One of my favorite things I did at the Lake. Jumping off the platform into the water is the draw here, and it's a huge rush. The water is super nice, very clear. Jumping with a volcano in the background is amazing. I wouldn't miss this

Beautiful park that costs 20Q for foreigners (15Q for locals). There are some trails taking you up to lookouts with breathtaking views and others along the lake where you can find a spot to swim. There are clean bathrooms and changing rooms. Worth a visit and you could even plan to hang out for the day. The ticket allows for same day re-entry.

Bring some snacks, water, and a blanket and prepare to stay for the day. It feels like the best place to swim as there isn’t any immediate runoff anywhere. There are multiple jump off points so if you don’t want to risk the trampoline it’s ok. Just a heads up- the reserve closes around 4 so don’t get stuck locked inside. (Like we did 😳)

Sometimes San Marcos makes you want to jump off a cliff. This is where you can do it over and over, to your hearts content. Great spot for swimming. There is a braaiplace and kayaks, too.

Beautiful nature reserve with several trails, a mirador and a couple of platforms with benches. There’s also a bench right by the water, if you’re looking for solitude. Most people seem to go for the “trampolin” which is a platform you can jump into the lake from (7 meters/ about 22 feet high) but if you continue to walk the trail behind the platform, you’ll get to a spot where you can go into the lake without having to jump. If you do jump from the platform, there are well-maintained stairs to get back up. To make the most of the 20 quetzales admission fee, pack your bathing suit, a towel, water, a snack, maybe a book, definitely your camera, and stay for as long as possible. I’d recommend going in the morning when the lake isn’t as choppy yet and it’s nicer for swimming.

My family and I love this place, very inexpensive to enter and the cliff to jump off is super fun but a little scary. Kayaks are $2 per person to rent. Short little hikes beautiful views.

Wonderful place to sit and relax for a few hours. Bring your bathing suit and some snacks, jump from the platform (just don't look down before) and enjoy the amazing view of the lake.

Lovely spot close to San Marcos. Cheap to enter, and with some lovely swimming spots and a fantastic (if not slightly terrifying) 12m jumping board — definitely worth a try for adrenaline junkies, although be warned about water in your ears! Good spot for a few hours!

Beautifully kept trails both up the hill and down along the lake. I had the best dip surrounded by blue dragonflies. Easy access to the water in multiple spots, including an 8m trampoline! Very popular place for families, couples and groups, although there are plenty of beautiful spots so you can always find a quiet place for yourself! A must if you are in San Marcos.

The best water play place in San Marcos. If you go on a weekday morning, it is very quiet and there are no people. A good place to sunbathe and swim quietly while looking at the lake.

Beautiful spot to explore and spend time in the sun. The water is super refreshing! Obviously the jump was the highlight. Only annoying thing was that midday it's super crowded (when sun is at its peak) and there aren't many spots to sit. Additionally, the park closes at 4:00pm and they start kicking people out 20 min before.

My daughter Tejana took her some of her wedding pictures at the reserve - full white gown with long train. The reserve is one of many beautiful backdrops in San Marcos...just take a few extra hands to lift the dress up and down. Frances in Austin, Texas

The Cerro Tzankujil Nature Reserve is a beautiful and peaceful nature reserve located a short 5 minute walk outside of San Marcos along the shoreline of Lake Atitlan. For the entrance fee of Q15, you have access to entire reserve for the day. There are a network of beautiful hiking trails through the trees and along the lakefront. There were some look out areas with incredible views of the lake and volcanoes. There is a popular wooden platform built on the edge of a steep cliffside which is called “the trampoline” where you can jump into the lake and go swimming. I chickened our and didn’t jump or swim but enjoyed watching others do so! There were also a few other areas around the base of the platform where you can access the lake easier and just go for a swim off the rocks. You can also rent kayaks there. I spent a few hours there during an afternoon in San Marcos and had a lovely time. I loved the serene atmosphere, hiking the trails and being among the beautiful nature. This is a gorgeous place to spend some time relaxing, hiking, or swimming in San Marcos. Review based on my experience from November 2016.

Great experience! I loved jumping off the platform and swimming. It was a little hard to get out of the water so just be ready for a little climb. *Only one bathroom!* If you can try to use the bathroom and change into your swim wear before you go.

Gorgeous!!! Highly recommend visiting this spot, it’s such a nice walk and the nature is wonderful. As far as the cliff jump goes — if you get nervous, i recommend running a 2-4 steps before jumping off the platform. Standing at the edge and *staring* at the vertical drop will not ease your anxiety.

Cerro Tzankujil is a lovely spot to relax to enjoy Lake Atitlán. It costs only 20Q to enter. I would recommend talking a walk around the reserve before picking a spot to swim. You can also jump off the 13m platform.

It's not only about nature and great views, it's as well about having the guts to jump from an eight meter platform and landing in the right way! Lots of fun with your friends cheering you up to jump or making fun of you if you don't dare to. So you better come prepared or face the consequences!

It's one of my favorite places on Lake Atitlan. Amazing, picturesque jumping spot and easy to maneuver waters and exit. Perfect height for experienced cliff jumpers and beginners alike. Entrance for 20Q per person, which is great value for the experience. Viewpoints were a short hike, easily accessible and beautiful, but we spent most of our time swimming and jumping.

  • 5/5 Olivia C. 1 year ago on Google
A nice area to spend the day relaxing. there is an option to hike a little and see some miradors with beautiful views. However, the highlight is definitely the big jump into lake. A must do if you're and adrenaline junkie and visiting lake Atitlan.

Beautiful place to swim. There are smaller rocks you can safely jump off instead of the big high platform

  • 5/5 Chloe B. 2 months ago on Google • 10 reviews New
We had a great day at the nature reserve, we got the boat from San Pedro to San Marco for Q30 return each. Entry to the reserve was Q20 each, you can enter the water without jumping in, the 12 meter platform is not for everyone some people hurt themselves when jumping from it, there are other rocks to jump off at lower heights. Bring snacks for a great day out

(Translated by Google) Reserve protected. National Q10 (I do not remember the price for foreigners), 7 minutes from the main pier of San Marcos La Laguna. Moderate level of effort, quiet type, family atmosphere. Possibility to take a dip in the lake, or use it for hiking and a series of viewpoints towards the lake and the volcanoes, see how the locals fish or the boats move. The cleanliness of the place is admirable. Arriving in front of the viewpoint of San Juan la Laguna is a diving board for diving, it really looks amazing to be taken advantage of by the brave. The friendly locals. The very well signposted path, between landscape with trees and flora, has two routes and chairs for resting, to listen to the birds. I loved the place, worthy of the best instagram photos. I would go back and enjoy life and take courage to jump off the trampoline. Fantastic really, recommended. (Original) Reserva protegida.
