Hanamikoji-dori seems to be the go-to spot when tourist visits Gion. You'll find lots of foreigners here wearing traditional Japanese kimono. They all don't come here without a reason, as the street is pleasantly wonderful to stroll around, whether day/night. If you're lucky you'll spot a Maiko on her way. Authentic Japanese restaurants and cafes on your left and right will surely gives you a unique experience. Most of them comes with a high priced menu here.

This is one of my favorite spots when visiting Kyoto. It’s a great place to spot geisha and maiko, but even if you don’t spot them, the overall atmosphere, architecture, and feel of the area is astonishing. Feels very traditional when walking through as well.

(Translated by Google) I visited on January 10th. Every year, New Year's Day 3 is a temple with a large number of worshipers. Shops are lined up on the approach road from the station, and stalls are lined up inside the temple. However, this year, the number of first-time visitors was dispersed due to the corona disaster. The temple itself is a very fine temple with a long history, but I think it is a good place to enjoy the scenery of Umebayashi and Takarazuka city from the hill.

(Translated by Google) I went to buy a talisman to pray for a safe delivery, but I was disappointed with the rough response so that I was surprised that such a person would handle the important talisman of Nakayamadera. I want you to handle the amulets a little more carefully, and I hope you can speak in a way that suits your location. I don't want to write it badly, but it was really unpleasant and very disappointing. (Translated by Google) A famous street in Kyoto where you can feel the atmosphere of the old Japanese streets. Before Corona, there were always more people than Shinkyogoku, and it was hard to see the atmosphere, but it is more quiet. But I hope Corona will converge soon! Old Street for geisha sightings but it was a rainy day so there was none, probably better in the evening. This street is at the busiest shopping area with a lot of cafes, restaurants, many matcha soft ice cream shops (u must eat a few). There is a kanji museum that we went to see. There were plums blossoming in the parks as it is winter season.

I learn here many things about japanese culture and I want to thank my japanese elders for this. It was my second visit to Osaka Japan. During I got chance to spend some times with japanese people especially teachers of my sister. So those very kind people took me to visit this temple which is a great temple of Lord Gautam Budha. Here you can see and feel the culture of Japan their hospitality kindness humanity and lots of things. With regards

Old and historic temples are good, but you can also enjoy the awesomeness of the new construction, the beauty of the colors, and the excitement that people in the past would have felt. A street connecting to Kenninji, the first Zen temple in Kyoto, built in 1202 to the south. (Translated by Google) Even in Kyoto, it is a street that retains the atmosphere of Kyoto, and the streets of Kyoto are lined with old folk houses. At first glance, the shop looks like a normal private house, and it's fun to take a walk. Inuyarai etc. are also placed in each house, and you can enjoy the nostalgic atmosphere. Unlike in the past, individual shops are often replaced, and there are also modern snacks and bars, so it's fun to look at each shop. Beautiful area with a lot of traditional Japanese buildings, rich with history, restaurants and the occasional geisha walking between appointments. I really enjoyed the feel of this area, it almost gave me the feeling of taking a glimpse back in time. I went on a weekday evening when it was raining lightly, so the streets were fairly empty which was really nice.

A touristy place. I didn't really see many Japanese here except those who work here. Those people who wear traditional Japanese attire isn't Japanese. There's few high end Japanese restaurant here that look expensive.

This is a lovely temple very close to the station. It has a great looking temple and a beautiful 5 storey blue pagoda. In spring there is a plum blossom grove located on site that is lovely to walk through and generally enjoy. Highly recomend a visit if you want a less touristy, working temple close to Osaka.

Went there during the new year. It was unexpectedly busy, but the renovated pagoda looked very nice and not tacky like many renovated old buildings tend to look. It’s a nice walk up to the temple, and even more stairs to get to the very top area where the pagoda is, but it includes a very tastefully covered escalator for people who can’t go upstairs easily. Like most temples, I wouldn’t recommend during New Years if you want to actually see the temple, but it’s nice if you go there for the atmosphere.
