Oily and tasteless food that I couldn't even finish. Felt sick to my stomach from all the grease. The service was non-existent and the table was dirty and never got cleaned. The whole place is definitely overhyped. Updated: thank you for your reply. I visited the place in Solaris and, I ordered the vegan gyoza and the rice bowl with avocado and tofu. Everything was just soaked in mayo, and the tofu tasted like straight up oil. Ended up having a good laugh at the one piece of cucumber on the plate as well. I was just expecting the standard to be higher after hearing this place being hyped up by vegans, but as someone who's been one for most of my life it all just felt like there was no effort made. It all had a feeling of just being westernized fast food. And I've honestly even had better Japanese cuisine from supermarkets.

I ate here with my boyfriend since we were craving ramen and Tokumaru did NOT disappoint! We ordered big bowls of ramen and they were sooo flavorful and filling. The preparation time did not take too long and the server was very kind. We might come back for sushi :>>>

We got vegan shoyu ramen and vegan yakisoba with coconut curry. Both were tasty and the ingredients were fresh. The melon soda is a must-try and I liked japanese beer as well. The service was fast and convenient. They also have discount for ISIC-holders.

Mixed feelings. I regularly eat Japanese, we tried the ramen and Japanese curry, a bit of sushi as a starter. Sushi was great, fresh, the curry was bland and lacked enough “curry” to finish without a dry mouth. The ramen was great. Service doesn’t seem to care much, I asked for extra spicy but got a salty substance instead

Lovely place, good service, no access by wheelchair, popular for both dine in as well as take away.

I have been to this restaurant a few times over the past few years. It used to always be very good but today had a different experience. The servers were mingling between each other, so customers had a hard time getting the servers attention. And the chicken I had was very salty, had to ask for rice, because was hard to eat alone without it. I hope it will get better, like it was a year or two ago.

Was a bit crowded on dinner's time. Tried the ramen was not that satisfying but love their matcha ice cream and the Japanese green tea. I ordered the Genmaicha and taste so good. The matcha ice cream is definitely one of the must try dessert here!

We were quite disappointed by our lunch at Tokymaru. The place looks nice and the waitresses are friendly. However, the food was not great. The tempura was tasteless and the broth was too salty. Also, the udon noodles were not thick udon noodles as one would know them. The vegan ramen was not very tasty neither. Gyozas were ok but I have certainly had better ones. However, I like the fact that they have several vegan options.

Super delicious and filling vegan options. We had the vegan ramen, soba noodles and spicy tofu tempura sushi 🌱 🍱 🍜 . This made my day!

Food was very good. Service could be friendlier, and it definitely felt like they were understaffed. Half hour wait in the stairs leading up to the restaurant, followed by almost 40 min wait for the food.

I stumbled upon Tokumaru, and what a delightful surprise it turned out to be! From the moment I walked in, the ambiance felt cozy. The daily don lunch menu and specially the Crisp chicken don are absolutely amazing. If you're craving some delicious Japanese cuisine, this place is an absolute must-visit. The service was top-notch too.

A great place if you crave for some Asian food (ramen). I ordered big bowl of char siu ramen, 1 fritz-coke, and extra kimchi. It costs me 16.70. Can't say if it's expensive or not, coz it's my first time here. If compared to what I had in Indonesia, it is rather exoensive. The portions are big, 1 large sized ramen can make you full, guaranteed. They give quite a lot of kimchi too. The taste. The soup is very good. The noodles, I've had better noodles. The fillings? Great. The char-siu can be more juicy, but tastes just good. The kimchi is pretty good. Not the best, but very decent. Within a bowl you'll get ramen (obviously), 1 egg, bamboo shoots, nori, green onions, and 2 slices of char siu. The atmosphere is great, the service is good and welcoming. Overall a recimmended place for your ramen craving.

Food was good but didnt have the Japanese flavour I was looking for. Service is nice and atmosphere is as good as it can be in a shopping mall. You can see hockey matches from their restaurant when their on so this was fun.

Coming here already 6 years. The ramen losing size but still great and delicious. The service level became lower and lower. Facing even nationalistic altitude of waitresses and cashiers. Very sad about it.

Except for the ubiquitous sushi fare, I'm not particularly familiar with Japanese cuisine, and Tokumaru seemed like a weird place to start, being an inexpensive cafe at a mall. I went there on a recommendation from the locals, and boy, was I glad that I did. I only had time for a quick lunch, so I ordered a chicken don, thinking it a safe bet (what can go wrong with rice & chicken, after all?) Well, I didn't expect to get what is likely to end up being one of the better plates served to me this year, all for a hefty price of ten euro! Not only everything in my bowl was very flavourful and cooked to perfection, but everything also worked extremely well together. I sort of regret having had no time for a repeat visit during my week-long stay in Tallinn, but I will certainly consider it in the future, and I will definitely be ordering a full meal this time. The prices are fairly low, value-for-money is just through the roof, and the serving times are pretty short.

At my first time tried the miso ramen soup, the new pork tonkatsu and japanese grape soda. It was delicious!

I love Tokumaru and it's not my first time visiting their establishments, but I was pleasantly surprised by the size of Avocado/salmon don in Solari's shopping mall. It feels, that in Balti JAMA, takeaway options are smaller but the price is only 1€ something cheaper. Definitely enjoyed our meal and now I know that if I want bigger size portion- I go to Solaris :)) Oh, and we had kimchi ramen too. Tasty, tasty, tasty!

Sushi were alright but other dishes were kinda disappointing. Ramen was bland while the fried chicken were too salty.

I usually love the vegan options Tokumaru has, but today I was in short of time and went to Tokumaru takeway downstairs in Solaris mall and got tofu-avocado don. It was awful, majority of the box was filled with wet doughy tofu in super greasy sauce. Top cherry was a long hair strand in the food. Dear Tokumaru, I think this Don should be sold only when fresh, otherwise it is just unedible.

Great Japanese joint in the mall, go up from the cinema. Seafood ramen, vegan coconut fried noodles and sushi were all really great! Lovely atmosphere, great service. In the mall but feel like a restaurant with great decor, authentic japanese drinks & desserts and great prices. Open kitchen and excellent English menu & service. They even have a private dining room for 8-10 people Will be back!

19/09/2021, Solaris takeaway. Long story short: serious drop in product and service quality. Not anymore. Ordered mushroom maki (among others) on their web page, paid for the order, then they call back saying they are out of mushrooms, so they offered to replace them with something else; I'm usually not a complainant type, but they'd just thrust this on me, and no apologies whatsoever, + the replacing sushi were cheaper then those I ordered initially. The chopsticks were absent. The masago coating on California was barely visible and literally dissolved into the rice. Massive use of rolls' edge cuts as normal-sized sushi, with stuffing replaced by some weed (and not just this time). Not to mention they don't put adhesive tape around the soy sauce stack anymore, so the sauce is often being spilled during transportation. Looks like this is goodbye. UPD: To response: The answer is in the first three rows of the review. Please read again, if you care.

Miso ramen and akamiso ramen were more or less better than the fake japanese restaurant. It was good to taste hot meals at least at the restaurant. At the second time, I had katsu curry, but the rice was not warm and curry sauce was salty. Cutlets were well crunchy. I don't understand why they put vegetables on the rice.🤨

Super friendly service by a young lady Enele (probably, spelt it wrongly!), she was very nice and gave us good recommendations. Food taste and quality was also very good. Tried lunch offer combo ramen and gyoza. Would come back again and try sushi next time =)

👍👍 Just Super! Extremely neat and clean atmosphere 👌. Self service, enter, pick the tray and the plate and choose food/drinks of your choice by going at dishes on different tables and the person will put selected food into your plate and then you pay at the counter for the selected food items/drink...
