Went on opening day, and it was very busy!! The home goods section and wine selection are not as large as the other branches but I loved their selection of US products here. Also excited to go back and visit when there aren’t as many people!

Beautiful supermarket, many selections of fresh fruits, meat, snacks, bakery, wine and groceries.

My family was so excited to go the opening of the Christmas Market but it turned out to be absolutely maddening experience. It took us an hour from the city of Chiang Mai, the traffic to this Rimping was worse than anything I havr experienced in Bangkok. We finally arrived there, about 500 meters away from the parking entrance, but the traffic was at stand still for half hour. I decided to walk to the parking lot to see what was going on. The parking lot was completely full and cars were waiting on the road for someone to leave. Not happening. The guards at the entrance seem oblivious to the massive number of cars trying to get into the parking area, and when I pointed this out, he just laughed like it was the funniest thing he ever seen. So utterly disorganized. I returned to our car and it took us another 15 minutes just to leave the area. I made promise to myself never ever drive anywhere on this side of Chiang Mai.

Still a lot of construction going on around the new Rimping at time of writing. Rimping store itself is a reasonable size but not as big as the former Promenada location. Outdoor Christmas markets being set up on my visit and looks like it will be interesting with a lot of stalls selling fresh produce and cooked food etc.

A tight squeeze and overpriced. It looks huge from the outside, but then inside you’re bumping into other shoppers. One plus is that they do carry Ragu Oldworld Style spaghetti sauce 👍🏻 I’ll stick with Big C Extra for their spacious aisles and affordabliity.

Nowhere for us old folks to sit. Not much beer variety, plenty of wines though. Great variety of meat. VERY expensive fruit and veg.

Brand new Rimping Supermarket. Same same as others but shiny new! Expensive but quality all the way.
