Stevenage Town Centre

Shopping center

👍👍 I am always able to get most everything I need or want. I also like the fact that it's only pedestrian. The only thing that let's it down is the sixties/seventies concrete look. People often mention town, centre, shops, shopping, Stevenage, time, restaurants,

Sat at Starbucks for an xmas shopping break. Group of upstanding gentlemen have a disagreement, it appears one of the social elites may have had an encounter with another social elite, 'hark, thy friend! our colleague has been piercd by a blade!' But no blood was showing. That s ridiculous their friend exclaimed! Then the local constabulary appears and they abscond from the scene. 10/10 day. language has been cleaned up and translated to normal English.

A Large amount of redesigning of the town center is taking place. An ice rink is now on the site of the old bus depot, so e Christmas type stalls are also popping up. The building of the town center has given it 3 stars as it is a bit of a pigs ear at the moment.

Haven't been into town centre for a very long time, mainly because I've been disappointed in it. Along side no reason to go there. Stores I want are outside of centre. Went to up grade my phone. Saw a lot of new food places that have opened up since I last went. Going this time was nice as the Christmas light had been switched on & it had food market stalls down the centre part. It gave it that nice Christmas market feel. So I enjoyed the visit. I gone late in the day so it was beginning to get dark & able to appreciate the beauty of the town Christmas lights. I asked a stall holder how long are they here for. Throughout the Christmas festive season.

Money been spent to make it less of a place to visit. Soon be a housing estate. Centre of town is becoming a homeless venue this livens up an otherwise dead boring town

Stevenage is a prime example.of the new town movement post ww2 with its brutalist architecture but absolute jewels of what was contemporary art like the mural on the side of.primark. it never ceases to be re- inventing itself but I will always wonder what it's like inside the.clock tower. Vive la.stevenage!

Im not going to lie, i have lived in stevenage town along time and there are a fair few choice words i have to describe this place witch i wont us on here. But by god have they mess this town up and when i say them. I mean the Labour Party that is currently running Stevenage Council they waste millions of pounds to uplift the town when there is 2 million other things they could be spending money on if i was you i stay well away from stevenage altogether

I really like Stevenage town centre. There are decent shops with a good variety and some excellent food. It's either good for fulfilling your needs or just a day out shopping

This is pretty much the new town where the railway station, bus interchange and the shopping mall are situated. Plenty of shops for your needs.

Still has a good selection of shops and coffee shops, quite a lot of shops have gone, although they are making new areas for the summer. Still worth a visit

The town centre is looking very dated. So many Shops are closing. The centre was supposed to be completely rebuilt but only 1 side, leading to town centre gardens has been done. Lots of beggars in the town centre or as you walk to Asda. Throughout the town centre and paths leading to it, there is a constant smell of "Weed". Forget seeing any police officers or PCSO'S, even at the busiest times, when have bike or escooter riders racing through. When there is an accident on the A1m then most of the town is in grid lock. Driving to most of the fast food places requires double backing in yourself to be on the right side of the road. Plans are being discussed about making the town centre a predestination walk area and all roads leading to it be at 20mph. Leisure park is limited to restaurants and game bars but there are no clubs or just bars anymore. These are located in the old town. A few plus bits. New bus station, which has access to the train station. The train station has 4 platforms and can get to most places north and south. Good selection of restaurants and bars in the old town. Lots of "Branded chain" restaurants in the leisure centre. With the science park getting a £350million investment and Airbus expanding, which will attract lots of new people, the town centre needs to be modernised and greatly improved, to make sure it becomes a great town.

It's very run down and I didn't like leaving my car in the car park it felt unsafe Also the speed hump leading to the car park is huge and damaged the underside of my car, sports cars should avoid.

It just seems to get worse as the years go on unfortunately empty shops all around cheap pop up shops everywhere... I know this is due to shopping online taking over but would much rather travel to Milton Keynes and shop there...

It's ok, lots if fast food places like noodles, Gregg's, fish and chips etc. Not great place for restaurants and sitting in to eat. Just an every day shopping street, like everywhere else.

It still has a few good shops , but needs a mayjor overhaul as regards to buildings very 50,s and drab. I belive a billion pound rebuild of the town centre is going ahead . Which hopefully will bring a better shopping experience to all . Plus new cinema,s and restaurants ect . Stevenage has much potential .

The town centre is undergoing regeneration but many of the shops are empty so the shopping experience has shrunk but it looks cleaner and more modern but needs the council to market the empty shopping spaces.

Nothing worth visiting apart from Primark boots only time I go into town visit bank and the barbers in the indoor market. If you like betting and slot machine's charity shops or coffee your in luck. I have lived here for sixty one years and looking too move as far away from the Place as possible, all the decent shops have gone and half the time you don't hear English spoken and you feel uncomfortable if walking around after closing time the town centre is what is laughingly called a pedestrian area with signs at all entrances no cycling yet some idiots are so confident that nothing will be done pull wheelies

Changing for the better, just hope the shops, don't stay empty too long, and takeaways return like McDs Burger King

👍 Dropped my daughter off as she works in one of the shops there and thought I'd pop into B&M to get some tea bags. As usual I ended up spending loads more than intended as I always find so many bargains in there. Great shop!
