Overall, I am disappointed with the hotel stay. I expected quite a lot from the hotel because it has been recently renovated. The pictures of the room on the booking site looked good and all the pictures showed a view of the city. Upon the arrival we heard our room was on the sixth floor. I was excited, because I thought I would definitely see the city well this way. When we arrived at the room, we noticed a room with two small windows and a view of the hotel's lobby. So no any kind of view out. The wall directly in front of us and below us was the hotel entrance hall. I was very disappointed. No natural light came into the room. For example, such an ordinary thing as applying make up was particularly challenging without natural light and with poor lighting in the room. Besides, it was New Year's Eve and we hoped to see fireworks from the city. Now we saw the wall. Of a lobby. Because our room's "view" was into the hotel lobby, there was a lot of noise from the lobby into the room. Instead of a nice double room with a view to the city, we got a big family room with four single beds here and there and no any view from the window. There was hair and fur on the beds, also some kind of small black bugs. Didn't have a very restful sleep at night. Of course you could get the single beds together, but we had separately requested a double bed. This was not fulfilled. The mattresses in the beds were thin and slippery, they kept falling off the bed, you had to constantly put them back in place if you stayed on the bed. There was no shampoo or conditioner in the shower. There was just a plastic soap dispenser similar to the one next to the sink, attached to the wall. This gave the impression that the shower also had the same soap for washing hands. No mentions whether the product in question is for example for both body and hair. I assumed that the hand soap was not for hair. All the toilets in the lobby were blocked and the feces were rolling in the water. The breakfast took our hunger away, but it can't be praised. The warm foods were not very warm. The apple juice and orange juice were available, both tasted like water. Savings maybe? The payment for the breakfast was taken from us at the counter by a blond-haired woman who seemed to be unfamiliar with the word "customer service". I'm very disappointed with this, it's a shame that I had to pay for the room. Must say I can never think of staying at this hotel again. A hotel room has a strange effect, if it does not meet expectations at all, it may cause annoyances for the entire trip. And that is what happened now.

We chose Metropol for its location and pricing. It's just a short walk away from the port if you are reaching Tallinn by ferry. One can reach Old Town by walking 10 minutes. So it's a thumbs up for the location. The hotel and the rooms are newly renovated. The room was clean with all basic amenities. However they need to provide better toiletries. Our room had a private sauna and the experience was great. The heated bathroom floor is fantastic too. We did face some glitches during our stay which was sorted on request. The hotel is rather busy so no point in expecting personal level service. We loved the breakfast spread.

Not your fanciest hotel in Tallinn, but price wise really good. Some rooms might have seen rougher guests than others, but in general the rooms are clean and nice. If you want royal feeling this might not be your place, but if you're looking a place to stay near city centre with a good price, this might be your place. During my stay (7days) didn't experience any excessive noise or other disturbance.

Do not recomend. Everything cost extra (gym is 5€/visit and it is pretty old, late check-out is 10€/hour, spa is 10€/3h), breakfast is really bad (no bakery, eggs only boiled, no cappucino, not much fresh fruit, etc.) and service isn't great as well (had a problem with the lights in the room, in 24h no one repaired it and I had to ask for another room) and I had the "do not disturb" on the door and still maid entered the room twice. Rooms themselves are built with cheap materials but are ok. Staff is not very friendly.

Pros: Location isn't bad. Room and bathroom was clean. Cons: no sound insulation from other rooms. Through a vent in the room I could hear conversations from other rooms until 2am. The room lacked basic things like a kettle.

I was given a room with no air con and facing west; it felt like an airless oven (although it was cool outside). No strongbox, no kettle. When I objected, they "upgraded" me for an additional 25 Euros per night! This was strategy -- obvious and blatant. The receptionist gave information about walking tours that later proved all wrong. The overall impression: unadulterated disgust. BEWARE!

Great location. Great coffee at breakfast. But that's where it ends. Completely disinterested reception staff. Housekeeping sort of threw the bedding back on the beds. Hotel bar closed Thursday Friday and Saturday with zero explanation. Industrial scrambled egg blocks recycled from Friday to Saturday breakfast. No coffee or tea making facilities available in the room. Shame, really.

The location is very good, and everything in walking distance. The room was clean but a bit small, the pillows could be more comfortable and I would expect a wardrobe in a 4-star hotel, the bathroom was a bit poor and run down. Breakfast was ok, no better or worse than other similar budget hotels. Overall hotel was good for a 2-night stay, but I wouldn't rate it as a 4-star.

For the price this is perfect for a weekend in Tallinn. It's right across the street from old town and in walking distance to other places too, like Viiru Keskus and Coca Cola Plaza. Really nice area surrounding the hotel with sculptures and flowers and small places to eat and drink. Higley recommended. Rooms are better than i was expecting.

My favourite hotel in Tallinn! The price/quality ratio is pretty good here, because the hotel is giving you amazing quality service and the location of it can’t be better. From the window of my room I saw the modern architecture of the Rotermanni kvartal Now there’s a construction site nearby, but the noice of it bothered me only for a couple of minutes, even tho the window was open almost all the time and I stayed inside during the day It’s pretty clean and the room service is good Stuff speaks English, some of them are better in English, some have beginner level, but it’s very nice overall

Did not receive room in due time. Receptionist (TRAINEE) Was absolutely rude with her chewing Gum. Not happy at all!

Nice location, but inside is super poor. Smell like in public toilets.

+ Very good location, cheap price, fridge in the room, breakfast included (nothing fancy, basic), coffee maker machine on the 1st floor (because the coffee at the breakfast was impossible to drink), grocery nearby. - The floor in the bathroom and room was dirty, in the drain was someone's hair, the mattresses were stained, very very bad, we had to request to change it. Very hot in the room, no a/c, we had to sleep in October with an open window. No soundproofing at all, can hear neighbors like they are in your room. I do not recommend it for more than 1 night, only if you look for a short cheap stay, for leisure stay it'd be good to look for another hotel

An unfortunate disappointment Liked · The receptionists were incredibly friendly and welcoming upon arrival. They made the check-in process smooth and hassle-free. During my stay, I had a small issue with the room's air conditioning. However, the maintenance guy was able to provide instant assistance and had the issue fixed within minutes. It was much appreciated. One of the best things about this hotel was its excellent location in the city center. It was within walking distance of many popular attractions and restaurants, making it easy to explore the city. Disliked · I was extremely disappointed with my experience. The room was dirty and poorly maintained, with a floor that had clearly never been swept or mopped. The toilet seat was scratched and looked dirty, and the shower phone was broken. The breakfast was very limited and not worth the price I paid for it. The selection was minimal and the quality was poor. But perhaps the worst part of my stay was the rude behavior of the cleaners. They seemed to have no regard for my personal belongings and were clearly not interested in providing good service.

The rooms are good, but the internet was really bad. In room 208 it isnt working at all! Breakfast is ok but nothing more.

Great location, large modern room, a good breakfast, friendly staff,. Strangely I could hear clear voices in the middle of the night coming from a neighbouring room. The Hotel was also slightly on the expensive side and I would possibly look at their sister hotel The Metropol Spa Hotel next door if I was to stay again. The 2 Hotels were literally joined together by a corridor and the Spa Hotel looked amazing in comparison.

There is no cattle for hot water in the rooms. The furnitures are old. There is no slipper in the rooms. The diversity in breakfast is moderate. It could be better. The price can be more cheaper with its current form.

The great location is about the only good thing about this place. Oh, breakfast isn't all that bad. The walls are paper thin. There is a fee to use the gym, I've never seen this before. The staff just hate everyone. Late checkout coats €10 per hour. This was also a new one on me. There is no air in the bedrooms. Even with the windows open, it's stifling hot. The hotel is in a working building site.

When we arrived we used the email to open the front door and when passing the night receptionist we looked to greet her and she turned her face down, not to have any communication with us. My friends and I found it unwelcoming. The room door also opened with the link, and the room was spacious, very clean, confortable beds and sheets, delicious towels, everything perfect. We had a delicious breakfast with many hot and cold options on the buffet and even a specialty coffee machine! We stored our luggage for the day and the staff was polite. Only thing missing, would be a more warm approach from the staff.

Highly satisfied during my stay. The location is quite central so that you can visit oldtown or commute any location in Tallinn easily including airport, bus terminal and ferry terminal. Breakfast provides high range of options. I am just wondering if sauna could be open during the early morning for business trips? Thank you!

The location is great. Rooms are clean, renovated and beds are comfortable, however, this hotel has no "air". It is a miserable place. This hotel has no ventilation. Hallways and elevators are stuffy as well. We booked a room for three people. In those rooms you cannot open windows. They give you a fan, however, this did not help. It turned my room from regular oven to convection oven. We requested a new room, because sleeping there would have been impossible. We got a room with two beds and an extra bed. This room was a little better because we could open the window, however, in the morning the construction started. In conclusion, I would never stay in this place again.

Very poor experience. Apart from location the hotel has nothing to offer. The rooms are ugly. Interior design must have been made by a child. Even for economic class standards this hotel is not good enough. The water in the shower would start to clog up a minute into the shower so you can't even wash yourself properly. You then must stop and wait... The ventilation is non-existent. It's extremely stuffy in the rooms and air quality is poor. I am appalled. What a disappointing visit. Wouldn't recommend to my worst enemy.

Place has a nice location with a beautiful view. It could be easily found. The service was friendly, and the food was decent. My complaint is that this place didn't have beds that could be separated, unlike in the photos, the bedsheets were synthetic, making sleeping way too hot.

  • 3/5 Dimitri 2 years ago on Google
Not bad overall, a bit basic. Good location, renovated bathroom and well maintained in hallways, lifts, etc. Awful synthetic pillows and blankets, the room was not attended by housekeepers during my weekend stay, only one person at times at reception serving guests from 2 hotels (Metropol and Metropol Spa). Reception staff are not particularly friendly or engaging.

Good hotel in a good location near the old town. The rooms are large enough with a good sized bathroom. The breakfast included is also very good.

What I know is that I had a good experience. Love the receptionist that was working at night. Such a sweet. The vending machines have kissell! Awesome, tastes good, too. Do try! The coffee was also absolutely splendid and I hate coffee. Rooms were nice and clean, there was supposed to be floor heating but there was not (in the bathroom). Cons are that they could use some toiletries in the rooms. Slippers, maybe? View from my window.

We stayed for 4 nights in the hotel. When we arrived it was really hot in the room (we guess 25°C - too hot to relax). The floor in the bathroom was way too hot heated. We asked the staff if they could cool the room or turn off the floor heating, they replied that they will see and weren't sure. They gave us a fan and the floor was colder after one day, but the room couldn't be cooled down (there was no proper ventilation in the room). There was also no window in the room - only a window that couldn't be opened and where we could see into the lobby. The bathroom didn't smell good and the floor wasn't very clean. When I was barefoot my feet were slightly dirty. At night it we heard the neigbourd talking, pretty loud. The walls must be very thin.

Spent time for online check-in, but still had to register all the guests at the counter once again - so what is that feature about then? Too hot in the rooms - not possible to open windows, no A/C and seems that no ventilation is working. Receptionist has never been in metropol rooms, she is not familiar even with the room types, so no much help from her side here. Have to wait till the morning for the more experienced stuff to solve our problem with the air. In bathroom there are no sanitary items - which actually shows how cheap can the hotel be. Location is great though :D

The place is great, in the city centre, but the hotel is overbooked, no free parking and no information that the parking should be pre-booked. Have to pay 16 euro per 24 hours. Rooms are clean, but small and empty, no teeth brushes, no cosmetics. Even slippers should be paid additionally, 2 euro per pair. A bit disappointed 😏

Beware of booking.com as it is advertised with swimming pool. But you have to pay for it. In fairness the pool was worth it...

  • 3/5 Walter de R. 2 years ago on Google
Friendly staff and great service and I like the location. Unfortunately the rooms, or at least the room I was in, had poor sound insulation which meant sound from other rooms was clearly present. All in all ok for the price I paid. So can recommend if this is something you can accept.

Metropol is a good place to relax. Spa is good. The price is affordable. Breakfast is taste. I had just a small issue where a lamp in my bedroom didn’t turn off. The proposed solution was remove the card from the entrance and turn everything off (it included the heating). A bit disappointed I would say, but I can understand that it happen sometimes. I just think they would propose another better solution.

Basic hotel with a nice location next to old town. Quite hot room with no AC. Breakfast was average, multiple items running out on Mon morning when we had a breakfast around 9:30.

  • 3/5 Minh L. 2 years ago on Google
Newly-built, basic but well equipped hotel. The location is golden, right in the middle between ferry, old town and other cultural spots. The reception had only 2 persons which seemingly cannot handle the volume of guests. The check in took a good half an hour, and there was always a queue when we needed to talk to them. The hotel is supposed to have a parking garage but it was full when we visited, so had to pay extra to park elsewhere.

  • 1/5 Osvaldo B. 2 years ago on Google
This hotel try to cheat the people. They asked money before to see the room and they give us a room that was totally different from what I booked. When I asked back the money the service manager didn't help us. Thanks to booking we solved the issue. At the end they give us the right room that at the beginning of the conversation was not available.

Pretty modern and clean design, however the prices are a bit too high and most of the rooms are facing to a white wall, so the views are horrible. Staff is friendly though.
