Really, really bad service, dirty toilets and a tourist trap! NOT recommended. Visitors are offered a 50% discount for giving a 5star rating on google. There are definitely enough other good restaurants around. We had dinner just before Christmas. The waiter asked us if we would want to start with a glögg and we agreed. In the end 2x 100 ml glögg costed 300 SEK. Even for Stockholm way too much. We waited a long time for our food and needed to use the restrooms which were really dirty (the restaurant had just opened and it was early in the evening.....regarding the prevailling Corona situation really worrying). The best part came when we needed ro pay: We needed to pay twice after the waiter told us the card machine broke. We were charged twice. After complaining about it he said he will book some amount back.....nothing happened yet. Never again!

Delicious dishes: garlic bread and olive as starters; pasta, schnitzel and steak as main courses. We were delighted and enjoyed our visit! Prices for us were too high, but the dishes were really tasty!

NOTHING SHORT OF THEFT! I can’t put into words how shocked and taken advantage of my family and I feel after eating at Tre Valv Restaurant tonight! My husband, 2 daughters, and I arrived in Stockholm 2 days ago and are still tired and jetlagged and wanted a relaxing dinner. I saw this restaurant and it looked nice, in an open square, so I knew it might be more expensive....boy did I not know what was coming! Our waiter immediately started schmoozing with the typical "What a BEAUTIFUL family" comment, and calling me "the queen", and "the youngest one there”, and just going over the top saying he was going to give us “all his time and all his love”! (RED FLAG #1!) He was just overbearing! He then proceeded to explain how they prepare each dish on the menu, literally, in detail! By the time he’d finished explaining 2 menu items in 10 minutes, and was about to start with the next, I jumped in with questions just to get him to stop! Now, we are not ones to usually get appetizers, but we decided to order their garlic bread, at $9.00. But before we could tell our waiter, he began to try to upsell us on a “starter” that was not on the menu (RED FLAG #2!) that would have the classic Swedish shrimp toast, and some smoked salmon, among other things. He was indicating what I had come to believe would be small finger food like Italian “crostini”. He then actually said “If we didn’t like it, he would pay for it”! (RED FLAG #3!) What BS is that? It’s not a matter of liking it, it’s a matter of whether or not we wanted to spend that much! In any case, my husband and I thought, what the hell, let’s splurge a bit. OH MY GOD! If we only knew what we had just done! I suppose we are partly to blame because we didn’t ask the price, but there were no starters on the menu for more than $20 so we thought it would be in that area, or maybe a little higher. Lo and behold, this beautiful tray comes out with a lot of food, and now I am thinking, how much could this tray cost? It included 8 very large fried shrimp, 2 shrimp toasts, 2 salmon toasts, 8 small pieces of garlic bread, and dipping sauces. With every bite we began to take bets on how much this could cost. I said $50 but my husband said $70. Now I was starting to worry! We come from a small town in Georgia with some of the lowest cost of living in the US. But so be it, we thought! We knew Sweden was one of the most expensive places on earth, but exactly how expensive was still to be seen! I ordered Schnitzel, one daughter ordered tagliatelle, and the other ordered Swedish meatballs. The food tasted good, I will give it that. But when the bill came, I read it because I was curious to see how much they charged us for this “starter”. I see 5 beers and wine on the bill that was not ours. I pointed this out to the waiter that brought the bill (not the schmoozer that talked us into that starter), he apologized and redid it. I wish I never saw his mistake, because when I saw the correct bill my mouth hit the floor! They had the nerve to charge us $135 FOR THAT STARTER! Then there was an extra $19 for bread that we didn’t order and didn’t receive, that unfortunately I didn’t catch with the first mistake! The entire bill for 4 people was $250!!!! So instead of a $9 starter like we wanted, we ended up paying $144 for food we didn’t ask for, didn’t want, and some we didn’t even receive….and all the while with their smiling faces looking at us as if a $135 starter was normal! I am very well traveled, (I’ve studied, taught, lived, and led tours all throughout Europe for decades) and usually don’t fall for this kind of tourist trap, but I was honestly so tired from the jetlag and walking for 10 hours, I let my guard down and paid dearly. I just think it is lousy to literally trick us into ordering something that there was no way in hell we would have ordered if we even had a clue it would cost this much! BE WARY OF THIS PLACE! And don’t fall for the fast-talking young waiters that will try to upsell you a starter that will cost more than your four meals combined!

Delicious food, quiet atmosphere. We waited for some time for our order to be placed, that would be my only negative thing to say about the place. Sort of an eclectic bit of decor, but when it comes down to it, it's about the food, and that was fantastic! We would go back again for sure. Kasey was delightful, and when we ordered our wine, she apologized for not having what we ordered but did offer a substitute that was more expensive. She did not, however, charge us more. That is how customer service should be done. She could've simply said sorry were out, what else would you like... but She didn't, and it was a lovely alternative. Normally I take photos of my food. But of course for this meal I did not but trust me. It was very well presented and tasted even better.

Amazing meal! I had the meatballs since I had yet to get them and it was my last meal in Sweden. So glad I did! They were excellent. The waiter was also extremely friendly and gave a great wine pairing and desert recommendation. Would definitely recommend!!

First time in this restaurant. What i had was awesome. The man who serviced our table, Hamza, is a wonderful person, so welcoming, he made me feel like i was at home, not in a place i just discovered. Prices are typical “center of town”, but the food was very good and worth every Svensk krona!:)

This must be one of the best restaurant that I visited in Old Town. Everything is very tasty, the pasta melts in the mouth and the steaks were perfectly cooked. I would highly recommend this restaurant for delicious Italian cuisine when you are in Stockholm .

I came here as a party of 4 with a reservation. The location was great in the middle of Gamla Stan and the decor was cozy. We had ordered two bottles of sparkling and one bottle red, as well as appetizers, main dishes and a dessert to share. The food and portion sizes were good. My only complaint was the lack of customer service and attention. We had to constantly ask for our water to be refilled and it took nearly 20 minutes to receive our cheque.

Great atmosphere and excellent service! My waiter was a friendly, very polite and professional young man named Hassan. He handled all three tables very efficiently, hopping back and forth in both Swedish and English. I was impressed by his cheerful disposition. On his advice, I tried a raspberry-like fruit drink (very refreshing) followed by the garlic bread with olive spread and one of the day’s specials, the fish and chips; all very delicious. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and would go back again!!

FEELING CHEATED! We came into what seamed like a reasonably priced place. We were suggested the « Swedish taste » plate that consisted of a starter and a main. It wasn’t on the menu so we couldn’t see the price but assumed it would be close to a starter + main price. The food was good. The check was hard to swallow: 210€!!!!! We didn’t even have a single glass of alcohol or a desert, for 3 people. The plates were big but the waiter never suggested we should share, and of course didn’t mention the price, which wasn’t written anywhere. He acknowledged when we made the comment that they don’t share the price unless asked to. Tourist trap.

If you are in Stockholm The Valv is must must! Absolutely phenomenal! Wonderful atmosphere, amazing staff and service - and the food was the best Italian I have had since being in Italy itself. Will certainly be coming back and recommend to all. 😘

Delicious food and charming service. The alcohol is crazy expensive though and the water bottle you pay for is tap water. You notice they want to make money with tourists but the food is quite good.

I normally don’t write reviews unless I have either the best experience or the worse experience. I came to this restaurant by randomly walking around the town as I was new to Stockholm, I picked this restaurant because of the beautiful Christmas decorations inside, so I decided to give it a try. I walked in without reservation and the waiter took me to the table quick, I wanted the table by the Christmas lights because I want to take some nice photos but the couple behind took that table. When waiter alessandro came to me to take my order and I asked him if they could change my table when other people leave and he said “ no problem with a big smile” I immediately felt good about choosing this restaurant for dinner and it was my first stop after a 20 hrs flight from USA. After the guests left, they cleaned the table and the waiters Shaker and Alessandro changed the table for me. Alessandro also took a few beautiful pictures of me. The service was top notch, he helped me to refill the water, check on me to see if I’m ok. I enjoyed the food, the service and the attention I was given. It does make a difference when you have nice people running the business. Thank you Shaker and Alessandro for your excellent service and the good impression I received in Stockholm. I hope to return someday.

From the minute we arrived, Leon the head waiter and sommelier, took our drinks order and brought the menus with the drinks, when we had chosen our food he explained about the food we’re ordering as we were not Swedish and went few a few wines he would recommend to pair with the food, when the food came it was amazing, a good proportion and excellent quality and no one was disappointed with either their starter or main course. As it was the afternoon we dined outside and it started to rain, the canopy was lowered and the heaters went on. Before leaving we decided to look at the inside tables, the place is stunning and if this wasn’t our last day would have booked for the night time. A true gem of a restaurant, with exceptional staff, food and drink at a very reasonable prices, located in a small square in the old town. Just wished we went on our first day as we would have been back

We just had one of the best, if not the best dinner of our stay here in Stockholm in Tre Valv! From the minute we walked in, everyone was so warm and welcoming! We didn’t want the Christmas buffet and they accommodated and let us order from the regular menu. Everything we ordered was fantastic, fresh, and well made. Most importantly, Helen, our wonderful waitress made sure we had a great experience. If you are in Stockholm and want to experience high quality food and hospitality, this is definitely the place to go!
