It's not the tallest hill, or the most challenging but the view from the top is fantastic. Starting from the large car park at the bottom, a walk up and back down can be done in an hour, if you want to enjoy the views and explore the rock formations, then give it 2 hours. The steepest part is at the beginning, once you've made it up the grassy shoulder, it's not so bad. It is very wet and muddy in places, especially if you get to the top and head for the trig point, waterproof shoes are a must. On a clear day, you can get great views towards Glasgow and Lanarkshire in one direction and a really lovely view over Loch Lomond from the other. We normally pack some food and sit on the rocks looking towards Loch Lomond eating lunch. It can get busy so arrive early.

Great day out for kids and its free. Amazing views from the Queens view trig point and the Whangie looks like something from game of thrones!

Car park was very busy but lucked out as someone was just leaving. Walk itself was no problem with a fairly easy incline although shortcuts to the top slightly more challenging. It can be difficult in narrow parts to avoid passing people and observing social distancing. We went at the end of September and even though it hadn't rained in ages there will still parts where it was muddy boggy and marshy(the lesser known dwarves). I would recommend sturdy waterproof shoes or boots. We had a sunny day and the views were spectacular along the way and at the top. From the attached stava photo, we meandered a bit once we reached the top and then took a slightly steeper more direct route back. We arrived back at the car park, a bit muddy but very contented.

Great views of the Luss hills and ben lomond. Take a walk up to the whangie and the views get better. Don't leave litter and do not light fires. Keep Scotland tidy...πŸ΄σ §σ ’σ ³σ £σ ΄σ ΏπŸ™†β€β™‚οΈ

Not quite as quick to be up and down as others have said, but it was a good walk with great views of Glasgow and Loch Lomond from the trig point.

Great big car park with plenty of level sections for camber vans - motor homes. 🏑

The car park is basic, no facilities or bin so please take your litter home. The walk up is part grassy part stony, you will need good supportive footwear. Allow an hour or so to reach the top. Great views and interesting rocks at the Whangie.

I'll be honest. I've lived only 20 minutes away from here and never walked this hill. What beautiful walk with scenery. I'll be back.

The Whangie Rock formation is impressive. The walk is a bit boggy in places, and you need to know where to go to see it. Keep right on the path to keep the higher ground to your left, don't go to the top of the hill, or you will pass it. Top of the hill is also nice but very marshy.

Nice walk, only takes around an hour to 2 hours. Sat and ate our lunch at the top. Were bitten badly by clegs so would take/use a spray.

Up and down in an hour if you've got a decent pace. Lovely views, some areas are very gentle so could be great for beginners. Some optional paths are a bit more challenging but short so still fun for seasoned explorers. The large free car park is right at the foot of the hill so it's really perfect!

It’s a car park with nothing here. My car loved it. Would bring my car again. Access to the Whangie is great and many other local walks. Head over to Burncrooks reservoir from here for a nice longer walk.

Nice easy hill. There were thousands of heather flies, so probably didn't go at the best time! Great views!

Didn't walk to the whangie as it was too boggy. Did walk through queen's view and up to Auchineden. Was nice to watch the rain pass me by and not touch the hill. Though the hill had clearly taken a battering earlier in the day! Amazing views over Loch Lomond and back towards Dumbarton.

Walked here in December. Was an easy enough walk whilst muddy. Proper footware and you'll be fine. 1-2hr depending on your pace.

Brilliant walk, moderate effort required but its reccommend you wear decent footwear as its muddy, slippy and narrow in places. Car park is a decent size and there are plenty refreshment stops nearby in Carbeth, Drymen, Balmaha, Coftamie, Kilin, Balfron, Buchlyvie and surrounding areas.

Car Park closed, dozens of cars parked at the roadside families with kids walking along a busy road. Very dangerous, time to open car parks.

Stunning views over Loch lomond and the Ben to the north. Parts of the city to the south. Great for walking dogs and the Kilpatrick hills to the west. Pic of Curach Taken by "Bark N Fly" a fantastic dog centre that caters well for a 65kg exuberant pup ;)

Good sized car park at the Queen's view point - when we were there it was really cloudy and raining so not able to see much of the view. Nice walk to the Whangie though, quite soggy walking and the board walk at the start can be slippery. Good walk though and great once you get there, would be good for children.

This is a nice walk. Not very challenging but there are too many insects in the evening which can be very irritating.

Lovely walk through the countryside with gorgeous views across to the hills. The Whangie is well worth seeing, I haven't seen anything else like it. The walk can be a bit muddy so be sure to wear sensible footwear. Overall a lovely short hike.

An easy hill walk up to the geological feature " the Whangie" ,straightforward path to follow the upper path along the ridge can be quite exposed & a bit soggy underfoot in places, the lower path is a bit more sheltered good views on a fine day.

Get here early if you want a spot, usually fills up by 10AM on a Saturday. Could do with being expanded. The walk itself is lovely but often busy.
