DO NOT GO! I have never felt so unwelcome in a cafe in my life. My partner and I came in dressed professionally and were polite, yet we were not treated well. We came in at 2:45 pm and he told us there were closing at 4:00. We were fully aware they closed at 4:00 pm no problem. After 10 minutes of sitting on our laptops working, we realized they were already packing up the cafe to close and the WiFi went completely out. I went up to the man working to explain it had disappeared and stopped working completely. His response- “oh WiFi doesn’t work? It’s down then.” Said in a rude tone and no apology or anything to fix it for guests even though we were working on our laptops and still had an hour until close. He turned back to keep closing up his shop. We were very annoyed at this point with the rude behavior of the guy working, so we packed up and left. We are suspicious they turned the WiFi off to get us out of there quicker. As soon as we left he immediately swooped over to clean our table and shut all of the gates to close the cafe. Needless to say, we had a horrible experience and we will not be returning. Very disappointing cafe who doesn’t care about their clients.

Fresh beans! Very neat little place tucked away in a strip mall in Burquitlam across from sky train. The owner Lynn was so friendly and personable. Beans can easily be customized and personalized to your liking. She offered an air pressed coffee for me to try and it’s a different experience! Once you’ve tried you might not want to go back to your regular day to day coffee shops!

We got the dark and medium drip coffee. So full of flavour at a great price. Cozy place with nice owners and comfy seats. You can even have the chairs and table brought outside if you want to enjoy the fresh air. 5/5

Nice and cozy coffee shop. Service was fast and the staff were nice. The sign outside was big and easy to find. I had the caramel ginger spice latte. It was good but it was hard to taste the ginger. I also found it a bit too sweet for my liking.

Great tasting coffee, service and the Lemon Turmeric Chia muffin was loaded with flavour. Fresh roasted beans make all the difference. Thank you for the hospitality!

Is this place vegan? I decided to go here after hearing of all the world renown and "distinct" coffee beans they carry, but was shocked to find out that they only use soy or oat milk in their coffees! Although some people like this (I do enjoy non-dairy myself), I found the coffee to be extremely bitter and distorted as a result of the milk they used, and the barista was very nonchalant and cold about it. They also appear to have bizarre schedules; some days they are open, and some days they aren't!

They only sell coffee now, but it's very good coffee at a very good price. Keep in mind it is generally roasted the day you order it so let it rest a few days before you make coffee. It's worth the wait! I've had very quick deliveries so far.

This coffee shop is owned by a couple and hence gives a very cozy , British Columbia experience. The coffee beans at the shop is from many countries in the world, but if you are confused which one to get, just ask for some advice from them and they'll give you exactly what you need.

What kind of coffee house doesn't make coffee??? Showed up at noon to have a quick cup of regular old coffee. Was told they were out of coffee and would not make more. I felt there was some contention to even the thought of ordering coffee after noon, has the owner never travelled to other countries? I was told I could order an Americano and pay more for it which I did, thanks for the upsell. The Americano was nice but woefully unnecessary. Likely will not return here.

I had an iced americano. The flavour was unreal. Very powerful, never had anything like that before. Two thumbs up. For me, where it loses points is: its not a very welcoming environment. Big sign by the cashiers that there's a 60 min seating limit. No music of any sort. $5 minimum charge for using a credit card. Its just the little things.

Quite possibly the best small batch roaster in British Columbia. Grade A beans sourced ethically and roasted in a commercial Air Roaster machine delivering even roasts with good acidity. Put in your custom order now! I just had a medium Papua New Guinea which was so milk chocolatey as an espresso I was blown away.

I am professional athlete from Vancouver and have been getting my beans and coffee from Lynn and connected minds for close to 10 years now. And wouldn’t think to get them from anywhere else. I have had competitions across the world, and the first thing I do before I pack to leave is make sure I have fresh beans from Lynn. I’ve had connected minds coffee on 3 different continents and once I’m out.. Connected minds is my first stop before I head home. I kid you not.. there have been times where I have spent years abroad for sport and every morning I thought about how I couldn’t wait to get home to have “my” beans from Lynn. In my line of work you get to a certain tier of professionalism and competition where the margin of error for success and failure is very small. The demand and pressure to deliver success on you is high. So much so that even the slightest factors that can give you even a 0.01% edge over your competitor, you seek after to take advantage of. This can express itself through supplements, mental training, extra recovery etc.. When travelling on the road so much, for many professional athletes, a routine is something that helps them to develop consistency and gain an advantage. When you are living in a hotel week to week, there isn’t a lot that you can control. So familiarity can be calming. Coffee is unique in that it naturally has became a cornerstone in building routines for professional athletes all over sport- myself included. Connected minds and their coffee have been and will always be a pillar in my routine and my sports career. They have been with me from the beginning when I was just an amateur athlete and they have been by my side all the way to the professional level. If you are serious about coffee you need to be serious with yourself and get your beans from Connected minds. If you want to be your best, you have to give yourself the best, and connected minds are just that. The best. They are unmatched. - Plus they deliver ;)

Never thought North Road would have really good coffee. It's excellent. Friends tell me the baked stuff is very good too but I never buy muffins and stuff so I can't comment.

Ordered light roast Ethiopian specialty coffee beans. Order was delivered on time and had been roasted the same day. Took camping on the weekend and brewed nicely in our French press. Delicious coffee, lived up to my expectations. Will be ordering more from Connected Minds, thanks!

I was sad because Caritas closed. I went around looking for a new roaster. I have just tried the Espresso Carmoso (I think it's called.) Near perfect flavour. I would prefer to go darker. Surprisingly, that is an option. You can get custom batches. Strong work.

This is a tiny little obscure place in Burquitlam with a great coffee and great service. Relaxed atmosphere and tasty eats. It remained open for coffee pickup during this crazy time. If you want to support a small business, this is it. Also directly across from the SkyTrain.

Such a lovely gem in the neighbourhood. Solid staple menu with lots of variety but their handcrafted beverages is where they really shine IMO. Unique creations and their syrups are made in-house so the end product is truly something else!

The best coffee and the best people, live in connected Minds cafe. I never buy coffee anywhere else, and it's been over a year I am their faithful client. Not only you'll get a very high quality coffee, but also you will make friend with Lynn (the owner). I love this place and if you're getting your coffee from supermarkets and not them, you're missing out!

This café is another on of the little gems around Burquitlam. The coffee is leagues above other chain coffee spots, and the staff are friendly and quick to serve you. I don't usually stay to sit and drink my coffee here, but the place has a great "home-y" vibe inside that makes you relaxed. It's worth it to go out of your way to stop by here.

  • 2/5 Elizabeth N. 4 years ago on Google
The coffee was too acidic for my taste, the food was nothing special. We were hinted to leave after sitting just over an hour since there was a 60 minute sitting limit (but I didnt see a sign, or maybe I didnt look hard enough?)even though there were plenty of seats still available and no lineups.

You can buy the best cup of coffee in all of the tri cities here ( their drip coffee or pour over) for less than 3 $. The owners are sweet hearts and always kinds and accommodating. I highly recommend this cafe if you want good coffee.
