1 star because of traffic. I know many people only post pic like the beautiful mountain. But almost non share about how bad traffic was. I wanted to share this, not to lower the star, but for other to be prepared if you drive your own car! On Saturday 12/11/2022 we drove our car and I’ve spent 2 hrs on car struck on the mountain finding the parking lots. It was a mess. And if you park near the route. You will be fine from 900 - 1800 ntd bill! Other options are - take bus, but I can see, fully packed of pp just like a fish can. So be prepared if you want to take bus. - for me if we come next time, I would choose “Uber” for the way up, and for the way down, may take bus or Uber instead! “Never bring your own car as it was crazy 🥹🥹” The nature is quite nice, easy to walk and can see many cattle :)

Yangmingshan National Park is located between Taipei and New Taipei City. The national park is known for its cherry blossoms, hot springs, sulfur deposits, fumaroles, venomous snakes, and hiking trails, including Taiwan's tallest dormant volcano, Qixing (Seven Star) Mountain (1,120 m). This mountain range was originally called "Grass Mountain" .Yangmingshan National Park has a lower elevation. Even though mountain elevations range from only 200–1120 meters, beautiful landscapes such as ridges, valleys, lakes, waterfalls and basins are abundant.

Good place for trekking. If you decide to trek better to prepare for lot of steps and good pair of shoes and not too heavy jacket.

    1. It's a big National park and natural. There are 12 sections. 2. To get there, take a bus line 260 from Taipei main station (Opposite) to Yangmingshan bus terminal. From there, take another bus line 108 and drop at Mount Qixing. 3. You can start hiking from there. 4. Recommend to check the weather before you go there.

Amazing view! Went in the morning and ended in the evening. Need to plan your route well. Went during December, and it can get pretty cold. Make sure to be appropriately dressed. Also, it gets pretty steep depending on the route you take. If you are taking public transport, do take note of the frequency of the bus. Usually, it takes around 30-45 minutes. There is very limited capacity on the bus. Those waiting at the later bus stop will not be able to get on the bus if the bus is filled. Will have to keep waiting until there is space for you to board the bus. Be prepared to spend a lot of waiting time will be spent on waiting for public transport.

Be careful !!! I had a great time BUT the Qixing trail can be dangerous. The trail is steep and unforgiving, so leave with plenty of time before sunset. We took longer than expected due to the difficulty and we had to walk down in the dark. It's a nice walk but prepare for difficultly, weather and sunlight.

a place where people should know more about hidden trails and should be allow for people to discover , but not forbidden them to go. the transportation here is crowded with the bus. traffic car usually jam for people that wake up lately. This small mountain forest is a place of beauty and solace, a tranquil retreat where the natural world invites you to explore its enchanting, intimate secrets. It's a reminder that even in the shadow of a modest mountain, nature can weave a tapestry of wonder and tranquility. got restroom/toilet nearby.

The place is so pretty especially the flowers, there's a lot of areas to take pictures. If you're not familiar with the place, it is a hiking trail bearable when you're ready for hike but I don't think it is good for tourist who don't want to hike for 30-40mins. It has up and down road so you have to be careful and wear comfortable shoes.

Amazing trail, good for all levels of hikers. The northern trail to the peak is easier for ascending, the southern trail much steeper and longer. We took the southern trail to ascend this time, definitely more tiring, but we could enjoy the descending part more (to the northern entrance): much better scenery and less effort because we were on the way down.

Went there on a late Dec afternoon in 2020. It was a rare rainless day in Taipei. In fact, the sky was even somewhat blue which was a sight for sore eyes given the seemingly endless rainy days since early November. The chrysanthemum show had already ended officially by the time of my visit so many of the flowers were past their prime. However, the gardeners did an admirable job with the placement and color arrangement so the ground was still very attractive. The Taipei city government should be commended for maintaining this place of history for all to enjoy. This is a nice place to spend time even when it is crowded with visitors.

Lots to do and see, a historical place, the residence of Taiwan’s early and government shaping president. The garden has been transformed into more of a tourist attraction albeit still an interesting experience with vast land. A tourist stop or a walk in a park since it’s free admission to go inside except the presidents houses.

I went to the Shilin official residence to enjoy the spring, but I saw the Shilin official residence lacking flowers. I was very disappointed, especially during the Chinese New Year. Taipei citizens and friends from all over the world All of you will be appointed here, but what you see is the official residence of Shilin without flowers. The mayor of Taipei wants to come on! This kind of sight should not appear in the largest metropolis-Taipei City (Original)

Calling nature lovers! If you were to plan an itinerary to visit Taipei, allow 2 days and pick a hotel near the park of your choice of budget, there are as well upscale hotels/resort that offer spring facilities. I personally think March is a pleasant month to visit - catching the final bloom of the Cherry Blossoms while the weather is cool and of course avoiding the crowds (hotel rates are also cheaper).

The place is really beautiful. Going here is a bit far but I could say it is worth it. There are food stalls near the flower clock so you won't get hungry. The food is also pretty affordable and there are seats available. It is more of a self service one.

It was the last day of the annual chrysanthemum show at the formal presidential palace. Sea of humanity. The chrysanthemum collection was incredible. I also saw my first Muller's barber, the five color bird. The palace ground is beautiful and nicely maintained. It opens all year long and with different floral shows throughout the year. I will definitely come back when there are less people, walk around and take photos. It is one of the best places in Taipei to relax and enjoy.

Visited today for the yearly FREE chrysanthemum festival and it was fabulous as usual. This year is a cute Sanrio Pompompurin theme. Fairly large crowd on this Saturday afternoon, which thinned out the further you walk into the grounds. Lots of varied flower displays and a couple musicians. Plan to bring your own snacks if you will be there a while. Kids should really like the theme this year! ☺️

Nice place to visit and walk around. The gardens are free to visit. Only have to pay if you want to go into the residence. There are audio guides available in multiple languages. Else there are staff standing around who are usually very friendly and happy to talk to you about the history of the building.

Many photographers like it very much. In winter, when the temperature drops below 0 degrees Celsius, there is a chance to snow in Lengshuikeng and Erziping. It is a good opportunity to chase snow. In spring, hundreds of flowers are in full bloom. The national park is full of mountain cherry blossoms and various cherry blossoms. It is beautiful, and there are white, red and pink azaleas. At this time, the flowering season of Yangming Mountain is February and February. Yangming Park is particularly beautiful. People who go up the mountain to enjoy the flowers are especially beautiful. My husband and I decided to just drive around to explore the park instead of walking since it’s pretty hot now. Lush of greens in every turn we took. We passed by a waterfall which looks deserted but gave us a serene feeling. Many cyclists love to use the trails available for their adventure. Good place to go to if you need to find some calmness from the bustling city life.

Park with beautiful landscape, flora, and fauna, sulfur springs, trekking tracts, grassland. You can get geographical information about the formation of mountains and sulfur springs from the tourist information centers. Try to carry a jacket, good pair of shoes, a raincoat, water bottle before going there. Weather is unpredictable. Well connected to public transportation. One of the best natural parks in Taiwan 🇹🇼

Amazing March 2023 early cherry blossom s and azalea flowers blooming 1ith calla Lily fields being grown in one particular valley, you can take public buses but perhaps need a taxi to get up to the area to see the remnants of an old volcano that is still letting off steam or smoke. Not sure but I'm told people can cook eggs on it haha

Wear proper hiking shoes (if you have). The steps are quite rocky and it won't be very easy to climb with sneakers. Hiking stick will help too! View from the peak is amazing and was worth every step we took to get up there.

I went with a tour guide, which brought me up the mountain with a tour bus. I think there are many hiking trails so you can hike up the mountain too. There’s a lot of scenic spots there, like hot springs and an active volcano. I recommend to plan your trip there or follow a tour guide. There are also restaurants in the mountains so you don’t have to pre pack lunch or dinner. Temperatures up there is about like 4-6 degrees colder than sea level. Overall very nice place with beautiful views so a must visit place in Taipei
