Beautiful setting. Incredible view of the lake and surrounding area. The building is a little old but in acceptable state. Breakfast served at 7:30 sharp. No shower in the room, so have to go to the common onsen area to get clean. Onsen area close between 8:30 and 9:30~10.. So if you want to clean up in the morning, you have to go either at 6:30 or after 10 am. Check out is at 10am, so.. no getting clean, no shower on the day you travel back. Everything else was acceptable (food, ambiance) or quite good ( food cost performance, staff attitude). The shower situation kind of killed the experience a little though.

Lovely place for the price. All rooms have a view over the lake. The rooms were very spacious and clean as were the baths. Evening meal was excellent and breakfast had enough choice. It is perhaps a little dated in places but very much recommend.

The views were stunning, situated right on the lake. The staff were friendly and the rooms were clean. The beds are the old style and the dinner is traditional. Being a westerner, I struggled with the bed but the food was very tasty if you're willing to try everything. Great value for money for dinner, a room, and breakfast.

Very kind staff and willing to help English speakers. Lake view from room is lovely & onsen is really, really nice and spacious. Breakfast is Japanese and they do have coffee.
