Right in the centre of Stirling with free parking. Room was fine considering the price (much larger than expected) and the breakfast included was good. There are so many great restaurants nearby. Staff very professional. Stirling is a great place to visit

Lunch in Cronies was amazing. The special, Balmoral beef was superb. Cannot fault this place. Service is friendly and professional, ambience perfect, great value with tasty food. We are locals so can't comment on hotel rooms but highly recommend for a meal or drink

I stayed last night and I was very happy with my stay overall. The staff are all lovely and friendly. The check-in desk (Cat) was very nice and the restaurant staff all very nice. Rooms - it's an old hotel, the room I had was not bad, it's kind of what I expect. Old looking but clean. Parking - good parking at the back of the hotel (you will need to check if they have spaces first though as think gets busy). Food - very good restaurant meal at night, the Balmoral beef was amazing but breakfast was a bit of a disappointment in all honesty. No haggis and the black pudding was dry. It's not the worst breakfast I've ever had but certainly not the best either. Location - Very good and very central. Overall I'd rate the hotel 4 out of 5 stars (on Google review) I would stay again when next working or visiting here Thanks!

Just home from spending a lovely weekend in this hotel. Shout out to Dee for giving us a truly warm Scottish welcome and to all other staff for being polite, helpful and highly professional. Food was way above average for any 3* Hotel. Our accommodation was lovely and warm and perfectly comfortable. Located in a central position, it is easy to access every aspect of what Stirling has to offer. Will definitely be returning. Thanks for looking after us so well.

Had High Tea. Really lovely. Service good, although had to wait a little bit for the condiments. Parking area very busy at back - got the last tight space next to bins. Needed a space as partner can't walk far. Enjoyed our meal and surroundings and will return.

Was at a wedding the couples wedding rings were misplaced before the ceremony, and the hotel got evacuated at the evening reception, due to a person in a room using the shower with the door open it triggered of the fire alarm we were all standing in the street waiting on the fire engines to arrive. The newlyweds will never forget their wedding day.

Very warm welcome on arrival. Room was adequate for two people . Had everything you needed kettle, ironing board ,TV , bathroom was clean staff were super helpful and prompt . Buffet breakfast plenty of choice central for shopping and tourists attraction. My only complaint The beds were really hard as were the pillows I didn't sleep ended up sitting in reception on a comfortable chair reading from around 4am . The car park was an issue as the parking was taken up by staff

This was our fourth stay at this hotel, so good to get single rooms which were actually one double and one king size beds at the normal charge. The hotel is so central to High St, shopping centre and bus and train station. The food is excellent and the staff are so very friendly and helpful.

Stayed for a single night at the Golden Lion Hotel. We initially missed the parking entrance, but found it on the go-around-again circuit of Stirling centre. Good welcome from the Reception staff, clear instructions, great comfortable room, and an excellent evening meal. Staff were very helpful - I even got gifted a pen when I'd lost mine. A hearty breakfast with a good range of options and a quick and easy checkout. Will definitely return to stay again, for longer, to use this great location to explore more of Stirling.

Great central hotel in Stirling. Shop around for a good deal. Room was very clean and quiet as was at the back of the hotel. Bed was comfy and had a good nights sleep (Friday night stay). Good supply of tea coffee and shortbread in the room. The bath needed resealed and the bathroom door stuck slightly on the floor … didn’t particularly impact my stay but reason for 4 starts. Breakfast was great. Cooked breakfast, fruit, warm pastries etc. Variety of coffees from machine. Apple and orange juice was from a machine too….. fresh orange would have been better but that’s the only criticism. Staff were lovely

Came for a long weekend away all the way from Yorkshire. The second night we had an issue in the room but staff were so quick to change us to a different room. Staff were so accommodating and very friendly! It’s just what you expect when you come for a visit to a different place. The cronies bar and restaurant staff are absolutely lovely. Megan Wilson served us and was very helpful, she had a smile on her face and was so lovely! We did tip the staff at the end of our visit here. Thank you so much to everyone at the golden lion hotel for your outstanding hospitality and friendliness! We will be returning.

The hotel is situated in the center of Stirling, an ideal place to go out for shopping, visit the Old Town Jail, Stirling Castle and the William Wallace monument. There is a car parking at the back of the hotel, signs and address are not clear if you first time traveler to the hotel. Disadvantage, we are sleeping in the front of the hotel, is the noise from te street. Also the bed is not very comfortable, sleeping with two persons and one is turning around, wakes the other. The bathroom is great, floor can be slippery when wet. The breakfast is excellent and our dining tonight was also excellent. This hotel could be more appealing if some maintenance was carried out to the rooms and decorations were put straight.

Although the hotel is in a nice area & consists of polite staff. The room was quite underwhelming. There was cobwebs in the ceiling corners & above the bedhead there was loads of dust. So hygienic standards need to improve.

Overall not the worst place but the rooms did not match photos online. Did not have a chance to try the restaurant. Service was subpar when we arrived, but checkout process was smooth! Location is great - not far from train station and pretty walkable area. Was at bottom of the hill from the castle and other attractions in area. Room was very outdated and overall not great. No thermostat and the room was very hot so we had to open the window to wait for it to cool down and circulate out the stuffy smell. Be warned the elevator/lift is quite small. Hallways had a very chemical smell. Glad we were only in for one night.
