国指定史跡高松城跡
1587年(天正15年)讃岐領主となった生駒親正によって築城。
黒田官兵衛が縄張りを行ったそうです。
現在見られる遺構は江戸時代に入って改修されたもので近世城郭の海城として最大のものです。
本丸に建てられた天守は、萩城や熊本城の天守のように天守台より出張り、最上重が小倉城や岩国城の天守のように「唐造り」でした。
現在天守の復元に向けた計画があるそうで楽しみです。
高松城跡には現存三階櫓が二棟、月見櫓と艮櫓は国の重要文化財指定。
高松城は日本100名城に選定されています。
