I have been a member of The Gym for over a year. I normally use the Whitefield branch in Manchester, which is very well-equipped, clean and spacious. I was very happy and felt motivated to visit regularly. On recently transferring my membership to Swansea due to a move, I am quite horrified at how poorly the Swansea branch compares to the one I was used to. The space is dangerously cramped, especially at peak times. Too much equipment cramped into a small space. Unless one is always vigilant, there's every risk of being injured by other careless users. The free weights area, in particular, is tiny for the number of people wanting to use it at any one time. One often has to wait before you can use any of the machines. The male toilet facilities are just dreadfully unhygienic - there are only two cubicles, which is wholly inadequate. Every time i've been into them, the toilets are unclean, water/urine/toilet paper on the floor. Gross! The hand detergent dispenser is ALWAYS empty. And it's clear that hardly any cleaners have visited the toilets in a considerable time. Just awful. Finally, the venue is wholly understaffed. I almost never see any staff members should I need to consult one, and this obviously poses serious health and safety risks. I wish I were able to return to my Whitefield branch! The Swansea branch is very poor in comparison and damages the brand substantially in my opinion.

A wonderful place to workout. Machines, free-weights and what not, the sky is the limit in your ambition to develop that perfect body. There are locker rooms - separate for men and women and toilets. There is of course a monthly membership subscription that varies city to city. Entry is regulated by the use of a PIN that is mailed once membership commences. All in all, it’s a great gym.

Well priced gym that's flexible and easy to use. The 24h time is great, and I would recommend avoiding it at peak times, such as when school kick out

Lovely city but strange Gym users. It's almost as if they own the gym group. Aggressive unfriendly people. The gym itself however is like any other gym group gym. It's a gym.

Been coming here with my friend for about a month now and it’s been great! I understand that if your training boxing or any martial art that you need to be supervised by a PT but I had a one of your staff come up to us with a disgusting attitude saying I’m not allowed to help my friend with training and how it’s unfair to the other Pt’s that work there and how we’ll be banned from training there, better yet I get an email that’s a warning about pin misuse when I have my own pin!!! So if you want to help your friend with technique and how to use the equipment DONT COME HERE!!

A sacrosanct beacon to peak physical conditioning. Crammed with modern machines and a selection of free weights it is equipped to help all gym novitiates achieve their goals.

Kit is good as usual but no care is taken for the place except superficially. I basically will not turn on the fans on the machines as they are full of dust none of the clocks tell the right time and there are fittings half hanging off the walls

Needs Heavier Dumbells and the single squat rack is such a bottleneck for the sheer number of people who use it. You need a second squat rack and 50KG dumbells.

I have visited this gym for a year, but one day I realised that they scam people. Their employees even know this, but they can't do anything because this scam comes from the top of company. For instance, you paid your monthly membership, meaning legally you have right to visit this gym for a month. Next day you want to cancel your membership for next month..bang! They cancel your entire membership. You paid your membership for this month, but you are not allowed to enter the gym studio. You are scammed. You are not alone brother. They do this to their all members.

First time back since the pandemic and I felt safe and comfortable. OK so the gym was only at 3% capacity, but all the equipment was clean and people obliged and cleaned each equipment after use.

Great gym, really good price but the only thing letting it down is the people who literally leave weights everywhere. Just full on laziness

  • 5/5 Rhys W. 2 years ago on Google
Good gym with enough equipment to train whatever you want. Check for busy times though otherwise you might be waiting on equipment especially on chest days as there is only one flat and incline bench. Staff are great and friendly.

It's ok. Great price! If your not too bothered about squeeky machines then this is the gym for you.

After a 4 Year hiatus, I rejoined the gym this year. It felt good to be back. Everything you need is right there and the staff are so friendly.

Great place for a gym. Lots of equipment for everyone and lots of places for people to do different things. Downside would be the fact that you need a code for the toilets which is very annoying. They don't have everything such as equipment for sledding and nordic benches. Overall, definitely recommend this gym!

The availability that the gym never closes and there alot of equipment from cardio machines multigyms and alot of free weights too choose from. Also BMI machines to keep on track of your body fat and body weight

Nice. Lots of equipment, easy access. I do not use lockers and bathrooms so I cannot comment on that. Place is reasonably clean but could be better

Right in the centre of town. Nice gym and equipment, always clean and everything looks new. Fairly priced - my membership is £14.99. I tend to go late at night as you can be waiting a while for certain equipment like the squat rack during peak times. The rope attachment was missing off the functional trainer for months but they’ve just replaced it. Haven’t seen the boxing bag up for ages either. But loads of cardio equipment and good weight machines, really helpful for beginners. You let yourself in by entering your code

I've been at this gym for almost a month, and the staff has always been really nice and helpful. There is always enough exercise machines for everyone to use, and the exercise equipment is always cleaned down.

Been a member last few months usually busy at daylight hours, I'm a night owl so always a huge benefit being 24/7 clean gym.

  • 2/5 Rain K. 1 year ago on Google
It's alright for exercise, but don't bring any valuables because they will get stolen, and the staff won't be able to do anything about it. Had 2 things stolen from me, and staff was clueless both times. EDIT: Just had a comment left by the "owner". Not too sure what is so "excellent" about having my things stolen...

Great gym. Invests in new equipment when we want more to play with. 🦵🏽 💪🏾 More so, the Staff are quality, helpful and welcoming - the very things you need to create the right environment physically & mentally 👌🏼

The PTs are friendly, the place is clean, (including the changing rooms and loos atm) and hours are very convenient. Sometimes can be difficult to get on equipment due to idiots just sitting, playing on their phones, so needs more proactive staff. There are free classes but they get booked up. I'm on a lifetime £10/month deal, so certainly can't complain about the value!

Great Gym in a central location, I've been training Tevin Jospeh (personal trainer) for a while and had great results. Tevin is knowlegble and helped me reach my goals.

Good size lots of equipment, somethings more dated than my local gym group but protein snacks and refreshments available and everything was in good working order. Bad for parking though and not being local struggled to find somewhere near by.

I haven’t been a great fan of Gym’s over the years, but since visiting the Gym Group and chatting to staff member Emily, she really got me back in to the Gym. The membership deals are great and the options for PAYG. I highly recommend paying a visit to this Gym.

  • 5/5 Chris W. 1 year ago on Google
Brilliant gym - the range of equipment for the price is really unbeatable. There are two weights sections which mean if you prefer a quieter area there is always one available. Cardio equipment has everything you’d need - also only gym I’ve found in Swansea with both Adductor and Abductor machines! Staff are absolutely cracking. Incredibly helpful and friendly, great amount of knowledge, classes are fun and engaging and as it is 24 hours there is always a time that suits. Also, even in the middle of the night it’s clean, safe and friendly!

  • 4/5 Shree D. 4 years ago on Google
Great gym, with wonderful trainers and a lot of machines that are easily accessible. The toilets and changing rooms however need a bit more work as the women toilets don't often work and the door doesn't lock, reducing security of belongings

A really nice place to get to grips with using a gym. Im a newbie and was a little nervous but staff made me feel comfortable and took time to explain all the equipment and techniques

  • 5/5 Jon W. 5 years ago on Google
The gym is loaded with equipment that all looks brand new, clean and well positioned in the gym. The staff go above and beyond to help any member which makes me feel more comfortable in the gym. I find the classes really helpful when I am not motivated to work out.

The Gym Swansea has everything you need to get started, and it is an excellent value for money. A tremendous squat rack and deadlifting platform, reasonable amounts of benches and dumbbells, and some machines feel fantastic. However, if you want to take your training more seriously (I.e. you have been training consistently for >3-5 years) and are looking to compete, then search for another gym.

Went there today and pressed for assistance 3 times, waited 10 minutes for info on signing up and a tour. I understand places are busy with limited staff right now but no one came in 10 minutes. Not even a please bare with me I’ll be ..... mins. Safe to say I won’t be going back.

There was a lot of equipment to choose from, and it was all very modern and fairly easy to use. but sadly there wasn't much choice of free weights or any boxing equipment. And it is a little bit annoying to have to use your gym code to exit the building. But I did enjoy and the atmosphere was quite motivating

Good equipment, just way too crowded, even outside peak times you have to wait for stuff

  • 3/5 Miriah W. 4 years ago on Google
It's basic, which reflects the price. No staff that are on hand to help any newbies, a lot of machines are down on a regular basis, everything is sold at high prices (like locks, water etc, ans that's if the machines are working). It's meh. If you know what you're doing then this will be good for you. For someone starting our, who can't pay 30+ an hour for a personal trainer maybe gave a little look elsewhere

A pretty good gym that can basically meet your fitness needs. The only regret is that there are too many people who are new to the gym. Apparently they don’t know that putting things back is the first lesson they need to learn in the gym.

It was my first ever proper time at any gym ever, and I decided to do a free class (Legs, bums and tums) with an amazing trainer Carl, he was so sweet and reassuring and just helpful and welcoming. Honestly I’d really suggest going. Side note. One of my favourite features of the app is the fact you can see how many people are in the gym ima see you don’t want to go in while it’s busy 😱😍 amazing. 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Decent range of equipment and useful that it's 24 hours. There are some issues however. The weights are often left lying in random places and weight selection isn't great.

Paid for two day passes and neither of them worked, ended up waiting an hour and a half before going home disappointed due to wasting time and loss of £16. No help available to solve this issue. Not happy terrible service

🫤 Equipments and machines need TLC, maintenance, or replacement. I've nearly injured my lower back on hyper extension machine, because the machine isn't levelled, which applied more pressure on one side than the other side. Had to recover for a week from that, and that's not all, most machines are RUS...

😠 They do not even deserve a 1 star. I joined based on a promotional offer that they had (50% off joining fee and £50 voucher to spend in the restaurant) - it was false advertisement.
