh. Prices really do compare well with others that have less on offer. Service was faultless too. We will definitely be back!

Went to Deroka with the family today, I had the mint lamb burger and hot meze, the food was absolutely amazing. The staff were quick and friendly, would highly recommend this restaurant

Took my team of 6 here for lunch the other week, and had their lunchtime menu. Food was amazing, everyone had different items and all agreed it was really good. We had starters and main course, then about 2 drinks each. Total bill came to just shy of £100 which I thought was good value for 7 heads. Would definitely come here again!

Two course lunch for less than £15 in a very cosy restaurant what not to like! Foods were yummy and good quality. We had a nice lunch and lovely service. We would love to order Turkish tea/coffee or turkish wine but were not on the menu. A little gem in town 🌟

This is a lovely restaurant in Hitchen. When we went, it was very quiet for a bank holiday weekend. The food was delicious and the service was pleasant. I'm unable to recommend any dishes, as my order isn't on the list below.

Menu was confusing for dietary requirements, Had to aks the gentleman serving who said ignore the symbols, chose your food and he would let me know if the dish I wanted was suitable or not. Not ideal if it was a busy service time, plus I would like to be able to make an informed decision rather than a guess. Food was nice though. Grilled hallounmi with salad could do with some sort of dressing just to finish it off and then it would have been perfect. The lamb burgers were cooked to perfection. Lovely and juicy, just a shame that they were served with plain mayo rather than yoghurt and mint sauce as stated on the menu. It seemed like like 1 member of front of house staff did everything while the other guy just stood there bored staring or on his phone. Felt a bit uncomfortable being watched constantly. Paid the bill and left a cash tip, wasn't until we had left that we realised that a service charge had already been included in the bill. Our fault for not checking, but feel it should also be mentioned as this is not always standard practice. All in all, Yes we would return because the food is great and we would recommend.

My girlfriend & I stopped in as we was passing and I'm glad we did. The restaurant is lovely and cosy, the service was superb and the food was to die for. I had the swordfish steak & my girlfriend had the lamb kofta, beautifully cooked and very tasty. We will definitely visit again as there is so much I wanna try on the menu.
