The food here really wasn’t nice. It all looked good but the BBQ chicken wings in particular were so bad I only ate three of them. My partner tried one as well as I was leaving so many of them and they couldn’t handle it. They tasted really bad. It was also much more expensive than you’d expect (especially the drinks – more expensive than the city centre pubs for an orchard thieves!), and the menu they have on their website wasn’t accurate with the food selection and the prices being different. You can’t drive here as they have no parking. All the parking belongs to the Centra next door, and they have signs up saying they’ll clamp you if you stay there for more than half an hour. The interior looks great, the staff were fantastic but the food is woeful.

Great atmosphere, nice looking and friendly Irish staffs. Food is good and pints is cold as it should be. Unfortunately it closes early, around 9pm and there is no other cool place like this around the area.

Absolute joke of a place. The staff haven’t a clue what is going on. Ordering a drink took between 20-30 minutes but most times the drink never came even when the staff were asked multiple times. Even when the drinks were brought they were wrong. Will never be back again

Had the striplion steak with all the trimmings, it was so tasty and well presented. Our waiter Max was so attentive and helpful. We will definitely be returning.

Food was excellent ,staff are very polite

Waited 35min for the food before asking the waitress. She said less than 5min and we’d get it. It was another 10min wait (a total of 45min). Otherwise, the food was good, so it is a pity the wait brought down our rating.

Wings are processed and filled with water. Pints are warm.. table service is so slow and they give u a high table while eating back is nearly broke. 1 star 100% not recommended

Lovely pub, staff are really nice. Food was nice, burger was lovely but the chips aren't great. Kids menu for €7 for a meal but again the chips wherent great which resulted in most them not been ate as they where for a young child and they where very bitty.

Drinks were grand but by god me 94 year old grand mother could whip up better grub ,the prices are mental for what your given I’m sorry but not sorry if your gunna serve that food atleast charge less money

Was staying at the Bonnington Hotel on Saturday as we were going to the Ed Sheeran concert in Croke Park. The hotel had booked a table for us in McGettigans for 4.30 pm. We arrived and after some faffing about we were shown to our table and placed our food order at 4.45pm. A few minutes later we were told that there would be a delay of 15 minutes before our order could be put through to the kitchen, which was fine with us. However, it took about 25 minutes to get our drinks order and our starter eventually arrived almost an hour after we ordered it. There were only 3 bar staff and 4 waiting staff working, all of whom seemed under pressure, and the place was not full by any means. By 6.45, 2 hours after we placed our food order, we had no choice but to leave. Other people around us were doing likewise. Badly understaffed and certainly wasn't an "A Team".

Worst experience in my life . The Manager Joe was so unprofessional rude and ignorant. The delay on food and drinks was bad enough but Joe just topped it off with his horrible demeanour when we were looking for service. I was here one month ago with another Manager on and the service food drinks was amazing but sadly will not be returning because of Joe.

Booked a table for 6pm for two people. We were shown to our table straight away and the new rules regarding ordering were explained to us. Our order was taken fairly sharpish as it was very quite. We both had the bacon and cheese burger which was very tasty however the chips left alot to be desired. They are double fried but were very hard, as it was very early in the night they should have been a lot fresher. Everybody was very consious of the restrictions and social distancing was very evident. There were alot of people arriving in from the hotel for food while we were there and the staff said they had alot of bookings for later on in the night. Overall it was a pleasant evening and we will be going back

Heard very good reviews about this place so when i was passing yesterday i decided to pop in very nice interior , bright clean fresh, and the bathroom was exceptional as well . The pint of Heineken was top notch , great choice on draft , and loads of craft beers , spirits , wine and extensive cocktail menu to . The food we ordered was delicious great portions and piping hot and extremely reasonable. The ladies that served us were really friendly and so polite would definitely recommend McGettigans will be back very soon

Had a lovely meal in McGettigans last night. Food was top notch. I had the veggie burger which was delicious. My sister had the steak and loved it. Staff were really lovely. Manager Karl checked in on us a few times. Waiting staff were friendly and attentive. Couldn't have rated it higher. We were very impressed

In disbelieve over how stale and bland the burger and chips was, I would have been disgusted getting this in a local pub paying local pub prices but for the price they’re charging here I’d expect at least something semi decent. Food must have been rotting on the shelf for the whole pandemic. Terrible.

Great food & music. Not to packed either

From start to end they got our order wrong first my wine ordered red was brought white, then totally forgot my food both starter and main, and didn’t question why only my husband was eating. the servers don’t appear to know what there doing tried to order dessert could not get a waitress to our table so I had to go to find them, the Manager was very apologetic and gave us a discount but the experience was not at all good the pork was very dry hard and unable to eat.

While concert night is lotto night, this place should learn about repeat business. Appalling & sloppy service, restricted menu & filthy toilets, I won't be going back and strongly recommend you don't either.

Was there last night with a group of 4. We all agree we will never go back. One of the party asked for a bottle of sauv.blanc the bar man said it was 38 euro but when questioned about it miraculously he realised it was 30 Euro. I subsequently asked for a wine list he said he didn't have one and asked what was my preference I said pinot and he took a half empty bottle from under the counter and showed it too me, I asked had he anything else he said no!! Later one of the group got a g&t it came in a smallish wine glass with barley enough room for the tonic. I asked could we have a gin glass and he said they had none (as the lounge was practically empty it was hardly because they were all in use). To say I am surprised that a bar connected to a hotel did not have a choice of wines or list with price's was to say the least strange and no gin glasses? He didn't even offer a different type of glass that might accomodate the gin. As there are so many bars in the area I would recommend you avoid this one at all costs

Great decor inside and lots of screens to watch sports on but that's about as good as it gets. Waiting staff did well enough later in the night but didn't clear any tables of empty glass or plates and were none existent at the beginning of the night (7pm) much like the bar staff who really let the place down, very slow service, we really got the feeling that they just didn't want to be there, which you could see from one bartender who kept leaving the bar but the worst part came at the end of the night when what we could only assume was the a head bartender (as we hadn't seen this staff member for the entirety of the night) came over to us and said 'get out, I want to go home' we're closing now, there was no flashing of the lights for last orders, just go, not professional at all.

Went on Sunday 01/01/23 and was there just shy of an hour and noone came to ask for our order . I had to go and look for someone. Also when I was at the bar I was blatantly ignored. The guy behind it was ignorant and seeing me standing there at numerous occasions and just walked away and was talking to he's colleagues. I had ordered the the duck wings and chips and the wings tasted nothing like duck . They wore so dry and tasteless. Chips wore so greasy . One of my family members had ordered pork belly which was also sent back . Staff wore 90% ignorant except for one staff member who couldn't apologise enough. I never got her name . We all said we should have stayed home

Two things we didn’t like about this place: how menu prices were higher than the ones on their website, and how unnecessarily noisy and loud the place was. This is nearly a nightclub, not a place to go and enjoy a steak over a conversation. Apart from that, food and service were quite good.

Visited mcgettigans tonight. When we arrived we found our own seats and went up to the bar for a drink a pint of Guinness and a rum and coke came to just under €20. We had originally gone for food but noticed pretty quickly that we were being ignored by the waitress on duty. We had 2 drinks while we were there and seen waitresses checking on all tables greeting people and brining menus over. But we continued to be totally ignored. Left with out ordering any food and won’t be back

We stayed there Stephens night it was worst experience ever! Manager was so rude for starters! Food came out my bfs chicken burger was raw! The inside was like jelly not cooked at all. Told the manager he took it back. Didn’t apologise and offer us a free drink or give my bfs meal for free! When his chicken burger came out again he said if I was you I would cut into that burger to make sure it is cooked, and still had the cheek to all that meal to our bill even when the food came out not cooked! Terrible service of that manager that day! Wouldn’t return because of him! Staff are nice and friendly!

An amazing experience been here twice , first time was here with in laws that stayed in hotel on 31st of July service was brilliant our waitress was amazing . Chatty, attentive and over all superb unfortunately couldn't get her name. Second time I booked table quite late as we changed plans , Stephen and Connor sorted us out on 5th of August with table for 4. Waitress that looked after us first time was looking after us, I was very happy about that. I order gin and what surprised me was that she remembered my order from last time which was Hendricks gin, it's very busy environment but she remembered us☺️. Food was delicious and portions were big and defiantly worth money. All staff were wearing masks which was very nice as other places we visited didn't. Definitely will recommend everyone I know . Our waitress had long blond hair she wore in ponytail , quite tall and had tan. I'm very sorry that I didn't get your name but we definitely will be back . Ps As person who works in the industry its amazing and refreshing to see service like this it honestly hidden gem. The only thing I would say they probably will need to get more staff as place is booming 😂

First time in this place went in Sunday afternoon not to many people so easily got a seat a good few TVs scattered around the place and a big screen for the really big matches ie rugby a good selection of draught beers but unfortunately no Budweiser on draught they also do cocktails and obviously serve food as well did not order this time but will next i vist as the portions I seen seemed a decent size apparently they get a great crowd on a Saturday night and as they seve food they probably do a good trade during the week place was clean as was the toilets

Booked a table for this evening 03/07/20 for myself, hubbie and 13 year old son. Not sure what to expect but the whole experience was fantastic. We eat here a lot anyway but this was 1st time since reopening. Very impressed with how well they have everything set up during these difficult times. We'll done and we'll be back soon
