The best view point in the city! The platform is situated in one of the most ancient parts of Tallinn and it has an idyllic and enchanting view of the Old Town as well as its towers and walls, which can be seen all the way down to the port. There are 157 steps connecting Toompea hill to the town below, with the stairway coming out in Toompark by Snelli pond. It’s not hard to get there and it’s also well worth!

A great viewing area that overlooks the finest wall towers of the old town. Great views all round and there is a cafe there. Much better views than the Piiskopi viewing platform which is nearby.

Fantastic views! The best way is to come from the Townhall Square, instead of climbing the high stairs from Schnelli Park.

Best place to have a back sea port view of Tallinn. You will see green lush trees and then a never ending sea view. Place is always super windy, so be sure to check weather and wind level and also take at least a jacket with you. Take the nunne street and use the medieval stairs to go to the top, you can also access this view point from the other side of the old town. A highly recommended place in Tallinn.

1 | View of the older and newer part of the city, the harbour and the Baltic Sea. I recommend visiting it even if you only have a few hours to spend in Tallinn. 2 | The place is easily accessible from the station and the adjacent park, just climb the stairs. 3 | The best atmosphere at the viewpoint is in summer before sunset. 4 | After the tour, I recommend going to the Kohtuotsa viewpoint, which overlooks the Old Town. For me, it offers the best view of Tallinn. The walk takes about 5 minutes.

I was there during the winter time, it was nice to see the city at such a height, now I can imagine how amazing it'll look during summer. The stairs going up to the viewing platform give a nice work and the view is worth every step. Also, one doesn't have to use the stairs when coming in from the city centre, there is a path which leads to the viewing platform from the city centre

Lovely views from the platform. Worth climbing the hill. The way has proper stairs and lovely views on either side. It also has a souveneir shop on top. And a way that connects to the old town. So maybe possible to come here directly by car.

Probably the best sunset view point of the city of Tallinn. Lovely views and space. You can see the sun setting on the Baltic sea and you also get a nice view of Tallinn Old Town on your right.

The Patkuli viewing platform is an amazing place for going and taking as many pictures as you wish, over Tallinn's skyline. From here you will be able to contemplate the ocean and the various enormous ferries which go to Finland and Sweden. This place is definitely a must-see spot when coming to Tallinn; an experience that your must not let go. P.D. Make sure to check Tallinn's weather forecast so you can plan your trip ahead and avoid rainy and cloudy days that could ruin the perfect sight.

A must visit place. You can go and see the sunset from there or the ships or the beautiful Tallinn city. People tend to stay 20-25 minutes there and enjoy the wind.

One of the best viewing point over Tallinn old town, you can reach it from two different sides, with stairs or with a normal stones street. Amazing view over the skyline also during cold winter nights with snow over the roofs.

The best views of the old town. Lots to see here and a great spot for pictures. Take the steps down to the Towers Square and take in some history. Well worth a visit.

It is worth every step of this tower! Very nice view! Just have in mind they don't accept credit cards, so prepare 5 eur in cash for each person:)

Very good viewpoint. Lovely by sunrise and sunset. Easily reachable and the it's just next to the other one. City is small, so don't miss this one.

The right place to go to if you want to see something from Tallinn's old town, as much as to see a bit from the new neighborhoods of the city. It takes some effort to climb up the walls, but it's nothing that bad and I believe it's worth it.

One of the few places in Tallinn you can have nice view from. I recommend to visit this place. Panoramatic view is breathtaking and you can see all of the architecture of city centre.

One of many awesome viewpoints in Tallin, this one from high up and tucked away down an alley in old town. Come in the evening when hardly anyone is around. Great spot!

Beautiful. Easy and quick climb up, free to visit. You can walk around and go to different view points at different angles too. Lovely streets and the Saint Alexander Nevsky cathedral is also up there.

The Patkuli viewing platform in Tallinn is an absolute must-visit! The panoramic views from this elevated spot are simply breathtaking. You get a magnificent vista of the Old Town, with its charming rooftops, medieval walls, and cobblestone streets. The view stretches all the way to the port and beyond, offering a captivating glimpse of Tallinn's beauty. Don't miss the opportunity to capture some amazing photographs and immerse yourself in the stunning surroundings. Highly recommended!

This is an excellent museum. I was impressed with the displays in this museum. The person issuing admission tickets at the front counter was helpful and knowledgeable. He was also a great conversationalist and offered more historical/political information about Tallinn in addition to the information displayed in the museum. He provided additional, useful insight into Tallinn's Russian occupation.

It was cold and very windy. Not excellent conditions to stand here for a long time. But a really nice spot in old town to look over the city to the sea.

  • 4/5 Kristína B. 1 year ago on Google
It's a nice viewing platform, you'll see the old town. It's probably nicer in spring or summer, but don't be discouraged from visiting in winter. Be careful though, the stairs are slippery.

Great view of the city. Especially beautiful during the darker period. Quiet at the moment since there aren't many tourists and you can't hear the traffic. Can see a lot of different buildings from different eras. Good view of the sea as well.

Fantastic place to take a view over part of the old town and Old Wall Towers. Probably every tourist goes here, but don't let that stop you. Great to walk up the winding steps from below, rather than approaching it thru Toompea. Yes, would suggest everyone visits this.
