Eine schön eingerichtete Konditorei mit viel Leben und Lärm. Es ist immer was los. Coole Dekoration und Mitarbeiter sind freundlich und speditiv. Guter Kaffee mit feinem Gebäck.

Overrated ><~ but yeah worth for a visit if you like vintage vibes ! I would say the coffee or cake are good. Moreover, it is more self-service. Therefore, I value more on quality of food and service so there were only average/okay for me. Nothing remarkable except the story of its café. The new zone has better atmosphere though.

Nice cafe which makes all their bread & pastries in house (you can actually watch the bakery from one of the windows). We tried their cinnamon rolls and vanilla latte which were both excellent! I found out this place is a chain and in case they are all on this standard it's definitely my favourite coffee chain!

Great vibe. Good food. Plenty of dessert choices. A must when in Stockholm. It always is busy, and packed, but turnover of customers is quick so you can have a seat soon. Free coffee and bread - not used to that. If you are looking for a brunch place in Stockholm, this is it. Since we plan to return to Sweden, we shall visit this place again.

My insta: assy5050 "Wow! This incredible café bakes all their bread and pastries in-house – you can even watch the magic happen from one of the windows! We indulged in their heavenly cinnamon rolls and a delightful vanilla latte, both absolutely excellent! Learning that this place is part of a chain, and if they all maintain this standard, it's without a doubt my favorite coffee chain now!"

Cinnamon roll was the best one I’ve had so far! I loved that the cappuccino was hot and not lukewarm ☕️ Smoothie was really good too! Definitely worth a visit!

I went w a friend and I returned the following day because I liked it so much. It’s so authentic and the food is delicious. It’s not cheap but I’ve always been able to have a breakfast (latte and oats w nuts or a mozzarella w pesto sandwich w salad) for less than 10€. Water, coffee, and, during lunch time, bread is also included. Lovely staff and well located.

what a lovely place! Best princess cake of my trip, for sure, and lovely lattes. Great selection of Swedish pastries and chocolates, and the woman serving me was kind enough to explain a few of the items in English. Would recommend!

Nice ambiance. Good pastries and free refill coffee, which is not necessarily the best, but it's good enough. Loved the semla!

Nice cafe, and a great place for fika. The desserts are all very intricate, and the drinks are pretty good. There is a large dining space, as well as a bathroom available. Staff was very nice and spoke decent English.

I arrived around midday on a Monday and it was damn crowded. Hardly found any seat. Also there’s no English menu whatsoever. I ordered citron tarte and cappuccino and they were all so-so. The ambiance was great and picturesque however 😅

A bakery with a lot of seats. It look more charming from the outside than it is, but it’s at least different from the normal chains. Food is overall ok. Salads are so-so, but the baked goods are better. As you might expect from a coffee shop. The sound level inside is high, the selection rather small considering the size and the layout of the place a bit dull. Still, if you want a coffee and a cake and happen to be nearby, it’s ok.

Ein super süßes Kaffee muss man drin gewesen sein. Beste Zimtschnecken der Stadt. . . Und wir haben einige getestet 🙂 Erinnert an ein Wiener Kaffeehaus.

We were here for breakfast and we ordered the breakfast set and few pieces of princess cake. Food was good, price was reasonable and the ambience was really great. Love it! Definitely we will come back again.

Sensational café in the center of Stockholm. Amazing modern looking palace with top quality baked goods and a good looking food menu as well. Plentiful seating, reasonably priced for the location and quality. Very mixed crowd, felt open to anyone. They also do takeaway.

I tried the traditional cake here, called princess cake. It’s too soft and tasty, I really liked. The environment is very cozy and comfortable.

Stumbled up on this cozy place on a morning for a coffee and a snack. The cat paintings on the wall add character to the cafe and the pastries were delicious. Vegetarian friendly too.

The best place to have the best Fika. A daily stop for us where we tried various dishs ans pastries ( Try Budapest if you are a clementine addict).

I had delicious cake here with black coffee (I added sugar and milk myself). I will come again as I wanna try their cakes and pastries. I really recommend everyone who visits Stockholm to drop by at this cafe.

Classical Swedish cafe with really delicious desserts. You can also have lunch here, but the food is really simple and basic. There are lots of seats so even during weekend you will find the place. Prices are reasonable. And the best things about vete katten - atmosphere, I can really recommend it both for locals and tourists

I ate the traditional princess cake here, which is not very sweet but has a bit of sour taste and is very unique. The service staff are smiling and very friendly, but the store is a bit dirty due to too many customers.

The saffron pastry with vanilla and the cardamom pastry with vanilla were from another world, truly delicious. My partner is gluten free and he had a really nice sandwich and 2 saffron muffins. They also had a chocolate cake gluten free, altough we did not try it. A little expensive but worth it! I will probably go back later for another pastry 🤩

Its a famous cafe so it's busy usually. The cakes and the coffee are good, I tried the princess cake which was super fresh and tasty. Other than that, it feels very touristy and the stuff is impersonal.

Great spot for a breakfast or afternoon break:) I ordered a latte and the cup was MASSIVE! The pastries were nice, although the cinnamon bun was slightly dry for me that day. But otherwise it’s a very cute place!

I brought my friends here for a typical swedish snack as I had read in several posts and reviews that it was one of the best pastry shop in the city. We were very pleased with their classic Semla; my friends tried it also in other places but they said that the one from this pastry shop was superior. The location is really nice, especially accessing from the entrance on Kungsgatan street. For us the break there was really pleasant, so much so that we returned a second time

Super cute place, gets very busy but the cakes and coffee are fab! Well worth the few attempts we made to get a place here. They have gluten free options too which is a massive plus if you’re looking for it!

Best place to grab a coffee and a cake on a cold snowy day in Stockholm. Quick service, nice staff and a lot of places to sit. But often this place is crowded. The pastry that I tried was scrumptious. They have some good options for sandwiches as well so go try. I paid 100 SEK for a latte and the amazing pastry that you see in the picture. Do try it.

Great cafe to stop into. Make sure to go in the front door. We went in the back and didn’t realize how big it is. But want to beat the line go in the back. Smaller selection but is faster. Great coffee and pastries

We enjoyed cafe time around 16:00 weekday in August. There was crowded but we had table. It's better to find table first and then you order drink and food.

Semla Vete-Katten is one of the oldest cafes in Stockholm and semla is a traditional Swedish dessert for Easter. It is a kind of bun with almond cream stuffing. A bit of cardamom scent. If you visit Sweden during Easter, you should try it hahahaha. But their cinnamon bun is soso for me lol

Founded in 1928, this is a very popular cafe in Stockholm. Gigantic cups for lattes. Signature princess cakes were excellent. We much prefer the version here to another popular cafe we tried in Old Town.

Lovely Kafka (Cake & Coffee) Place Nice Ambiente and amazing cardamom rolls! The coffee ☕️ is nice and it feels like to step into a other time: old stylish furniture, staff is lovely dressed and it’s a hood place to have a break after a city stroll.

Definitely the best konditori (bakery) in Stockholm city center. There is no better princess cake in the city than Vete-Katten’s. My favorite bakery for sure. If you are a tourist in Stockholm, you should visit this place. Additionally, last time I visited this place, I have tried the boiled potato with shrimp and it was really good. Recommended.

It’s nice, but not as great as my expectation. The place is super big with many seats, good decorations and atmosphere. Nice for fika for sure.

  • 5/5 Chirag S. 1 year ago on Google
Recommended place for all tourists visiting the city! One of the best places to have traditional Swedish fika right in central Stockholm. The options are a bit expensive but worth having a one time authentic cafe experience. Many varieties of bakery products are available here and the ambiance is great!

It's worth coming here if it's the first time eating at Vete-Katten. Pastries and cakes are good, great location and in general you can find a seat. The carrot cake is super tasty btw! Note that it can get pretty crowded sometimes.

They don't have Chai latte or matcha latte. They don't have iced tea either. But pastries are lovely and I like that they have a lot of seats inside. You can actually sit down and relax.

Recommend this place if you’re looking for typical Swedish snacks. Sweets are superb and hot chocolate didn’t disappoint us. However I was not expecting the self service approach for such a traditional cafe (which has so many different rooms) as it makes it difficult to find a table and understand where tables are available.

There’s a chain of these cafes throughout Stockholm. This particular location is where this native Californian had her first proper “fika”. Great ambience, like a 1920s cafe. Good coffee and food!

😠 Had heard good things about the place but was sadly disappointed. Waited 15 min for a menu and then 35 min for the food. I ordered the bearnaise 150g steak but as you can see that was never 150g, ridiculously small. Also the warmth was lacking. My company had the chicken burger and it was nearly col...
