After 30 years travelling the world without incidents, I was robbed by SurfMaroc. It was a super plan! The plan to go back to Marroc, stay in Taghazout and surf Anchor Point…. 25 years after my first visit. Unfortunately, last week, the week I was supposed to fly to Agadir, local authorities suspended all international flights for 2 weeks due to Covid pandemic. As I could not fly to the destination, Royal Air Maroc refunded the cost of the flight, but…. surprisingly SurfMaroc has a different understanding and they will charge me for the room and transfers! Here’s how SurfMarroc defines “exceptional customer service and great value” for customers: “we are open and operating at the destination as normal” “the fact you are not able to travel into the country is exception but does not fall under the booked responsibilities of Surf Maroc” “I’m sorry to inform you that as per the terms and conditions of booking there is no due reimbursement” “Unfortunately we are not in a position to absorb losses, especially as we have been over the last 18 months” I am sorry to say but SurfMarroc suffers from a different sickness that is not Covid related – it is called greed! Because of such abusive and outrageous behaviour, I recommend everybody visiting Maroc NOT TO STAY at any SurfMaroc location.

It's a beautiful place with an amazing view. I enjoyed spending time there. I would say it's too expensive to have a bad service. The staff are friendly but their service was very slow. My friend had to go look for the waiter as we waited for soooo long, seeing that there were only few tables surrounding us.

With traveling being such a pain these days, Tom the reservation manager has been really great to us. He has been very responsive and worked with us. It was a big trip because I and my girlfriend had just gotten engaged, Tom went out of his way to make sure everything was perfect. We are so pleased with Tom we are going to return for our honeymoon. I have managed a surf camp similar to this Surf Marco, I was very pleased and learned some new hospitality skills myself. Thanks for everything Tom!

Amouage is an incredible experience. Everything is made for you to spend a quality time. The location is perfect at the end of Taghazout village, facing the world class wave Anchor Point. If you are a surfer, it’s a dream. Accommodations, food and service are excellent, and the staff super helpful and friendly, they’ll do everything for you to have the best time ever. Knowing SurfMaroc from a long time, it’s incredible how they succeed to keep their original spirit, and place it in that jewel which is Amouage. We stayed in the Tagahzout villa with surf Maroc but frequented Amouage for yoga, cocktails, snacks and dinner. It really is a very nice location but the staff make it. Super friendly, excellent service. If you don't choose to stay there at least visit for the Thursday night BBQ and/or some cocktails. You will be made to feel very welcome.

Amazing place! We just came to watch the sunset and have nice dinner .The views are amazing, the staff is friendly and the food were delicious (pasta). I would definitely recommend this place!

Recently dined at Amouage and I was thoroughly impressed, not just with the food and ambiance, but particularly with the service provided by one of their waiters, Ayoub. His attention to detail, friendly demeanor, and exceptional service truly made our dining experience memorable. Ayoub's professionalism and kindness are commendable; he went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed, always with a smile! Thank you ayoub!! The restaurant's atmosphere and cuisine are fantastic, but it was Ayoub's outstanding service that will bring us back. Highly recommend dining here if you're looking for a place where the staff genuinely cares about your experience.

I recently had one of the best stays i ever had at Amouage in Taghazout. The staff was outstanding, the hotel design was stunning, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was undoubtably the best part. I'm tempted to keep this gem a secret, but I can't resist sharing my amazing experience. I will definitely be returning!

Wonderful hotel with amazing service and best views, pleasant stuff, amazing tasty ice cream on the bar. Rooms are beautiful, contemporary art everywhere, you can play pool late night and still have drinks, they are also doing nice BBQ parties. From minuses - DJ invited to the party was playing super bad pop music, on the other time music of the hotel (which is always on) is very nice and selective. Food is also super basic, nothing is special, half of the dishes are super simple with no seasonings. You kind of expect a little more from food. Usually we don't go back for a second time to the same hotel, but we went back to Amouage within 2 months. This place is absolutely amazing! The hotel is beautiful, the location is great (quiet and overlooking the ocean), the food is delicious and the staff is fantastic. There is a peaceful and open atmosphere and you can ask the staff anything. Nothing is too much, they will always help you with a smile. The surf coaches are the best! They really help you improve your surfing skills. The first time we went to Amouage we had Mahmout as a coach for the full 2 weeks. He was assisted by Mehdi and Ismael for a couple of days. The second time we had Lokmane for the full week, and one day he was assisted by Brahim. All of them are excellent coaches and they will make sure that you have a good time on the water. We can geniunely say that these guys made our surf holiday an unforgettable experience. The staff at the bar are such nice guys! Khalil, Hassan, Ayoub and all the other guys are always there to help you. They make the best drinks and food for you (the Maroccan Classic smoothie is highly recommended) and they are always in for a little chat. And then the personnel at the reception. What a lovely people! Oulaya is always smiling and she really makes you feel like home. The other guys are so friendly and they will help you with all of your questions, no matter how many questions we had. Everyone will do their upmost best to make sure you have a good time. But we really want to thank Imane and Youssra the most. You guys really made our holiday special and we are so grateful for that! Amazing week with amazing people. Everything is wonderful here, superbly organized. The surf lessons are great, you progress quickly. A HUGE thank to Gouglou, it's the best teacher that you can have! We were a great team, a happy team with the best teacher : good vibes only . I will definitely come back!

Amazing venue! The staff were SO nice, especially Imad, who made the most amazing cocktails with so much love! Beautiful views, really chilled atmosphere. Great food and beautiful infinity pool.

I had the most wonderful stay at Surf Maroc's Amoauge hotel. The concept, the friendly staff memebers and the people are reason enough to come back. When I arrived I had booked a Surf package that I couldn't keep up with but luckily the manager Said Jerrari was understanding and agreed to rearrange my stay in ways that were more comfortable for me. If I have any recommendations for the visitors it would be: - Start by booking separate courses then upgrade to packages. It allows you to assess your experience and decide accordingly. - Opt for seaview rooms as mountain view rooms have poorer noise cancellation and you might wake up a lot to the sounds of traffic if you are a light sleeper like me. Special shoutout to Oumaima, Imane, Said, Imad and the two Simos and Said. Thank you all for the amazing hospitality and friendliness during my stay.

We had a wonderful week at Amouage. The mountain room is basic, but has almost everything you need, except for AC. However, they can give you a fan if you want. We had room only but booked surf and yoga lessons at the reception separately which were both very great. Said was a good surf instructor and gave us useful tips. Furthermore, the hotel was really clean and has nice decorations. The atmosphere and vibe were both very relaxed. You can do your own thing but it’s also easy to connect with other guests. The infinity pool is amazing with a breathtaking view during sunset. Breakfast has everything you need. Also dinner was quite good and the waiters at the restaurant and bar were really friendly and made our stay extra wonderful (shoutout to Ayoub). Make sure you be there on Thursday because they have a BBQ night with a party. We felt very safe during our whole stay (thanks to you Momo ;)) Looking forward to come back next year! Taghazout is a very cute but small village. There are a lot of restaurants, unfortunately during our stay at the end of the Ramadan many were closed. The only thing to improve in our opinion are the mattresses, because they were a bit too hard.

The sunset view is fantastic, but I wouldn't recommend dining here. It's not a go-to spot, unless perhaps during their BBQ event, which I haven't attended. During our visit for sunset drinks, we were taken aback by the service. Whether seeking recommendations, ordering a drink, or food, the staff lacked friendliness and didn't display good customer service—no smiles whatsoever. Having spent a week in Morocco, this was the poorest service we encountered, and honestly, you don't feel welcomed or respected as a customer. It gives more of a bougie cash machine hotel vibe than a proper boutique hotel. There are improvements needed before it reaches that status.

We went there to see the sunset after a friend recommended it to us. The view is amazing, the food was ok (although extremely salty), but what really made the experience less than palatable was the service. Not one smile, barely an “ok” when we ordered the food. We asked for an extra guacamole literally one minute after asking for the main course because the waiter left half way through our order and they told us : since you ordered the main first, the guacamole will come afterwards (it’s a guacamole ffs…). Plenty other spots with the same view around. Hôtel might be worth it, dunno. Edit : 500drh for two juices and two noodles :’)

Amouage is a wonderful place. You feel at home as soon as you arrive. Attention to every detail, the infinity pool overlooking the sea is so beautiful that it leaves you breathless. The food is excellent and the staff from the girls at reception to the guys working in the bar, everyone is so nice. In particular Hasan who works at the bar is so kind and attentive that he makes you feel like family, he always has a smile to greet you with every time he sees you. I can only reccomend this place.

Stayed in Amouage first time in May 2023 and now in November. absolutely loved everything! Stylish spacious rooms, location, service, food was delicious, whatever you order in the menu ! Special thanks to Imad 🥳 he makes you feel part of surf Maroc family !

This place is excellent, one of the best stays I’ve ever had. Beautiful location and facilities, everything is super clean, food is very good, the staff is friendly and accommodating. With the surf package they take care of everything.

Absolutely awesome! We had lunch here as a family (two adults and two kids aged 4 & 6 years) and it was so good that we ended up coming back for a drink and evening meal this evening too. Such a lovely atmosphere, lovely staff and delicious food. Would highly recommend!

At the high season, this restaurants runs on 2-3 people waiting staff. After 10 minutes of waiting at our table, a waiter is seen walking by, when asked if he could take our order, he told us that he'd come back in 5 minutes to take the order... We proceeded to leave the premises. When we walked by the reception, a person who might be the owner or a manager didn't deign to ask us what was wrong, but instead laughed out loud. Excellent experience. Would recommend.

I would definitely recommend this hotel, it is hevean on earth with the most beautiful sunset I have ever seen. The food is delicious except tapas. Expect slow service

I was supposed to go in Surf Maroc when Morroco decided to suddently close its border with France in a 24h delay. During this very stressfull and uncommon situation, Tom from Surf Maroc has been supportive ; we arrived at a solution regarding my booking, what was not obliged to, especially in this akward situation (unilateral decision of border closing). On the place itself, I've been in Taghazout many times, and this is a must. The place is beautiful, with a great vibe, right on the ocean but also nicely apart from the town center. They also provide quality surf guiding with some of great local surfers : a perfect place to surf and chill. Warmly recommended.

At the start of the pandemia as countries were closing borders I asked for a cancelation 6 weeks in advance of a 7 day retreat I had booked for. Upon request for a refund, The only option provided was to convert the +£400 deposit into a voucher to be used when everything returns to normal. Surfmaroc claims to be flexible and supportive with the situation but yet they do not give the chance of a refund even under unprecedented circumstances. I will now have to liaise with the travel insurance and continue to overcomplicate a matter out of the travellers control. I don’t feel this is a place ran by flexible and understandable people sadly

What a gem - Amouage had exceeded my expectations. Amazing spot with perfect sea views, great pool area, delicious food, all complemented by the kindness and attentiveness of the staff who treat you like family. I also had a massage which was great, sunrise yoga was an amazing way to wake up and the surfing coaches are the best. I will definitely return! Thank you guys ❤️

I’ve been many times, and I don’t understand a few of these recent reviews. I have eaten here numerous times, both at the BBQ and from the menu - I’ve enjoyed the food and never had any problems! A lovely spot, beautifully designed. The interior design is outstanding. The service is beyond friendly and efficient! Just lovely! Couldn’t recommend it highly enough.

I’ve never left a review however was so impressed with everything at Amouage I wanted to spread the word. We were so grateful to Salima, Khalid, Simon, Abdul and the entire team for being so helpful and friendly. Everything from the delicious food to the music, design and decor hit the mark. Not to mention the fantastic views from our balcony, the pool and rooftop yoga studio. We’ll be back!

Absolute 10/10. Everything was brilliant. Gorgeous hotel - really clean with super helpful staff. Fantastic food. Excellent location right on the beach. Surfing lessons were so much fun. Honestly nothing I could suggest to improve here, we loved it and are planning our next trip. Gorgeous room overlooking the sea, we could hear the waves in the night and it was fabulous. Really tastefully decorated, clean and minimal aesthetic. Super comfy bed and a great shower.

Three of us from a retreat went to Amouage for a massage. We were a bit disappointed for a few reasons. For all 3 of us the massage ended after 45 minutes when we paid for 60. Two of us had a massage in the same room which we agreed to beforehand. However, the two masseuses whispered to each other several times throughout the massage which was off putting and unprofessional. The masseuses left the room without a word and we laid there a bit confused about whether the massage had finished or not. After a few minutes passed we assumed it must be over so started to get dressed. The third guest who has a massage alone after us had the same experience. Pretty disappointing especially when we were paying London prices! (650MAD and 550MAD = approx £55 + £45). The massage itself was OK but not the best.

Such an epic spot! Amazing views over anchor point and super friendly staff. The interior design of the hotel is an experience in itself. The boutique nature of the building really pays homage to Moroccan culture and the food is five star! Love it and highly recommend visit here!

The most overpriced n’ overrated hotel of Taghazout, like all people I was attracted at the beginning by the pictures and architecture of the place, before being disappointed by the poor and unfriendly service, with a huge lack of welcoming and cleanliness. To be clear it’s a 2-3 stars hotel (Hostel) and service with the prices of a 5 stars hotel (too expensive compared to what you can get for the same price in a 5 stars hotel in Taghazout, Barcelona or Porto) I was disappointed by the poor quality of the restaurant… my partner and I had a food poisoning, a very bad experience! To top it all the manager was yelling at the employees in front of us, and I found this unprofessional I will definitely not recommend this hostel for my family and friends

I had a wonderful stay at Amouage, a beautiful hotel with an amazing view. The room was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was delicious and varied. I also enjoyed the restaurant of the hotel, which served tasty dishes with fresh ingredients and local flavors. The staff was very friendly and helpful, but I would like to thank especially Oumaima who made our stay unforgettable. She was always smiling, attentive and gave us great tips on what to do and where to eat in the area. Thank you Oumaima and Amouage for an incredible holiday! 🌴🌊
