First the website states that there is breakfast included and when we got there we were told that "it used to be but now is not anymore". Then why don't you change that on your website? Second the bathtub was backing up dirt (just disgusting). The room does not look anything like the pictures on the website. It looks old and outdated with ratty furniture. The towels were brown in color (not white like any other hotels) and it made you wonder if they were actually properly washed and disinfected. I'm surprised that the sheets were clean. There was an old couch but not a single chair to sit. For what we paid was a total disappointment. There are much better hotels out there for the price you pay at this hotel.

Floor was covered in water due to AC both mornings but AC had to be on for ventilation. Slipped on the floor and fell in the water the first morning. Front desk didn't offer a discount on room situation or offer a different room. TV either didn't connect to receiver or when it did it was scrambled and distorted so no TV. I have pictures of the wet floors but there is no where to upload them on here.

Not a safe place to stay. I am a senior & was constantly harassed by noisy tenants next to my room & a few staff. One Hearthstone staff member said (we are going to bug you every single day as long as you are here). Had to chase down an older staff lady for the one linen change while staying at the hotel. Room was never vacuumed during my stay. Two staff members were constantly in my face. Sydney police seemed to be there every other day. During my stay in the Hearthstone Inn they basically followed a two month timeline of harassment & intimidation tactics forcing me into homelessness. The exterior siding is so rotten it is literally falling off the walls. The ac unit in my room was ancient & usually had a small puddle of water near it. My room had a constant musty odor to it. The room looked as if it was painted by someone blindfolded. Had to jiggle the handle on the toilet to stop it from running. The place is in terrible shape & in desperate need of some renovations.

We liked that the room was clean and the beds were comfortable. We were very disappointed, however, as the reason we booked with them was for the pool. The pool was disgusting!!! It was filthy!! There were hairs and dirt floating and you couldn't even see the bottom. The water was thick, cloudy, and discolored. Gross!!! What a huge disappointment

Terrible service. Front desk girl was very rude and ignorant. Judged as soon as we walked through the door and didn’t even want to take the time to speak to us. We left and we will not be back.

Stayed here during October 2022 for 6 days. Charged me 140.40 dollars per day and absolutely no housekeeping provided for all these days. I asked them and got strange answer that they won't provide housekeeping if you stay for 6 days. Also, breakfast or any food was not included. Cloth washing facility is chargeable too and of no use. It's horrible. No waste collection also. Had to beg for supplies everytime. Was a horrible experience. Never again. Not recommended.

Recommended to us by a bigger hotel with no availability. Rooms are clean and quiet. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Cheaper than the big name chain hotels yet just as comfortable. The attached restaurant has delicious food. No breakfast included though but decent prices. I would book there again.

It was nicer than I expected. It's a relatively small hotel with character. The decor was nice, room was nice, good sized bathtub and plenty of hot water. The pool was decent, and has an attached sauna. Not the nicest hotel I've ever stayed in, but for the price, I was very pleased.

My second time at this hotel and both times were great experiences! Compared to some other places I’ve stayed in sydney, I’ll be staying here from now on. Staff really kind, I love the antique feel to the decor, clean rooms. I’ve had a great stay both times. I think some of the other reviews are unfair, and maybe those people should see some other hotels on the island because in my opinion, this is one of the best you’ll stay at.
