The Natural History Museum in fribourg is free of charge to enter. If you‘re near fribourg i highly recommend checking out this museum. The hold a lot of extinct replicas of animals and reptiles. They even have the only real skin conserved whale in europe which is 150 years old. Many precious pieces of our living world to look at. I would visit again!

Free museum located within the university grounds. The museum is on the first floor of the building, and has a fairly large range of exhibits, with a few of them alive. There are about 12 rooms in total, each with its own theme. Within each exhibit there are information panels in both French and German (but unfortunately no English), and some exhibits are also interactive. There is a small (temporary?) exhibition on the second floor as well. Overall a nice place if you’re in the area, but do note that it’s about a 20 minute walk from the station.

Great museum with history of species and earth. Lot to learn and it s for free. Probably once they will renovate it, will be a five star.

In the heart of a bustling city's embrace, Stands a haven of knowledge, a sacred space, Where time stands still and stories unfold, A treasure trove of wonders, untold. Welcome to the natural history museum, A sanctuary of nature's rhythm, Where ancient relics and fossils reside, Preserving the secrets that time cannot hide. As you step through the grand entrance door, A world of marvels lies in store. The air is filled with whispers of the past, Echoes of creatures that couldn't last. Amazing place, my children are super excited! Sounds, calm music, stories that are alive!!!

I've been to many natural history museums in different countries and this museum is the best: not too large or small, not too much to read (to overwhelm you) and it is free! The best thing though: this museum is clearly very well-planned and build. The exhibitions are 5/5!

An ideal place to spend an afternoon with children. I visit this museum frequently, perhaps 6-7 times a year to either see the permanent exhibition or the temporary ones. My children (8 and 6 years) have visited it so often, they know it almost by heart. The introduction of new technologies in providing additional context are very simple but very educational. I am particularly found of using the sound reproduction tools in the section dedicated to birds. The visits have enabled me to better know the wildlife in the region of Fribourg where I live, especially the birds of pray. There is also an iPhone app that provides additional content and it can bee downloaded for free.

(Admission is free) Though smaller than most it is very in depth with what it does offer with a more in depth focus on birds more than anything else, with the botanical gardens right next door it really does make for a lovely day out. Certainly worth a visit for a day out! I did enjoy it!

It's a bit messy and hard to follow the flow, but it is a good museum

This museum is inside the building of the University of Fribourg. It is quite big, bigger than I expected and has a great variety of animals. The more interesting parts are the ones that explain the history of the territory and the fauna you can found nowadays in it. It is also suitable for children, with a part especially made for them.

There's no way you cant miss this. It's free and it has a great variety of animals and expositions. If you have kids it's a must go. Regularly, in fact. Seriously, bravo to everyone maintaining and contributing this place.

There was a lot more inside than what I was expecting and turned a potentially miserable rainy afternoon into a little adventure

Super fun to be here! Very informative and enjoyable to the kids! Feast their eyes and imagination. Saturday was a bit crowded but still bearable. Will definitely go back. Oh, there's a free popcorn waiting outside the building too :)
