An adorable and thoughtful Cafe, gluten free market, and eco toy shop. The oat milk latte I had was delicious (note: no decaf option for lattes). We went upstairs to sit. There's a play place for kids with lovely toys and books and a whole toy shop up full of awesome Scandinavian wooden toys. The couches were cozy and the whole place is really beautifully put together.

I visited Spent for the first time because I saw they have a lot of local products that I was excited to check out. The selection is amazing and I was so impressed! However, I couldn’t help but notice how the owner (I’m assuming) was so enthusiastic helping the other customers and getting to know them but she was quite short with me and didn’t say anything except what my total was. She was eager to let a few (white) customers ahead of me to help them and chat with them before I was helped. I wasn’t sure if she personally knew them, but it was just an awkward experience to go through. Even when I was ready to checkout, I waited a few moments before she hesitantly helped me. As a person of colour, it’s difficult to ignore the way I’m treated differently than the white customers in the store. Although nothing explicit was said, it was quite disheartening to experience this and it left a bad taste in my mouth. I hope they become aware of this and look into anti-racist and/or implicit bias training for themselves. I was so excited to find a local business that supported other local Vancouver businesses, but I don't know if I will return based on my first experience.

Excellent coffee and donuts! Good selection of gluten-free and vegan products. Staff were very friendly. Not sure why anyone would wait in a lineup at Tims, when quality coffee is just as fast, and in my opinion way more flavorful! Will gladly return when in the area! ☕👌👍

New favourite bakery in the lower mainland!!! The ladies at the counter were lovely and the treats were better than I could have ever imagined- I am obsessed. If only it wasn’t a 50 minute drive from my home, I’d go every day.

I discovered spent grounds a few years ago and they carry a great selection of dietary food items. There freezer section is a great variety of choices of GF and vegan. I love their almond chocolate joy oats, best for cereal or just a snack on the go. Another favourite is their daily baked goods - lots of gluten free choices that taste really good.

Friendly owners and staff, a little bit of tasty morsel for all palates. I've happily and gratefully bought oat milk from here for years and will occasionally buy something sweet or savory. While I'm not even vegetarian, some of this vegan food is just so good!! In a heartbeat, I would choose these foods over anything with meat in it from time to time. Not much parking directly in front of the store front, which is handy if you're loading boxes of oat milk into your car, but Spent Grounds is surrounded by a large parking lot which always has space. Good hours of operation. Quite a variety of dry, frozen, shelf, and ready-to-eat Vegan foods, most of which I haven't had the chance to enjoy yet.

This is the best place to get vegan stuff. The owners are very friendly and we always have great laughs with them. The food is awesome, especially the DONUTS. What can I say except for YUMMY. If you haven't tried this place, I highly recommend you do!!!

I love this place, even though I don't have any dietary restrictions. Their pop tarts are so good and the service is always friendly. Their salted caramel slushie is also really tasty. Support this local business!

Spent is a hidden gem in the backwoods of South Surrey. Karen is an excellent owner and she keeps the store stocked with gourmet food, and it's all vegan! Who knew vegan could taste so good? And her coffee... She roasts it all in house and it is delicious!

  • 5/5 Darcy D. 2 years ago on Google
Came for a bag of espresso coffee for home. Left with that and THE BEST carrot cake EVER! And it’s gluten-free and vegan! Totally worth the extra few minutes to get there and will be back to curb the cravings! 🤪

Spent Grounds is so awesome! The space is well thought out and has many nooks to settle into with a delicious oat latte and baked goodie. The owners are the nicest folks and take the time to have a chat with all the regulars. I love the product selection which includes so many local products in one place that are difficult to find around the lower mainland. Love Spent Grounds so much!

Wow, what a gem. I’ve wanted to visit this place for awhile and I wasn’t disappointed. The owners were both lovely and very helpful. Lots of cool vegan options I hadn’t seen before. Tried my first oat milk latte with one of their stellar donuts, still thinking about it a week later!

Vegan (and gluten-free) dreams come true - and with DELIVERY! Amazing baked goods, great selection of grocery/pantry/household items, delicious drinks served up (and delivered) by friendly and super helpful people.

Had a great time with my family. The owners were very friendly, made conversation and were helpful. My daughter loved the play room upstairs and we wished we could have stayed longer.

  • 5/5 Thea M. 2 years ago on Google
Went in for the first time today and the baked goods were so amazing, I went right back a few hours later. I grabbed a handful of great vegan items that are hard to find unless you head downtown, and was surprised at the total (in a good way). The prices are actually very good for a smaller business, and the same items would have definitely cost more if I went to Vegan Supply. The ladies there were super friendly and easy-going. It's a great little place!

One of my favourite coffee shops and markets, hands down! The owners are friendly, attentive, knowledgeable, and make so many things in house from scratch. They specialize in vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, organic, and local products. I drove out of my way a few forms a month to load up on all the goodies.

  • 5/5 Laura H. 2 years ago on Google
This cafe has everything. Spent Grounds has a great selection of grocery items, a baby/kids store, and delicious food, baked goods, and drinks. Their Boston cream bun is my favourite. The owners are always so lovely too when I visit. I can't recommend Spent Grounds enough!

My favourite spot for a good coffee and yummy treats. They always have a huge selection of gluten free items. It’s always a pleasure going into the shop… the owners are lovely!

  • 5/5 Emma P. 2 years ago on Google
First time in the shop today. Wow! Beautiful! I annoyed (not actually) her with all my coffee requests, but she's not a coffee shop! We had some good laughs together. Very friendly and genuine service. Can't wait to go back!

  • 5/5 Maria H. 1 year ago on Google
Really great selection of vegan groceries and some specialty items. I loved spending time upstairs in the childrens play place. You have to spend $30 in store to use it for free, or pay $15 to rent it for an hour (something I wish I knew before I had gone there), but worth it!

Best place to buy coffee equipment outside of Vancouver. This side of the Fraser your not gonna find more a better selection of home brew equipment. Everything from Fellow to Kalita to Hario. This place is great, solid coffee and pastries too.

Cinnamon buns are absolutely amazing. If you’re looking for a good option for vegan and vegetarian that actually taste good, this is a place to be. Food is absolutely amazing.

  • 5/5 Dylan K. 1 year ago on Google
Fantastic coffee, great vegan/vegetarian/GF food and baked goods, relaxed vibe and next-level friendly people have vaulted Spent Grounds right to the top. An amazing local business that I couldn’t do without. AND - the best place to stop for a coffee when you’re out on your bike!

  • 5/5 Pinchinstar 1 year ago on Google
Just popped in on a whim and it is such a lovely shop! Locally made goodies, candles (including Tartan and Loom, love them) and toys. Coffee roasted on site and a wall of all the very good dog friends that have stopped by 😄

  • 5/5 Lisa C. 1 year ago on Google
So much more than a coffee roaster! Come here for a delicious, made-in-house pastry. Pair it with a coffee or check out their cooler for cold brew options. Shop the shelves and freezers for a variety of locally-sourced products that feature vegetarian and vegan offerings. Super-friendly owners too.

  • 5/5 Jessica F. 1 year ago on Google
This place is amazing. The people running it are so nice, and even if you haven't been there in a while they remember you. The food is good. AND THE DOUGHNUTS AND PASTRIES. Go there! Go early! Get them! They are an experience on their own. The best I have ever had. Call ahead and make sure they have them.

The best place for coffee and treats! I drive out of my way to get coffee from here. Always a friendly environment, with plenty of healthy food options to browse while waiting. I have found many meat/dairy alternatives here that I never seem to find in major grocery stores. Definitely recommend if you love great coffee!

The BEST place for coffee, vegan and GF treats!!! The service is always wonderful and you’re treated like family when you walk in. I also love that they support so many local bakers and other little businesses. They also have a great selection of frozen goods, chocolates/candies, fresh pressed juices and delicious baked goods. Its so nice to find a place that everyone can enjoy, even if you’re GF!!! Make sure to try their GF/Vegan Pop Tarts! They’re DELICIOUS!!! It’s definitely my favorite little coffee shop!! Highly recommend!!!

Appalled I didn't review this sooner! I absolutely love the staff (they're also the owners, thanks for everything!), They remember your name, and quite often your dietary restrictions. I come from Maple Ridge and they not only remember that but will often hold items for me in the freezer if I can't get there for the new exciting stuff. Love how much they support locally owned businesses, I've found a few of my favourites thanks to the Spent Grounds team ❤️

  • 5/5 Nicholas S. 3 years ago on Google

Decent selection of vegan products. Good coffee. Not so great service. The person who runs the store is rude. I much prefer the Vegan Supply store in South Surrey. They have way more selection and the ladies in the Vegan Supply store are polite and very friendly.

If you haven't discovered this gem of a shop (and it's amazing owners) where have you been?! Vegan grocery items and baked goods from many local lower mainland businesses and makers! Local supporting local! I'm not vegan, but there are so many great items that are just plain delicious, what's not to love? You don't need to be vegan to tasty plant based food. I get some of cleaning products here too, the scents are amazing they (almost) make me happy to clean During this whole covid-19 crisis, they've offered online shopping for pick-up (with protocols in place), as well as some local delivery. I will support this place until I either move away, or spend all my money shopping here

I love this little store with its plethora of vegan goodies. Since I am GF, I’m also loving the variety of gf/vegan treats they’re bringing in! You need a second location closer to Maple Ridge for me!!❤️❤️

  • 5/5 Byron F. 4 years ago on Google
This is a magical place. The sort of place you randomly find tucked away in an obscure location and know only two things can happen to it -- it can go bankrupt or it can get wildly popular and the quality can drop. The coffee is amazing. And it's cheap. It's passion and love in a cup. It's coffee as an art form; everything weighed out and made to an exacting perfection. The roasts are beautiful; the beans marvelously fresh. You will probably have the best cup of coffee you have ever had here. So, make this place crazy popular. Allow the wonderful lady who runs it to make it a roaring success and sell out to a big multinational. Let her become a relaxed multimillionaire -- because for bringing something this wonderful into the world -- that's what she deserves. Enjoy the astoundingly good coffee while you can and hope that it brings up the standards for the industry. 10/10. D***ed good coffee.

First time going to spent grounds today and was blown away with such friendly customer service. Very organized and respectful during this covid crises, felt at ease and well looked after. Now let’s talk treat, vegan treats. They brought in the most amazing pizza buns, plus a few other flavours that I haven’t tried yet. Their pop tarts are fun and delicious, and worth every bite. I’ll definitely be wanting to come visit again soon :)

Drove 30 mins to check it out. Asked for a something on the more acidic side and the lady snapped at me “why would you want that?!” Walked out. Shouldn’t have expected much from a roaster operating out of a strip mall in Langley.
