Lansdowne Bridge and Ayub Bridge in Sukkur are two impressive bridges that are really important for how people get around in the area. Lansdowne Bridge is quite old but still very useful. It's not just a way to cross the river; it's also special because it's really old and looks amazing. Ayub Bridge is newer, and it's officially called the "Ayub Arch." It's a modern kind of bridge, and it was finished in 1962. This bridge is all about showing off what engineers can do today. Both these bridges are important for getting around, and Lansdowne Bridge is also a symbol of history and cool architecture in the area. Sukkur is lucky to have them!

Ayub Bridge Sukkur A bridge is a structure that spans a physical obstacle, such as a river, ravine, valley, or road, allowing people, vehicles, or trains to cross from one side to the other. Bridges are designed to support their own weight and the load of the traffic passing over them, distributing the weight evenly to the supports, which are usually pillars or abutments on either side. Bridges come in various types, including beam bridges, arch bridges, suspension bridges, and cable-stayed bridges, each with its unique design and engineering principles. They play a crucial role in transportation infrastructure, connecting communities and facilitating the movement of goods and people over otherwise impassable obstacles. Bridges are essential components of modern transportation networks, providing safe and efficient passage over water bodies, valleys, and other geographical features.

Ayub Bridge and Lansdowne Bridge are significant landmarks in Sukkur, Pakistan. The Ayub Bridge, named after President Ayub Khan, was inaugurated in 1962. It's a cantilever bridge that spans the Indus River and played a crucial role in connecting different regions of the country. The Lansdowne Bridge, built in 1889 during British rule, is an engineering marvel with its arched design and lattice trusses. It served as a railway bridge and now stands as a symbol of historical significance. Both bridges not only facilitate transportation but also hold historical and architectural importance in Sukkur's landscape.

Built in mere 2 years in 1989, over River Indus, with Sukkur city on its west Bank, Rohri on the right bank. Engineering grandeur of colossal scale accomplished during a colonial era.. With longest cantelivered rigid girders of the world during that time was designed by Alexander meadows. Good design with a central part for the traffic and two walkway, interesting for civil engineers. The rail road suspended bridge next to them is more recent. The design comparison is good. Excellent and historical bridge connecting Sukkur and Rohri cities by road as well as rail.
