Famous for hot spring and porridge, but its a mess. First, you need to line up to buy ticket for both hot spring and restaurant. Next, go reserve for a porridge. Then, a long waiting line up for the hot spring, took me 2hrs for only 30min of spring. Parking available outside the motel.

Extremely crowded when I came, with snaking queues extending outside. Sulfur-based hot spring and I surprisingly love the stench 🤓 and yes, baby smooth skin The shared bathrooms were a little too chaotic, and some lockers didn’t work

Free public spa if you spend a min of NT$400 per pax at the restaurant. If you want a private room, top up NT$250 (limit of 40-50mins); Order the food, go for a spa then come back n eat porridge. Small portion can feed 4-5 portions easily. Local recommended the fresh prawn porridge which takes about 1 hour to cook.

Wanting to visit this spa mainly for its delicious porridge, finally I made a visit just a day or two prior to their closure of one of their public baths. This hot spring is not very accessible; there is no direct metro nearby. Rather, there are a few buses that will bring you to the hot-spring from Shipai Station or simply get an Uber. The hot-spring does not provide towels - make sure you bring your own or you could purchase their small towel (with a comb and a small sachet of body lotion) at TWD100. Water is chargeable at TWD20 per bottle - much needed after a hot soak. Upon arrival, we went to the counter ask about the free entry - spending beyond TWD400 per person on food will be entitled free entry. As my primary objective is to savour their famous porridge, we paid TWD800 for two person. We went on a weekday afternoon, therefore no queue was observed. But before entering the hot-spring, we were required to place order for the porridge first at a specific timing as they were made to order. The hot-spring appeared to be smaller than expected with 3 baths at the centre (all sulphur hot-spring) with one cooler pool at the corner and one cold pool next to it. There is also a small sauna and a steam bath. Barely, there are enough seats or resting area. The whole area also appeared a little run down - hopefully the renovation will renew its interior and outlook. Even on a weekday afternoon, there were at least 20 people in the hotspring - mostly locals. We soaked for no longer than an hour and headed straight to the restaurant, which was my primary objective. As we pre-booked the porridge, it was almost ready upon arrival. We ordered the Minced Chicken with Fresh Shrimp porridge, the small portion. Even with a small portion, the portion size was better suited for a party of 3 - 4. Besides the porridge, we also ordered the Three Star Scallion pancake and Kyoto Orange Pork Ribs, both being recommended dishes. Indeed, the porridge lives up to their expectations - same goes for the other two recommended dishes. The price for the food is reasonable give it’s portion size. I will definitely be back again to try other dishes on their menu - as for the hot-spring, it will just be an interactive event with friends prior to lunch or dinner.

If two people consume more than 800 Taiwan dollars( 10% service charge on top) then the hot spring bath in public is free to entry. The food was very tasty and the homemade plum juice. The public hot spring bath is less standard compare with Japanese ones. But the hot spring water is unique. Therefore it is bearable ~

A local choice hot spring. Separately men and women bath or private bath. Prepare the coin for the locker and towel prior to the bath, if not you must buy a towel there. Not so friendly English environment, better to travel with a local.

There are separate public pools for men and women. The entrance fee is 125 TWD in July. The male area has five warm pools, one cold pool, one steam room, and one sauna room. All are open to the public. There are also private rooms available.

Pretty cool place. Free public bath entry for food orders over NT$400. Otherwise 250 entry fee. Naked outdoor pools with different temperatures. Very natural and beautiful view particularly on a rainy day. Relaxing place to go. Mixed aged men. Some dudes are looking for gay cruising acts in the stream room but nothing major.

During my visit to this incredible hot spring spot, I had the chance to enjoy their delicious meal package, which is as much of a highlight as the hot spring itself! Here’s what was on the table: 1. Stir-Fried Squid with Vegetables Served in a hot stone pot, this dish was a delightful mix of tender squid rings, fresh basil, and perfectly stir-fried onions and garlic. The flavorful sauce added a balance of savory and slightly spicy notes, making every bite unforgettable. 2. Seasonal Greens Stir-Fry This dish featured vibrant and crispy seasonal greens, lightly sautéed with garlic and topped with fried shallots. It was simple yet refreshing, perfectly complementing the richness of the other dishes. 3. Seafood Porridge The star of the meal was the hearty seafood porridge served in a beautifully crafted clay pot. Rich and creamy, it was packed with fresh shrimp, crab, and chunks of seafood that enhanced the comforting rice broth. The warmth and umami flavors were truly a treat on a chilly day. The combination of these dishes, paired with the serene hot spring ambiance, created a wholesome and memorable experience. If you’re visiting, I highly recommend indulging in their meal package—it truly completes the trip!
