A Lackluster Landing at Man in the Moon Gastropub Ah, the Man in the Moon—sounds celestial, doesn't it? Picture an old-world pub with all its nostalgia, then crank up the decibel levels to "rocket launch," and you've got the atmosphere here. The sonic boom is so intense, you might as well be having a tête-à-tête with a jet engine. Oktoberfest was the theme of the month. But it felt less "Munich beer hall" and more "corner store costume section." What should have been an engaging cultural pit-stop ended up as a roadblock on the highway of authenticity. Culinary Conundrum The Wurstplatte? Call it the "worst platte." This dish aimed for Bavarian brilliance but landed squarely in Meh-ville. The sauerkraut felt less like a zesty sidekick and more like a reluctant accomplice in this culinary caper. Now let's chat about the server—about as hospitable as a bouncer at an exclusive club. The kind of service that makes you reconsider the social contract behind tipping. An eyebrow raise here, a curt word there, and voilà! You’ve got yourself an experience to forget. In a city known for its diverse culinary delights and intriguing nightspots, the Man in the Moon falls woefully short. If you’re in the Vasastan area, there’s an entire galaxy of better options to explore. This lunar expedition is grounded until further notice. In summary, this Man in the Moon voyage is no Apollo 11; it’s more like a crash landing with no hope for recovery in sight. Aim for the stars, friends, but maybe give this lunar surface a miss.

Came here for lunch. They have an amazing beer selection including bottles and cans. They organize the menu by country. A bit pricey, but some rare beers there. They were celebrating Oktoberfest when we came in. 10+ German beers on tap. We had a few small pours, grabbed lunch and had a great experience. Sat at the bar. Highly recommend this place! 🍻

I had lunch at this restaurant. The food was tasty and good value for money at 115 SEK, including a salad bar with a very limited selection, water and coffee. Service was fine and the food arrived quickly. Good place for lunch. Also looked like a large selection of draft beers was available.

Nice staff at this first visit. Got to sample some beers before deciding, without asking which is a plus. The lunch was Filet mignon, but was so thin it was well-over-done. But I like medium-well so I didn't complain. I might come back, especially in a group as they had a nice back room.

Man in the Moon is situated in a charming neighborhood of Stockholm and is close enough to my current office so I've had the chance of exploring the area and visit this bar on several occasions. As they call it, Man in the Moon is a nice Gastropub that promises a good culinary experience, a must-go for a foodie and beer lover, besides it's not every day that one finds a truly cosmic spot to enjoy some space-bites. The avocado chili fries is a personal favorite starter of mine, Tried Salmon stew which was nice and most importantly let's not forget about the big Meat Plate from the grill. The drink selection is equally impressive, with an extensive beer collection; around 30 taps and hundreds of bottles. They also offer just the right amount of wine options to cover a wide range of tastes. It's the kind of place where you can sit back, relax, and sip on your favorite drink. Man in the Moon's staff are genuinely shining with stellar service. While they may be as busy as bees buzzing around due to the bar's popularity, they're always warm, friendly, and more than willing to help and go that extra mile. , keep in mind that the bar can get quite loud, especially during peak hours. If you prefer a quieter ambiance, consider visiting during off-peak hours. However, the only slight downside is the noise level and the pub can get quite loud especially during peak hours, which may not be to everyone's liking. But if you're in for a vibrant atmosphere and don't mind the buzz, it shouldn't be a deal-breaker. And if you’re like me and prefer a quieter ambiance, consider visiting during off-peak hours

Lunch + beer tasting: a new place and experience on the way to Sweden. Generous portions and excellent food. Potato pie pan and beef burger with French. In addition, we tasted a few small (0.2 dl) tastings from Swedish and Norwegian breweries. Great experience: Stout 16% brewed only a small batch, 2 kegs in the entire country of Sweden (picture). Really nice and tasty beer! The restaurant's milieu is atmospheric and cozy, the customer service is also excellent. We come again!

We had the three course dinner. The first two vegan courses were great. But you can't be a vegan food dessert. When the others had pie. I had a lemon sorbet that was so sour that it was difficult to eat.

The staff is super fun and friendly! Lisa especially was enthusiastic to talk beer and styles. They have a diverse draft selection and HUGE bottle selection, including rare and vintage beers.

Don't bother, it may have an impressive beer menu and on the face of it a half decent food menu. However standards in the kitchen leave a lot to desire. My wife ordered mussles, what arrived was not what we hoped for, more than half of the mussles hadn't opened. We raised this with the manager, the dish was replaced with a second round of mussles, again the second attempt was disappointing as a similar amount of mussles hadn't opened. I prized opened one mussle, it definitely had an off smell. The chef failed to check both the first and especially the second attempt to check if the mussles had opened. I think the pub had received a bad delivery or hadn't stored the stock properly, but the chef should have checked before serving.

My go to place when in Stockholm. Always a nice selection of beers. Can't really grade the food since I only co.r here for the 🍻 😁.

The food is very delicious and the menu offers an unexpected gourmet-like variety. we were there after pride so it was very loud inside but the food came all together and although the staff had a lot to do, they were friendly and always alert.

I was in Stockholm for a week and think I went here 4 evenings for beers. Although Sweden creates some decent beers they are challenging to find in bars or stores, but this place seems to have a source as they had multiple excellent craft beers. The frites and shrimp open sandwich were also quite good.

Outstanding service, list of beer from tap is okay (also own collabo beer!), list of bottled beer is fantastic (beer from belgium especially but also Sweden and USA). Recommendation!

Great place to drink beer and eat very good meat. I don’t give it 5 stars because of dessert, which wasn’t good at all. Otherwise if you’re looking for a place where to hang having thousands of beer choices, this is your local.

We walked in here quite late, in search of some local craft beer. Lisa behind the bar had amazing suggestions and infectious enthusiasm, turning the "we'll just go for one" into something a lot more fun and interesting.

I was lucky to choose a good beer. It was in a rush but I enjoyed it nevertheless.

Very central location, great atmosphere and service and a very respectable selection of beers from the world and whisky. I did not have the whisky, but the Buxton IPA was very good. I had a spicy chili cheeseburger and it was very good. Reserving our table was straightforward on the Man's website. I specially appreciated that.

Endless beer collections and good finger foods. The place is massive so easy to find places and is one of the best pubs in town for sure.

If someone says they want to go to a pub-pub. This is the place. Wooden interior, great selection of beer, banter and laughter. It’s always a good time here, don’t miss their October fest!

Not only a great range of beers, but whisky too. Plus very professional staff, not phased by the most esoteric request- drink wise.

Stressier than it needed to be for service staff and guests tonight. My companion was pleased with his food. Mine was functional. A bit underwhealming.

Toilets were spacious, and staff helpful (at the bar, there were no bathroom service and you have to be able to take care of your own business or bring an assistant of your own, as I saw one couple do). The fries were acceptable, could do with a minute or two more in the deep fryer, otherwise no complaints. Had a moderately priced whisky and enjoyed it with friends.

Best beer selection of any bar I’ve been to in Stockholm so far. Was happy to see plenty of draft, bottle, and can options from the US as well.

As a beer lover I've been visiting MITM for some 20+ years now. They've always had good food and great beers! Plenty of seats makes this a place that almost always will have room for you and your friends without a reservation. It's a popular place every day of the week.

Definitely one of Stockholms best places for all kinds of beer. Always exciting and tasty alternatives on one of the 15 or so taps. There is also a long list of beers on bottle as well as rare and aged big bottles. Man in the moon is definitely a must for anyone with an interest in beer!

Came here for their selection of craft beers. Their tap beers and bottled list is pretty incredible. Food was very good for the price and the place just felt very comfortable, really enjoyed my lunch there.
