Dal is a lake in Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir. It is an urban lake, the second largest lake in Jammu and Kashmir, and the most visited place in Srinagar by tourists and locals. It is integral to tourism and recreation in the Kashmir valley and is variously known as the "Lake of Flowers",[1] "Jewel in the crown of Kashmir"[2] or "Srinagar's Jewel".[3] The lake is also an important source for commercial operations in fishing and water plant harvesting.[4][5][6]

Beautiful, lovely, marvelous, spent 15 days traveling by road, best climate during August to visit. Have visited these places back in 1996, almost after 25 yrs the beauty of Dal lake has increased with new infrastructures, security extended by great Indian Army brothers.

It is worth watching the sun set at Dal Lake. Very rarely the scene can be found in any other part of the world. But beware the water of the dal is getting terribly polluted day by day. You need to be cautious.

All sunsets are invariably ravishing but on the bank of Dal Lake it is more mesmerizing, relinquishes sadness.
