Good Hostel in favorable location. Most attractions are far out anyway, so aim for a good place to sleep and put location second. One thing to know about hostels here in taiwan is that they are a bit different to maybe europe or other asean countries like thailand. I found them to be more calm, professional and quiet- not very fun focused. In was able to drop my bag, but not to check in before the official 3pm time. I booked the 4 person dorm, ended in the 8 person dorm and had issues withe the very form mattress and pillow. Personal preference. If you can not or don’t want to go steep and narrow stairs you should avoid this establishment since it will be required. I had overall a good time here, price is fair for what you get and everything was very clean.

I really don't know why they have good comments. I went there with my friend last month, and I didn't get good treatment. The room we had was a double bed private room, there was no mirror in the room, and the light was broken, I could hardly stand in the room. We had a shared restroom, and the staff promised us we would be the only one used it. However, the next morning the restroom was occupied by one of the staff. The reason I knew their staff was using it was because she didn't even lock the door, and she occupied it for a long time, so we needed to go upstairs. Their shampoo was so stinky. The worst thing was how their staff treated customers in different ways. The first day we came back to the hostel, one of the staff asked my friend how his day was nicely. When I turned my head back, the first thing she sold me was" Are you going to pay the rent?". I was really confused by her attitude, it made me feel like she either be racist or sexist. I really don't appreciate the attitude of their staff, I had a bad time staying at this hostel.

Very friendly atmosphere. Lots of westeners come here. Owner speaks English and is very nice. Good location, everything clean, no problems. Nice people

Friendly and helpful receptionist, so lovely and great first impression of hostel. Close proximity to city center. The room is clean, quiet and with air-conditioning. The shower and toilets are clean as well Locals people working in the hostel, they can suggest you to hire scooter (remember to have your international license), call taxi for you, visit places and places to have a meal outside. Highly recommend!!

Well done and decorated hostel with multiple areas for socializing (even though there weren't many guests on the night I stayed). Has enclosed bed with curtain for privacy.

This hostel is perfect for backpackers like me. The room are well equipped (light, lockers) and safe (each door has a password). There are laundry machines so you can easily wash your clothes for a few penny. The common area are nice to meet other backpackers (and there are a lot!). The staff is very friendly and offer good recommendations if you ask them. The hostel is also very well located in the city centre, right next to the famous Hayashi Department Store. You can also easily go by foot to the Confucius Temple. I think it’s a good place if you want to visit historical and cultural sites! There is another Fuqi hostel in Heping street and both are awesome with different atmosphere but always the same friendliness! But be careful of which one you’ve booked your room in, I’ve seen travellers come to the Yuanqi branch (this one) when they have booked for a room in Heping.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The location is within walking distance of a lot of the attractions, 7/11, night markets. You can walk from Tainan station but it’s maybe 20-30 minutes. The accomodation is really cute and the staff are all friendly and helpful. The rooms has aircon and each bed has curtains. Was a bit disappointed my locker didn’t work, but it seemed safe.

Loved the place... had a great time chatting with the staff. You can wash and hang laundry on the rooftop. A plus for backpackers :) Note for light sleepers.. my bed was in the room facing the main road so it was a wee bit noisy for me. Ear plugs are provided.

Tired after long ride, finally got a place to sleep at last minute check in in peak holiday time (CNY).

This is a very amazing place where you could take a break and chat with your friends. If you have a opportunity to come here, I very recommend it for you.

It's a great backpacker stay. The boss is also very friendly and nice. Great for English speaking guest as they have lots of english information on where to go.

Socially active hostel with decent bed and subpar common facilities. Nice and helpful staff, approx. 15 min walking distance from train station. Ideal for backpackers who'd like to meet fellow backpackers and socialize.

This is a great place to stay if you are looking for budget accommodation in Tainan. The staff is very helpful and friendly, and the dorm rooms are comfortable. They even give you 5 free postcards, and provide colored pencils and such, and then mail the postcards for you!

Amazing hostel! Incredibly friendly and helpful staff, nice, spacious rooms, tea&coffee always available! The common area is big so you can meet people and the hostel is in a great area, very central! There are bikes and buses nearby. I definitely recommend a stay here! 😃

A lovely place to stay! The hostel is very clean and organized with a big kitchen and cozy common area. The rooms were nice and cool at night- a much needed break from Taiwan's humidity. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location is great and many sights are walkable.

Right in the hip and happening area of Tainan City, lots of food, cafes and bars around. Beautiful vintage furniture in the shared space, comfortable beds, and friendly staff. Keeping in mind it is an old building so some parts may look a little rundown, but to it adds to its character! Would recommend! 👍
